Low Spirits

Henrie fell asleep in the middle of eating. It was his first opportunity to sleep and eat properly after a while. He planned to eat dinner and sleep afterward, but the plan failed to come to fruition when he felt uncontrollable drowsiness as he was munching his food.

No one dared to wake him up. Instead, the knights built a temporary tent around Henrie to shield him from the harsh winter night.

Seeing the crown prince of Reichwein dozed to sleep in that manner moved the knights. Junior knights had been experiencing stress and low spirits due to the losses of their comrades and themselves. Each day, the troops were only being pushed back. The enemies got stronger, and they could cover more areas.

Reichwein had lost because of two things: they were not prepared for this attack, and they were greatly outnumbered. If they could catch wind of this war beforehand, Henrie could request help from allied kingdoms and empires.
