Couldn’t Wait Any Longer

Ernest felt cold suddenly. He rubbed his arms repeatedly until warmth returned. Strange. It was already spring, and yet, he still felt cold.

"What's wrong, Lord Ernest?" Yohana asked as she passed by and witnessed the scene.

"I don't know. I suddenly have a bad feeling." Ernest didn't know what that bad feeling was about, but it only exacerbated his impatience. He grabbed his coat and sword and said, "I can't wait any longer. I will speak with my father."

Ernest summoned his family knights to gather around and go with him to find Castellan Stanislaus. His father's whereabouts was no mystery. Various witness accounts claimed he was still in the royal palace with his knights.

During the day, the Castellan would wander around the town to rob people or find anyone who looked like they would rebel against him. At night, he and his knights would return to the royal palace to rest.

"Didn't Runa tell you to wait, My Lord?"
