Unsatisfying Victory

The royal palace was now empty. Yohana decided to go to the capital and help out, using the royal palace as a shelter for the injured. It had been so long that the capital was abandoned. Yohana wondered about the current situation in Grossfeld and how many people were in need of help.

Lord Ernerst's effort seemed to be paying off. The Zamek's knights had retreated from Grossfeld–most of them were captured and brought back to be imprisoned in West Matzovia. However, a few knights escaped.

Ambushing Castellan Stanislaus in his base was not an easy feat, and Yohana commended Lord Ernest for his bravery. In spite of that, Lord Ernest was dissatisfied with the result. He regretted letting his father slip away right before him.

"I was reckless. No. I was weak. I am weak." Lord Ernest did not lift his head once, keeping it low as he hid his face with his elbows.
