Last night's incident left the entire academy stunned. The building housing the entire classrooms was completed destroyed.
There were also a few partially destroyed structures caught up in the cross fire.
Two years ago, the imperial council signed a bill which prohibited deviants above the A-rank from engaging in personal fights, due to the grand scale of destruction these individuals could create.
Personal fights between peak A-rank deviants and S-rank deviants were proclaimed as a criminal act under the grand alliance .
Author's Note:{ The Imperial Council refers to the alliance formed by the heads of the ruling seven Royal Houses. They all came together to mutual create the Grand Alliance Constitution, which was installed as the sovereign law.}
Leo and Flynn by the grand alliance law were now criminals of the Imperial Alliance.
. . .
"So what do you want think we should do?" Adrian asked Alexis, after narrating his ordeal with Mr Flynn.
"Don't tell anyone, we don't know who could be part of their schemes. Anyone could be an enemy." Alexis said.
"The preliminaries starts a few days from now, and we're without a teacher and a supervisor. We are surely in a pickle." Alexis sighed
"Babe, let's all go to bed. we can discuss this at length with the entire class tomorrow." Xi yawned.
"Alright, let me see you off." Alexis walked of with Xi.
"Disgusting!!" Ryan whispered to Adrian.
"Let's go, am sure we'll see him later."Adrian said, walking towards the male dormitories.
The next morning, every student in the Arachis Academy; had received a disheartening information from the school's council. An adjustment to the rules guiding the preliminary exams was made. It was no longer about representing the school at the Imperial Tournament, it was a now matter of survival. The lowest performing class was to be evicted from the school.
This news was like a bomb to the students of class 1-D. Although the school said that students were randomly admitted to a certain class, they were all aware that class 1-D was a dump site. The weakest students were admitted into class 1-D, while the strongest were placed in class 1-A.
The likes of Ryan and Storm were placed as covers, to make it look like they were actually randomly admitted.
"So what are we going to do, without Mr Leo." Jessica a member of Class 1-D said in an anxious tone.
"Please remain calm, we would not get evicted. Mr Leo has selected the team he believes can win the preliminary exams." Alexis spoke in a reassuring tone.
"You've got to be kidding me, how do you think we can win if we have some one like Adrian on the squad. It's obvious Mr Leo handed the spot to him." Disco ( another student of Class 1-D) said.
"The list has already been submitted and it has received the approval of the council, so complaining about the squad now is pointless." Alexis replied in a composed manner.
"We are fucking doomed." Disco grumpily said.
"Perhaps I'll speak to Miss Anna (Major General Anna), to see if changes can be made to our squad list. If only you defeat Adrian in a duel." Alexis smirked.
"Whaaaaaa!" Adrian looked at Alexis with a shocked expression.
'Your crazy, why would you do this to me. I don't even know his ability.' Adrian felt betrayed.
"I gladly accept." Disco smiled at the opportunity.
"Both fighters please step into the ring (hexagon platform)." Alexis said.
"I want you all to bear witness to this." He added.
"Hey, hey, what the hell are you thinking. Do you want me off the squad?" Adrian whispered furiously.
"Don't worry. According to Veronica's prediction, you have a 49.87% success rate. So, get your ass up there." Alexis smiled.
Adrian stepped unto the platform. His anxiety was noticable to everyone present, and it excited Disco.
"You may begin!"
Disco reached into his belt pouch
and brought out seven disk shaped objects, each about the size of a vintage CD.
"What the hell are those?" Adrian asked.
"You'll see." Disco replied with a smile.
Disco threw one of the metallic disk shaped objects at Adrian, aiming his head.
*Swoosh!*
The sound of the disk slicing the air resounded in Adrian's ear, as he narrowly evaded the disk.
'That was close.' Adrian thought to himself.
*Swoosh!*
The disk again glided past Adrian's earlobe before returning back to the hands of Disco.
"Hahaha!" Disco chuckled.
"If you had reacted any slower, you would have been left with just a single ear." He added.
"Don't speak all high and mighty, your still below the top ten!" Adrian smirked, as he charged at Disco with burst of flames from his feet.
Disco threw out three disks this time, each aimed at Adrian.
'What a simpleton.' Adrian grinned as he easily evaded each disk.
'I've got you now.' Adrian thought to himself when he closed the distance between them.
"Collider Sma-ma." Adrian's hand was instantly sliced off mid air.
'How?' Adrian thought in bewilderment, as he saw his arm fly halfway across the platform.
"Ahhhh!" A surge of pain struck Adrian, making him scream and groan in pain when he grabbed what was left of his chopped of left arm.
His arm was chopped of slightly below the elbow, leaving him with just the shoulder part of the arm. The platform was dyed red, as Adrian's blood kept gushing out.
Everyone was left in shock, some even puking from the gore sight.
Adrian had never felt this sort of pain before, and for Disco to be smiling happily at such a scene made him wary.
"Adrian can you continue." Alexis worriedly asked from the side lines.
"Yes." Adrian struggled to say.
"So, you still want to fight." Disco smiled, holding on to the disk that had cleanly sliced of Adrian's hand.
Adrian then ignited his right palm, using the flames to burn his chopped of left arm.
"Ahhhh!!" He groaned in pain, as he repeatedly burnt his left arm; successfully stopping the bleeding.
"Let's do this!" Adrian grinned ignoring the excruciating pain.
