The Dream 3

Adrian could only watch as the monsters caught up with James. Without killing him, the fed on him alive.

"Please no! Please." Adrian begged as he watched them feed on James. Tears ran down his eyes as he felt an explicable pain in his chest.

James watched in pain as the bear sized bats ripped his limbs apart, dug out his kidneys and fed on his intestines.

With a smile on his face he , his eyes lost the ounce of vitality left in them before they were ripped from his head.  In mere seconds, James was reduced to nothing. Not even his bones were left intact.

"You fucking bastards! I'll kill you!" Adrian roared.

"I'll kill every last one of you!!" He screamed with bloodshot eyes.

As if they heard his threats, they turned their heads towards him. The initial boiling rage Adrian felt was completely replaced by fear.

*Screechhh!!!*

The roared at him, their blood stained canines on full display.

"You'll pay!" Adrian roared once more.

*Screechhh!!*

The roared in unison, before flying towards him. Suddenly, the shadow like hands dragged him into the deep hole.

As he fell through it, the light at the top got smaller and smaller until his vision was enveloped in complete darkness. Closing his eyes, he felt at peace as his body descended through the seemingly endless chasm, his memories flashing through his mimd. With everything he holds dear gone there was no need to keep living  a worthless life.

After what seemed like eons, his body collided with the bottom of the chasm.

Unexpectedly, he did not feel even an ounce of pain on impact. It was as if his body had descended through water. Opening his eyes, he found himself  on another plain completely different from the one he had just escaped.

He was in a palace, not the beautiful, flamboyant, gold designed type. It was dark and cold. The only sources of illumination were the dim burning torches hanged on the walls and pillars of the palace. The walls were devoid of any decorations and colorations. The only thing of notable colour, was the scarlet carpet which flowed from the throne.

Seated  on the throne was a figure Adrian couldn't make out. He could see the silhouette of the figure but not the actual details. He could tell this figure had long large horns protruding from both sides of his head.

The sword the figure held in it's right hand was a scarlet coloured sword with gold designs. The colour tone also matched that of the carpet.

"Kneel!!!"

The figure said with a moderate yet fear inciting tone. The entire palace shook just from that  single utterance.

Adrian tried to resist, but it seemed the word infiltrated and manipulated his mind forcing him to kneel before this figure unwillingly.

"Do not resist! Your body will eventually be mine." The figure said, before Adrian felt a surmounting pressure weighing on his shoulder. The weight kept increasing until his body bursted into pieces.

. . .

Back at the ward room, Kiki and a team if doctors were scampering around Adrian. The heartbeat monitor kept beeping at an alarming rate. The bandages tied around him had reduced to ashes as his body's temperature kept rising.

"He is not responding!" A female doctor said as she charged the ER machine.

"One, two, three clear!"

*Zap!!!*

Jolts of electric current traveled through his body, causing his body to subconsciously shudder.

"Haaahhhh!" Adrian exhaled instantly catching the doctors and Kiki by surprise. The rapid beeping sound became normal as he regained consciousness.

"How do you feel?" The doctors asked while keeping a distance from him.

"Hot, but good." Adrian replied as he looked at his body with surprise. His body had regenerated itself. His broken bones, ruptured tendons and torn ligaments had reattached themselves.

"How-how can you move your body?" One of the doctors asked.

"I don't know but I can." Adrian replied as he got off the bed. Kiki and doctors took another step back as he got of the bed.

Adrian felt annoyed that they were staying away from him like he was some pathogen. They were supposed to be happy he was healed but they were rather afraid of him.

"What are you?" One of the doctors asked in a shaky tone. Adrian furrowed his eyebrows, his annoyance clearly visible on his face.

"What do you think?" Adrian asked in return.

"A-a-are you a demon?" The doctor asked once more.

"No, I am Angel." Adrian replied in a mocking tone causing the doctor to feel annoyed.

"I am free to go right?" Adrian said to the team of doctors. They simply replied with a bid as they were too stupefied to say a word.
