Chapter 24

The body of the Green Goblin was unbelievably tough, almost like steel!

Mark felt like he had chosen the wrong height for diving and landed on the concrete floor from a ten-meter high platform.

It was as if a wall suddenly appeared during a hundred-meter sprint, and he crashed into it without being able to brake in time.

The entire impact area, even his body, was burning with pain.

Numbness~

However, the state of the Green Goblin was also strange.

Just a moment ago, it was full of energy and rag, chasing Gwen.

But after being slammed at by Mark, it slanted and fell from the platform as if losing consciousness.

Mark also fell down dizzily along with the Green Goblin.

Gwen took a step forward with all her strength and reached out to grab him.

However, due to the injuries on her body, she was a beat too slow.

By the time her hand grabbed Mark, his figure had already fell down.

What was even more frustrating was that, intentionally or unintentionally, one of the Green Goblin's large hands grabbed Mark's leg.

This pull accelerated his fall.

Gwen was also pulled down by this sudden force.

Boom!

A loud noise came from somewhere.

Mark abruptly woke up from his dazed state and quickly realized his current situation.

His posture at this moment looked somewhat ridiculous.

—One foot being held by the Green Goblin, going downwards.

—One hand being held by Gwen, going upwards.

And when he looked down, it was the dazzling super collider constantly in activity.

They were about to fall into it!

Although this was their original plan, it wasn't supposed to happen now!

They still had to help Miles defeat Kingpin.

Mark shook his foot vigorously, trying to free himself from the Green Goblin's grip.

But the Green Goblin seemed lifeless at this moment, only keeping the position of holding Mark's foot—truly frustrating.

"Gwen, it seems we can only say goodbye here."

Unable to break free, Mark looked at the girl above.

Gwen removed the white spider mask from her face, leaned closer to Mark using the hand they were holding onto, and whispered words that only they could hear: "You kissed me, and I will always remember that."

"Uh," Mark was taken aback and replied with a confused expression, "I was clearly trying to save you."

"Hmph! We both have strong bodies, we don't need artificial respiration. I just need to rest for a while, and I'll recover." Gwen huffed, not buying Mark's supposed reason.

"I-I didn't know? You should also know that I'm still a beginner," Mark muttered.

Gwen smirked cunningly, "Explaining so much won't help, just smile~"

She somehow pulled out a phone from somewhere—even though Spider-Man's suit doesn't have pockets.

Mark chuckled instinctively.

And so, a photo appeared with Gwen at the top, followed by Mark, and finally a huge Green Goblin.

Mark just sighed in a resigned way as he looked down and muttered "Fuck."

Boom—

Dazzling particles surged towards them from both sides, and he instinctively closed his eyes.

After a very short time, Mark felt his hands and feet loosen.

Obviously, Gwen and the Green Goblin were gone.

A soft whisper lingered in his ears: "Anyway, I'll remember you. You stole my first kiss, after all."

Mark retracted his hand that Gwen had been holding, feeling the lingering warmth of the girl.

For a moment, he felt somewhat lost.

But wait a damn moment!

Gwen disappeared, she must have gone back.

But what about him? Is he currently dimensional traveling, returning to his own world?

It doesn't seem like it, right?

Mark opened his eyes, feeling puzzled.

And then he saw was still in the dazzling particle flux of the Super-Collider.

Colorful lights shimmered and danced around him.

The particle stream formed by microscopic particles constantly collided and annihilated.

But what shocked Mark was not this.

It was the various scenes that appeared in front of him.

There was Toby Spider, muscular and wearing a red and blue Spider suit; there was Andrew Spider, with a lean figure and wearing the Amazing Spider suit; there was Tom Holland Spider, with a small stature, young and energetic, wearing a jacket as a makeshift suit.

These were all the Spider-Men of the movie versions!

Each scene seemed to represent a world where Spider-Man existed.

But what on earth is going on? Mark asked in his mind as he couldn't make sense of it.

Meanwhile, in the control room of Kingpin's collider.

"Something's wrong, boss! Just now, the energy requirement of the collider suddenly increased and rose to ten times its original level!" a technician exclaimed anxiously.

"What? How did that happen?" Kingpin grew furious upon hearing this and turned to the guy with an angry expression as he barked an order. "Quick, find the exact cause!"

"Yes, sir!"

"Have they found my family?" Kingpin asked again.

"N-not yet," another technician responsible for gene matching replied.

As soon as his words fell, he felt an ominous feeling emanating from the Kingpin and quickly explained, "Originally, it was estimated that it would take about half a minute to complete the match, but with the current energy consumption, the collider can only sustain for less than twenty seconds, so-"

"You bastard! What are you waiting for then? Activate the backup power immediately!" the Kingpin smashed the table in front of him with a punch, seething with anger.

He was willing to destroy the entire Brooklyn just to study this particle collider, all to find his lost wife and son in another parallel universe.

If he failed, then what would be the meaning of everything he had done?

"Yes!" The technician shivered and quickly began to operate, connecting the prepared power supply group to the accelerator.

In fact, this operation carried great risks.

Because the cooling system of the collider had a high level of consumption, each set of power supply and cooling system had almost equal depletion.

And now, adding another set would extend the usage time of the cooling system.

Once this time exceeded its lifespan...

The technician didn't dare to think further.

But he also didn't dare to voice any objections.

—-—

Inside the particle stream of the collider.

Mark's current sensation was very subtle.

He raised his hand.

His body just underwent another quantum decay reaction, similar to the previous one.

But this time, it was very brief.

Almost in an instant, and then it returned to normal.

Then.

Hungry!

And his body gradually became strengthened as he unexpectedly began to involuntarily devour the energy surrounding him.

Strength, agility, speed, physique, and even his spirit!

A comprehensive enhancement in all aspects!

Mark felt that his current state was unprecedentedly good.

Even the injuries he sustained from the previous battle with the Green Goblin had already fully healed.

"What the hell going on?" He couldn't help but ask again to no one but himself.
