The sound of heavy breathing echoed across the empty rooftop.
Andrew Spider lay on the ground, wearing a look of resignation.
Mark stood by, giving him a kick. "Is this all you've got? How are you going to carry out the mission of a Spider-Man like this?!"
"The mission of a Spider-Man?" Andrew Spider immediately became intrigued.
In reality, he wasn't truly exhausted, nor had Mark beaten him to the point of being unable to stand.
Mark had controlled the force of his strikes the whole time, enough for Andrew to feel the pain but not actually get hurt to that extent.
It's just that Andrew Spider wasn't a masochist.
Taking a beating once was enough; he couldn't endure continuous beatings.
"Yeah, every Spider-Man has their own mission, which drives them forward. Why don't you think about why you put on this suit?" Mark said with a serious tone.
Looking at him speak so eloquently, he seemed to have already transformed into a wise sage imparting some divine wisdom to their disciple.
But Mark's words weren't purely flattery.
Andrew Spider's story was very different from Toby Spider's.
Toby Spider was more in line with "life," while Andrew Spider leaned more towards "heroism."
In Andrew Spider's story, his personal transformation was rather abrupt, and the content of his story wasn't very full.
This was also one of the points that many people criticized.
This was reflected in Andrew Spider; he lacked experience, which resulted in his lack of firm belief in being a hero.
For example, in the beginning, he used someone else's ID card to sneak into Osborn Industries, which led to the real owner being taken away, causing suffocating situations.
It wasn't until later, after the death of Gwen's father, and even Gwen's death, that he gradually understood some truths and started to grow.
Compared to Toby Spider's growth, he paid a much heavier price.
As a "senior," Mark felt it was necessary to wake him up sooner.
Human growth didn't necessarily require pain as a catalyst.
Andrew Spider was completely unaware that he had been fooled. He withdrew his gaze and began to contemplate.
Why did he become Spider-Man?
He really hadn't thought about these things before.
At first, it was the anger he felt upon seeing his uncle lying in a pool of blood that prompted him.
Driven by anger, he chose to search for the thugs who liked to threaten people with guns in the dead of night.
Unfortunately, his debut was a failure. He was chased all the way, and his pursuers even threatened that they had seen his face and would retaliate against him.
It was only after this incident that he considered making the Spider suit to conceal his identity.
He used rough methods to seek out various thugs and criminals, not really for the sake of justice, but just for revenge.
Perhaps Gwen's father had noticed this pattern in his behavior, classifying him as a "lawless rogue with superhuman strength and a certain special purpose," rather than a "community vigilante with superhuman strength fighting for justice."
Thinking about it, his actions really did frighten many people!
However, later he also received some inspiration.
During each retaliatory action, when he saw one after another weak individuals being bullied, he thought about how he had also been bullied by people like Flash Thompson in the past.
Naturally, empathy arose within him.
Especially on that bridge, when he rescued a child from a falling car.
The various complex emotions of the child's father—relief, gratitude—entered his eyes and also affected him.
This was what led him to where he is today!
He began to enjoy helping others as Spider-Man!
Countless thoughts flashed through Andrew Spider's mind, and finally, his gaze gradually brightened.
Seeing his expression, Mark smiled knowingly.
"It seems you've gained some insights."
"Thank you, Mark," Andrew Spider said earnestly.
Mike just smiled warmly as he gazed at the sky scrapers with a slight smile.

In the grimy sewer.
After a failed battle yesterday, Andrew Spider fled in haste, accidentally leaving the camera with his name written on it in the sewer.
"Lizard" Curt Connors, who had reverted back to his human form due to the drug's effects wearing off, sat quietly on the steps used for sewage cleaning in the sewer.
Because no one had come down for too long, the sewer was much dirty and foul-smelling, and the steps were covered in unidentified sticky substances.
But Curt Connors didn't mind at all.
In his mind, there was a voice continuously tempting him, controlling him.
"Peter Parker, Spider-Man."
"It's not me who needs help!"
".As long as my goals are achieved, there will be no more loneliness in the world, no more exclusion, no discrimination!"
"Humanity will evolve, transforming like crawling creatures, shedding the flesh that binds us, becoming a stronger species!"
"A brand new era!"
"And I will be the creator of this new era!"
After convincing himself, Curt Connors picked up the green serum beside him and forcefully injected it into his own body.
He emptied the syringe in one go!
And this time, he used four times the usual dosage!
"Ah—roar!"
With a scream, Curt Connors' body began to swell, and his skin appeared with greenish-brown scaly patches resembling lizard skin.
Accompanied by a roar, a long lizard tail emerged behind him.
"Peter Parker!"
Dr. Lizard roared, jumping into the sewage in the sewer, swiftly swimming towards the direction of Midtown Science High School.
Meanwhile, Midtown Science High School was still bustling with youthful energy, blissfully unaware that danger was looming.
It was morning, and students were arriving for their classes.
Students chatted and laughed as they returned to the campus, sharing their joy from the previous night;
Teachers organized their lesson plans, preparing to head to classrooms.
Bang!
The unfortunate toilet became the first victim under Dr. Lizard's command.
Having traced the sewers here, Dr. Lizard leaped out from below, following the wastewater pipes.
Andrew Spider had just arrived at the school, storing his personal items.
Gwen Stacy stood by his side, asking him about the person from last night and what had happened afterward.
Andrew Spider happily told her that he gained a brother.
Just then, his spider-sense alarmed!
