Chapter 62

"Get lost!"

With a decisive intention to leave, Dr. Lizard had no interest in continuing the fight. Passing by a flowerbed, he swiped his tail, uprooting small trees and flinging them along with dirt and mud towards Andrew Spider.

Andrew Spider swiftly dodged, avoiding each attack.

Before long, the flowerbed was completely stripped of vegetation due to the intense barrage. However, despite the rapid succession of attacks, they proved futile in the face of Andrew Spider's unwavering focus. Other than a few smudges of dirt on his clothing, he remained virtually unharmed.

Dr. Lizard's main objective wasn't to harm Andrew Spider; it was to escape. Taking advantage of the momentary obstruction, Dr. Lizard didn't hesitate to enter the teaching building. He then followed the same path through the restroom toilet that he had used earlier to get back into the underground sewer.

In and out of the muck.

Quite an assassin-like style, reminiscent of medieval times. (Trivia: In the Middle Ages, toilets were often built like chimneys – one end inside the castle and the other end outside. Assassins would sometimes climb up through the sewage system, using a spear to eliminate their target through the hole. The word "assassin" comes from the Latin "assassino," where "ass" refers to the buttocks.)

Mark had no intention of stopping him. Simultaneously, he prevented Andrew Spider from following into the sewer.

Because he knew Dr. Lizard's ultimate goal!

"What's wrong?" Andrew Spider returned to Mark's side, puzzled.

Mark didn't answer directly; instead, he gestured outside the school. "This isn't the place to talk. Let's discuss as we walk."

"Alright, Gwen, you stay here," Andrew Spider immediately agreed, addressing Gwen Stacy.

Mark added, "No, Gwen should come along."

"Why?" Andrew Spider was perplexed.

Mark explained, "Dr. Lizard's objective is to use the diffusion device placed on Osborn Industries to release his high-concentration Lizard genetic serum into the New York sky, turning everyone into lizards. This is his 'Lizard Island Plan!'"

"So, him going back is to retrieve the Lizard genetic serum?" Andrew Spider asked.

"Yes. Therefore, we should head directly to Osborn Industries to intercept him. To prevent him from making a desperate move, Gwen, we need you to go to the building and create an antidote for the cross-genetic serum." Mark instructed.

"Understood," Gwen Stacy quickly caught onto Mark's plan. She was incredibly sharp-minded.

"Let's go then," Mark said, and began walking towards the teaching building.

Andrew Spider questioned, "Are you sure you're not going the wrong way, Mark?"

"No, not at all," Mark turned around, saying, "Don't you think you should change your clothes first?"

"Why would I need to change?" Andrew Spider was baffled.

Mark said, "Firstly, the police outside might arrest you. Even if you don't care, they'll hinder you and add unnecessary complications. Secondly, the distance from here to Osborn Industries isn't short. Do you really want to swing all the way there?"

"Uh," Andrew Spider scratched his head, chuckling awkwardly, "You're right."

With that, he quickly followed behind Mark.

Soon enough, amidst the rubble, Andrew Spider found his backpack that he had discarded earlier, along with his clothes scattered nearby.

He took off his mask, placed it in the backpack, and began getting dressed.

Meanwhile, Mark just stood to the side, not making any move to change.

Andrew Spider was a bit puzzled. "Uh, Mark, aren't you going to change your clothes? By the way, where are your clothes?"

Mark chuckled softly and casually pressed his chest where the spider emblem was.

The nanometal armor immediately retracted, revealing his original attire.

"Wow!" Andrew Spider's eyes widened, "Amazing! Mark, what technology is this? It's way too cool!"

"Nano technology. Do you like it? I'll get you a set in the future," Mark said.

Once Dr. Octopus made significant progress in researching nanometal technology, creating a few sets of armor would be quite simple. Mark could even incorporate additional devices into the nanometal armor, similar to the Spider-Armor Mark I, such as spider-arms, small flying drones, and sensors.

Before leaving, Mark had briefed Dr. Octopus about the basic functions of the Iron Spider Armor, so making a high-quality imitation wouldn't be difficult.

"Really? That's great! Haha~" Andrew Spider smiled happily, quickly arranging his backpack and clothes. Even after finishing, he couldn't help but cast an envious glance at Mark.

"If you can't wait, you can try researching it yourself. I can lend it to you for experimentation," Mark offered, spreading his hands.

He suddenly realized that even though Andrew Spider was young, his scientific abilities weren't inferior to Dr. Octopus's. He could even create his own webbing and modify a wristwatch into a web shooter, showcasing his hands-on capabilities.

Wasn't this exactly the kind of talent his interdimensional research company needed? Furthermore, Spider-Man's character was far more commendable than many villains.

"That's fantastic!" Andrew Spider exclaimed.

After all, which Spider-Man could resist the temptation of nanosuit technology?

If they weren't about to track down and stop Dr. Lizard, Mark would have been itching to immediately start researching his own set of nanometal armor!

"Hurry, let's get going!" Driven by the thought of the armor, Andrew Spider appeared quite eager.

Gwen Stacy had no idea what was going on and assumed her boyfriend was just impatient to stop Dr. Lizard.

So, she decided to use her advantage as the daughter of a police captain. Her father, George Stacy, happened to be on-site, and they could take a police vehicle to Osborn Industries.

However, Mark declined the offer.

If all three of them went there and both Spider-Men appeared at Osborn Industries, the odds of Andrew Spider getting exposed were too high. It would be better to take the subway.

After all, foreign subways don't have security checks; they could just buy tickets and go.

So, the three of them maneuvered around the police who were setting up defenses and calming down panicked students, quietly leaving the school and boarding the subway to Osborn Industries.

Inside the subway, Mark pulled out his phone and turned to Andrew Spider, saying, "Take a look at something you might be interested in."

"What is it?" Andrew Spider immediately paused his interaction with his girlfriend.

On the other side, Gwen Stacy leaned in as well.

They had already attached the labels of "mysterious" and "amazing" to Mark, so they were quite interested in whatever he was about to show them.

Mark casually opened his photo album and found the downloaded video, then clicked play.

With a flash of white light, the movie began.

The familiar tune played, scenes quickly unfolded, and then there were spiders rapidly crawling across webs.

Finally, a few big words appeared on the screen.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN!
