Chapter 68

Swoosh—

A strand of webbing shot out from the side and accurately adhered to the dagger.

With a sudden burst of strength, the dagger was yanked away by the webbing.

"Who's there? Spider-Man! Hahaha!" The Green Goblin first looked puzzled, then broke into a gleeful laugh.

He dropped George Stacy and propelled his Green Goblin glider towards Mark.

"I can see that you've chose death." Mark seethed with anger in this moment.

He extended his hands, shooting strands of webbing onto the walls on either side, creating a makeshift slingshot.

Using the slingshot's elastic force, he propelled himself towards the Green Goblin.

Boom!

Two figures intersected in the air, producing a loud roar.

Mark wasn't like Andrew Spider or Toby Spider.

They might spare their enemies for various reasons, but Mark held no sympathy for the Green Goblin.

The combination of his earlier strike and the elastic conversion of the slingshot propelled him with a force equivalent to over 30 tons!

He could easily punch a lightweight tank out of the way!

Not to mention the Green Goblin, whose armored weight didn't exceed 150 kilograms!

The Green Goblin was sent flying hundreds of meters by Mark's blow, crashing through several buildings before coming to a halt.

However, even when he stopped, his body remained motionless, as if he had been killed instantly.

"ARRRHH—SPIDER-Ma–."

Down below, Dr. Lizard also noticed the returning Spider-Man. As he roared in anger, preparing to attack Mark, he witnessed the scene.

His voice abruptly ceased.

In its place, a thick sense of fear enveloped him.

After multiple clashes with Andrew Spider, he considered himself well-acquainted with Spider-Man's strength. He deemed it not too formidable, even less potent than a firearm's impact.

So he believed Spider-Man was agile but physically inferior to himself.

Even when Mark had shattered half his body with a single kick before, he attributed it to additional effects.

However, the destruction caused by Mark's recent attack shattered his preconceptions.

Spider-Man, or at least the Spider-Man before him, possessed strength that far exceeded his understanding!

Hesitating for less than half a second, Dr. Lizard turned and fled.

At this moment, concepts like "vengeance for a kick," or the "Lizardman Rising Plan," paled in comparison to the importance of self-preservation!

However, while he wanted to escape, Mark wouldn't allow it.

A quick glance revealed at least ten people dead under Dr. Lizard's claws!

How could he allow such a creature to escape?

Swoosh—

Another strand of webbing shot out.

Mark's figure shot like lightning towards Dr. Lizard.

Hearing the sound of the wind behind him, Dr. Lizard was filled with terror. He hurriedly dashed into a nearby damaged building, attempting to evade Mark's attack.

Yet, Mark paid no heed.

The protective capabilities of his nanometal armor were more than sufficient to ignore the common reinforced concrete structures.

Boom!

With a deafening sound, the already dilapidated building added a new layer of wreckage.

Mark's figure landed in front of Dr. Lizard. "Dear Dr. Lizard, where do you think you're going?"

"Peter, no, new Spider-Man," Dr. Lizard spoke with an air of surrender, "I don't intend to be your enemy. I'll leave immediately, and I won't appear in front of you again."

Dr. Lizard, true to his reptilian nature, knew when to yield. Lizards could even shed their tails when necessary to survive, so what was a little compromise?

"Leave?" Mark's lips curled into a cold smile. "After killing so many people, you still want to leave?"

Dr. Lizard's face darkened.

He could feel the murderous intent emanating from Mark.

Furthermore, from the several times the new Spider-Man had struck, it was clear he wouldn't hold back!

"It seems your recovery ability is quite remarkable. I wonder just how far it extends?" Mark sneered, appearing in front of Dr. Lizard in a flash and delivering a punch.

Dr. Lizard exerted himself to dodge, yet a portion of his head was still grazed by the punch's force, tearing away a small chunk of flesh.

He let out a miserable cry and retaliated by trying to grab Mark.

Capitalizing on the attacking hand's motion, Mark swung with a mighty blow, hitting Dr. Lizard's head to the side and distorting his attack.

Following that, Mark's own form leaped behind Dr. Lizard.

Using both hands, he shot out two strands of webbing, binding all four of Dr. Lizard's limbs.

But he still had a tail.

Dr. Lizard hastily swung his tail, attempting to strike Mark.

Mark stood his ground, grabbing the tail with one hand and pressing down on Dr. Lizard with a foot.

With a strong tug, he yanked off Dr. Lizard's tail.

Unfortunately, this tail was deliberately discarded by Dr. Lizard to escape danger, so its harmfulness was limited.

But it didn't matter.

Mark wanted to see how much regenerative ability this creature had, how many times it could regrow its tail!

He also wanted to vent his anger for the police officers who had died outside!

One tail, two tails, three tails... Mark tore off thirteen tails in one breath, causing Dr. Lizard's regeneration speed to visibly decrease.

One by one, the torn-off tails were casually thrown inside the house.

Pinned down by immense force, Dr. Lizard had completely given up struggling, wearing an expression of utter despair.

If it weren't for the fact that the regeneration of body parts was passive and beyond his control, he would've wished his tail wouldn't grow back.

"Are you having fun, Doctor?" Mark asked, looking at the slowly regenerating tail.

"Get lost!" Dr. Lizard roared, "Just kill me already!"

"Kill you?" Mark turned his head to George Stacy, who had appeared nearby at some point, and asked, "Chief Stacy, if I kill him now, would it be considered murder or justifiable defense?"

George Stacy looked at him with a complex expression and nodded, "I will report upwards that with the assistance of Spider-Man, we successfully eliminated the monster responsible for the death and injuring several police officers."

"Very well," Mark raised his foot and stomped down fiercely, "I want to see if your head can regenerate after being crushed!"

Splat!

Dr. Lizard's head was directly crushed underfoot, blood and brain matter splattering, creating a gruesome sight.

However, both Mark and George Stacy present at the scene found this scene to be somewhat satisfying.

Meanwhile, on the other side.

The body of Green Goblin suddenly twitched and sat up.

He fiddled with the special alloy armor on his body, only to find that it had been cracked and damaged by the previous attack. Yet, his body remained unharmed.

The power embedded in his genes rapidly repaired his broken body.

Perhaps it was this power that pushed the madness from his mind and allowed rationality to regain control—of course, the rationality belonged to Green Goblin, not Norman Osborn.

After a short while, Green Goblin summoned his glider using a device and stepped onto it once more.

Flying into the air, he spotted Dr. Lizard's head being crushed by a foot.

Green Goblin concealed himself in the darkness, silently watching the scene unfold. He also touched his own body.
