I felt it before I saw it, a swing meant to kill. I felt the hair on my arms raise in warning. Where? Where?!

"Guh..."

I groaned and felt the dirt cover my back. I was sent flying. Practically kicked to the ground with how easy it was for her. I looked down. An injury.

That... that... Never, not in this new life. I hadn't been injured like this. To feel the soul sucking sensation of pain upon my ribs. It was- was surreal.

But despite that...

"Hah~" I laughed. And laughed and laughed.

More like small giggles but eh- semantics. I shrugged and got back onto my feet. Wiped the dirt off my face and rushed ahead. Foot after foot in a reckless charge.

I could feel the sun upon my skin, beating a harsh lesson upon my delicate face. Could feel the adrenaline rush through my veins and over my ears. But above all that was a little whistle of wind.
