Inari pov
...
The hair on my arms rose. I felt Lily's hug tighten. Her arms tense with power, and my eyes... they searched the room for that oppressive feeling.
That which dominated my mind.
I felt it greater than the others. Customers... their teeth clenched, limbs tensed with little power. And their eyes searched for somewhere to escape to.
"Wha-"
My plea was cut off. Someone screamed.
Who?
It burdened each and every customer. Non-combatants. None of them had experienced death, nor had they seen the blood packed action of a warzone.
And so they were stuck there. Feet rooted to the ground as the building shook around us. Wondering where to go, screaming their worries to the silent cafe.
Soon that was all I heard. Not the silent soothing's of a mother, neither the confident declaration. No. It was the screams of the damned.
