[Inari POV]

Shadows grew, naturally aligned areas of sunlight consumed by the being. It ballooned into the size of a building. It was horrible, it was sickening. The sight. I found myself staring, my eyes looking in horror as the body, once a shadow, was now consumed.

The boy, it sprawled its limbs out, stretching as it opened its mouth. A yawn, one that had disrupted the battle field. At first it was innocent, a mere distraction to the true fight. But it had turned out to be more than that. A curse that I would forever remember. It was as clear as day, as the moments passed by. As the shadow I fought found its struggle in my grasp. It was being pulled, suctioned towards the boy.

No, the boy was no longer one. It was no longer a human, no longer a being that could even masquerade as one. It was horrific. A being that seemed to be grafted with the traits of the ones it had absorbed.
