Blasts of flame, scorching with the heat nearing that of the sun. It burned everything before suddenly evaporating into nothing more than fumes.

But before it could do that it did its purpose. Creating a blazing fury of energy. Entrapping those that it had wanted and burning those that could not resist it.

I found my tails curling tightly over the woman in my grip. Her black hair covering my eyes and veiling my sight. She clenched tightly to my shoulder. Unshed tears falling down her eyes.

As if she thought I could not notice. But I did. Yet, even then I did not say anything.

Simply letting herself use my tails as a towel in order to wipe her tears. She said nothing, did nothing. Simply letting the pain, the burned eye, and singed flesh, all of that. Everything, she let everything out. Simply letting her emotions out for once.
