However, over time, even as she struggles to liberate herself from this abomination of a man, Faye discovers their red strings of fate are more closely intertwined than she once imagined.
      
They both have become unwilling puppets of the empire. With the many hidden agendas and secrets of those in power surrounding them, they will have to put away their differences and form an alliance if they wish to survive.

After Sterling had passionately pleasured himself with Faye in their bed, he lifted and carried her tired body to the bath. As he gently placed her in the water, the steam rose and enveloped her in a warm embrace.

The sound of the water trickling from the fountain head was soothing to her ears, and the room was filled with the sweet aroma of flowers, thanks to the oils that Mielle had thoughtfully added to the bath water.

Faye sank into the fragrant water, feeling her tired muscles relax as she basked in the blissful sensation.

Sterling tugged Faye onto his lap, still peppering her neck and shoulders with kisses. He could not keep his hands off her. Everything about Faye was tempting and inviting to him.
