As Faye stared at Kalandra, she was curious about what had brought her to her bedchambers at such a late hour. Her initial reaction was to assume something had gone wrong during the battle.
"Is everything alright?" she questioned. "Did something happen to Sterling?" There was worry evident in her tone. Faye's eyes scanned Kalandra's face for any signs of distress. Goosebumps raised on the flesh of her arms as she waited for the mage to answer.
"The battle on the ground is over, but not the one inside your husband's head."
Faye cocked her head, furrowing her brow at the strange missive the Mage had just spoken.
"What do you mean? Battle in his head?"
Kalandra gave a gentle smile and held out her hand, palm up, for Faye to take. "Why don't we have a seat? My legs are tired and I am sure all this standing is making you tired, too."
