When the tip of Carter's fingers grazed Dahlia's hand, she felt a shock. An odd electrical sensation coursed through her insides as if zapped by a bolt of lightning.
The hairs on her arms rose, making her skin feel prickly, and in her heart, she felt light and giddy. The delicate smell of sweet strawberries covered in fresh cream filled her nostrils.
It was a strange sensation to experience.
"IT'S HIM!" Dahlia heard a young woman's voice shout wildly in her head. "It's our mate."
Dahlia's eyes darted nervously around the cathedral to look for who was yelling, but she saw no one except the congregation seated quietly, waiting for the ceremony to begin.
Dahlia closed her eyes and shook her head. "Am I going mad?" she breathed, trying to get the voice to stop rambling and go away. This was the second time she had experienced this strange phenomenon.
