Seeing Amelie glare at me with those eyes broke me even further. Just minutes she had been a mother to me, and now she was looking at me with the same eyes she used on Anna. I was growing frustrated with every passing second, and it seemed nothing I said could convince Liam that I was innocent. They all loved Olivia, and loved Junior even more. It was two against one, and that alone made my chances of winning very slim.

"You were drunk, she doesn't blame you for it, so why won't you just own up to your mistakes?!" Liam continued to scold me. He had gotten a little bit more aggressive, and it was all thanks to Anna Braun making an impromptu appearance at his home.

Amelie intervened and managed to calm Liam down before he could yield to his emotions. After hearing that I was drunk, the look in her eyes had softened a bit, but it wasn't entirely gone. She had her doubts, but at the same time she didn't want to view her son as a liar.
