The Maid

The maid was studying Adrian calmly but her brain was working in overdrive trying to come up with a way to deal with Adrian. Her brain only came up with one solution as a flash of killing intent flashed her eyes for a second. Adrian had to die.

Adrian, who had been studying her all this time, was able to detect the killing intent although she was quick to hide it quickly. The killing intent she emitted was enough to confirm she was there with bad intentions.

They both gazed into each other's eyes for about three seconds in silence. That was enough time for the maid to confirm that her intentions had been caught.

Just a second before she made a move, fear clenched her heart so tight that she forgot how to breathe. The world turned an she saw it, a body with the head missing, her headless body. Everything went black and she came back to her senses breathing heavily. It was as if what she just saw was an illusion, but it felt very real to her.

" If you don't want that to become reality, choose your next actions properly." Adrian's calm voice floated into her ears.

" Follow me." Without waiting for her to calm down, he turned around and headed for the kitchen with a carefree expression as if he was just taking a stroll in the park.

The maid was shocked hearing what he had just said. Before she question what he meant, Adrian had already disappeared into the kitchen. She quickened her pace to catch up with him but when she arrived at the door to the kitchen, she was stunned by what he was doing.

" Wha...what are you doing?" She questioned while stuttering, astonished by what she was seeing. Adrian was taking everything apart as if he looking for something but in reality he was just looking for something to eat. He didn't answer her, he just continued taking everything apart. He continued searching while the maid stared at him with a blank expression. Finally getting frustrated for not finding anything to eat, he turned his gaze to the maid staring at her intensely as if considering something.

The maid was at first startled when he turned his gaze to her, but then she became scared when his gaze remained on her body. She panicked when he started walking towards her, his gaze never leaving her.

" You are a maid right? I'm hungry cook me something to eat. " Adrian simply ordered her with a stern voice.

" I'm not a maid." She refuted with her voice raised out of reflex, then she realized what she had done and she became anxious. Adrian just stared at her for a moment which amused him seeing how anxious she was and decided to ignore her mistake this time.

He checked her from top to bottom. " The world must have changed while I was unconscious. The last time I checked, whatever you are wearing was worn by the maids. So you are not a maid, then can you please get me one? I'm hungry. I'll be waiting in the dining room thank you."

And with that he turned around and left.

The dining room was simple small room with a window, table and five chairs. The window's curtains were dark and closed. Since he started receiving assassins, the previous Adrian had ordered all the curtains be replaced with dark colored ones and to always keep them closed. Adrian sat at the master chair which was slightly bigger than the rest facing perpendicularly to the other four. Now that he was alone, he decided to check out the new system changes while waiting for his meal. The room was dark and dimly lit by three candles on a stand at the center of the table.

" System Interface."

" Damn, these stats are insane for a second order." A normal cultivator of the second order should have averagely a hundred points in each stat in consideration the cultivator is a dragon, and that's for a cultivator who's averagely talented. For a second order human cultivator it was around sixty points. For Adrian, his stats were insanely over the five hundred mark. So although he was considered a second order cultivator, he had the strength almost equal to that of a fourth order.

My brothers and sisters, although not as talented as the previous Adrian, should be around peak third order. Adrian thought to himself while planning on how to deal with his siblings.

Engrossed in his thoughts, he felt another presence enter in the dining room.

" Took you long enough." Without even turning around, he knew it was the maid.

Setting down the food she had prepared on the table, she took two steps back for Adrian to enjoy the meal. It took no less than three minutes for him to finish the entire plate, though he still felt his stomach empty.

He turned his gaze to the maid and gestured her with his eyes to take the sit on his right. Placing the tray on the table she pulled back the chair and took her sit by Adrian's side. Adrian gaze never left her sight making her anxious. The room was silent for a minute making the mood feel awkward up until Adrian broke the silence.

" Your name?" Adrian asked while she remained silent.

" Fine. Since you made me a good meal, I'll ignore your silence this one time." Adrian declared with a serious expression.

" Alright miss maid, what were you waiting for when I came out my room?" Adrian asked but before she could answer, he seems to have recalled something and his gaze towards the maid turned dangerous. She felt as though his gaze could see through her soul, as if all her secrets were open to him.
