Who Put This Miniboss Here?

^I can hear it! The boss music! Our fight shall be legendary.^ Jin smiled inside and outside, holding his stick, Remembering when he still played monitor games, wandering around the wilderness, and meeting an overpowered deer demon in the watcher games.

^I'm going to play it in my head! I already bought the game, and I won't give you a single buck unless the game proves to be worth it.^

Jin blinked as he saw the hobgoblin move a bit, and the attack was coming. ^Should I dodge or block it? I will block it I'm not afraid of a mutated green monster!^ Jin could imagine himself blocking the attack and deflecting it to the side and then hitting the hobgoblin to the head, killing him.

The hobgoblin swung his club at high speed. Jin lifted his stick to block the strike with a smile.

BAM! Jin clenched his teeth, feeling the bones in his arms. ^Heavy!^ CRACK! The stick snapped, and the club hit the ground, shaking it.

{10HP=>1HP} He felt a sharp pain radiating from his left arm. It's broken.

Jin stumbled back, glaring at the hobgoblin, sweating. ^Did he shave 90% of my HP in a single hit? No, I would have died if I didn't block.^

Jin glared up, seeing the hobgoblin about to strike again.

^Bad! Bad! I'm going to die. Do I have potions, heals, or where will I respawn?^ BAM! Jin jumped to the side, rolling away and dodging the attack.

"DAMN IT!" Jin cried ^I don't have any. I don't want to have my first death this early.^

Jin looked around, spotting the goblin who he hit earlier but didn't die, "Come here," He grabbed the goblin by the arm, snatching its stone dagger and kicking it in the face.

{1HP=>0HP} The goblin died from the kick, and Jin stared at the stone dagger and started laughing.

"See this! I doubled my damage again." He turned around and glared at the hobgoblin, "I already got it. I'm a god at this game." He started laughing and pointed the dagger at the hobgoblin.

" My name is Ashforthewin69GODBLADE." He stressed the last words, "Get ready to die,"

BAM! Jin jumped forward with his newfound courage.

The hobgoblin swung his club down, but Jin dodged swiftly. "Die!" He swung the dagger at the Hobgoblin, certain of his victory.

CRACK! The hobgoblin simply lifted his leg, kicking Jin in the chest and cracking his ribs.

Jin saw the kick coming and felt the sharp pain radiating from his chest down to his fingertips. He could see his health bar disappear with deafening ringing in his ears.

{1HP=>0HP}

{GAME OVER} The last this he saw was the [game over] bar, appearing for a split second before disappearing into the infinite darkness.

^Damn it. I died five minutes after logging in.^ He sighed, feeling a heavy weight on his chest and a cold sweat running down his spine. The feeling of dying in-game was painful to prevent people from abusing the respawn system.

DING! He opened his eyes, sitting on a wooden chair in a dark room. A woman of heavenly beauty glared at him. Her red hair and white skin looked unreal.

Jin scratched his chin, thinking. "The fantastic Engin 55 is unbelievable." He looked at the woman, "I was thinking of finding a waifu here. Are you a playable character?" He asked with a straight face, but he quickly got back to thinking.

"I really hope customization is available for you. You could benefit from a slightly larger chest. Is there a slider for that somewhere?" He lifted his hand, asking with a smile.

The woman blinked twice, confused for a second, but understood what he meant. "Ahem, you seem confused, so let me explain."

Jin sighed with a sad face, "Another paid DLC, come on, I already paid a ton for the game."

"No, what I want to explain is that you sadly died." The woman said with a stern face.

Jin looked at her, "I know that. That damned miniboss, why did such a thing exist in the forest close to where I spawned?" He stood, approaching the woman with an angry face.

"Is it a way to direct players in an intended direction?" He growled.

The woman lifted her palm, "Please move away from me and get back to your seat."

"Why is that? You won't glitch out when I touch you, is that right?" Jin patted the woman's head, and she glared down with an angry face, barely keeping her calm.

"I told you to sit," She lifted one finger, teleporting Jin back to his seat.

"Fine," Jin smiled, "Sorry about that. I don't want to cause trouble for the devs. They are the ones spending days and nights fixing the games," He smiled, "So, where do I spawn again? Do I get to choose?"

"Listen to me. You died." The woman growled.

"I know. I saw the game over the menu." Jin smiled.

The woman pinched her forehead. This guy was denser than a star. "You died, died." She looked at him. "Not in the game, but in the real world."

It was then that Jin froze, "Wait, what do you mean?"

"Your life ended. You're dead."

Jin took a few minutes of silence to process everything, and he jumped forward bowing down, "Are you god? Sorry for earlier!" He cried.

The woman sighed, putting one leg on the other. "Learn to listen first." she sighed, "But I'm not god. I'm an archangel working for him."

"I thought god would see the dead?" Jin looked at her.

"God doesn't have the time to see each puny human, especially not someone like you." She sighed with a bored face.
