Chapter 18 Plague

"Emergency move out of the way" a voice shouted as Lewis was pushed towards the emergency room.

He was bleeding seriously from different parts of his body and he was unconscious, Alisha was crying in front of the emergency room as she couldn't move past that area.

"Grandma... L-Lewis is in in the hospital, he had an accident" Alisha said on the phone with tears flowing down her eyes.

"Hospital, which hospital?" she asked, and within 20 minutes they were already in the hospital, Alisha sat on one of the benches in front of the emergency room still crying.

"What happened?" Lewis's Grandma asked as soon as she saw Alisha.

Alisha kept crying without saying a word and she was hugged by her Grandma while her grandfather went to the nurses' desk to ask about the accident.

"My son was brought here, he's currently in the emergency room, were the injuries serious?"

"The doctors are doing their best sir, that's all I can say" the nurse replied and he walked back to his wife.

"What did the nurses say?" Lewis's Grandma asked.

"The doctors are doing their best, we have to wait till the surgery is done then we'll find out?"

.

.

.

After a few hours, the surgery was finally done and the doctors opened the door, the three of them quickly rushed to the doctor's side.

"How is he?"

"We did all we can...but he's in a coma, the accident cause a little brain damage and seriously injured his right hand"

"So he's going to wake up right?" Alisha asked.

"That we don't know yet, but we are hopeful, we'll continue to run tests on him to improve his condition, that's all," the doctor said as he walked away and Alisha burst into tears again.

The three of them walked into the room and Lewis lay there unconscious with only his chest moving up and down and his right hand wrapped, his chest and the ventilator machine were the only indicators that Lewis was still alive.

.

"Ouch, my head" Lewis mouthed as he stood up from the ground, the pain he felt in his head was intense, like he was hit with a metal bat, he tried to open his eyes but the room he was in was too bright.

Lewis finally opened his eyes as they adjusted to the light, and to his surprise he was back inside the room where he created his in-game character.

"Why am I here? I'm not supposed to be here right, wait...what happened?" Lewis asked himself as he looked around and finally saw the goddess he met last time and once again she was naked.

"Do you usually move around naked?" Lewis asked.

"Oh you are finally awake, I usually don't have visitors except for other gods and I normally dress up before they arrive," she said as white clothing covered her entire body.

"Why am I here, I thought I was already done with the character creation, oh I also unlocked the first spell in the necromancy book you gave me, it was really helpful," Lewis said.

"It seems my powers affected a tiny bit of your memory" the goddess spoke.

"What are you talking about, why would you use your power on me?"

"You know you are on the verge of death right, you are in a coma right now" the goddess spoke and Lewis immediately remembered.

"I had an accident, wait am I dead?" Lewis shouted.

"You are on the brink of dead, but you are not dead yet thanks to me, but I don't have the power to revive you, so I brought your soul back here and manifested a physical form for your soul"

"Then send me back," Lewis said.

"You still don't understand, I can't send you back to your world, if I do that, you are going to die, and I don't have enough power to revive you in your world" the goddess spoke.

"So you can't send me back, then I'm going to be stuck here till you regain your powers?"

"No, I can't regain my powers because my world is in danger, my world is dying and the humans and others there have no idea what to do or who is responsible, and to tell you the truth I also have no idea"

"Wait so everyone in your world is going to die!!"

"Yes, so I need your help, and after you help me, I'll be able to help you"

"So you want me to go to your world, which is coincidentally the world created in deep dive, and help you find whatever is plaguing your land and destroy it, so you'll recover your powers and send me back to Earth"

"Yes, that is exactly what I want"

"But you know I'm not strong enough to do that, I have no knowledge in magic or sword fighting, how would I survive in your world?" Lewis asked.

"I already gave you the book on necromancy spells, and I know it's not going to be like the game because your life is at stake here, but I'll also give you two more gifts to help you in your quest, and you would be able to learn magic" the goddess spoke.

"Two more gifts, so I'll have to risk my life to get my life back, doesn't seem like a bad deal but I'm a little scared," Lewis said.

"When you destroy the plague, I'll revive you in your world with all your body whole, including your legs," the goddess said.

"Wait, you mean I'll be able to walk, my legs have been injured for over three years, can you really fix it?" Lewis asked.

"Yes, I can, if you can stop the plague, I give you my word" the goddess spoke.

"Okay, as long as I can learn magic and I have the necromancy book I'll be able to keep myself out of danger, so anything else?"

"Remember this is not a game, you won't be able to see your stats and the stats of beasts you face"

"What!!" Lewis shouted.
