As I walked back toward Blaine I could feel his eyes watching my every move, his arms crossed tightly over his chest.


“I see that you’ve made your decision.” He snapped as I stared up at him. His jaw clenched and his eyes flashed with emotions that I couldn't quite decipher.


“What I’m choosing, is to trust fate for once. I didn’t know that Trea felt the mate pull for me all along.” I explained uncomfortably.


 "Trust fate? But fate put this crest on my arm too!” Blaine argued, bitterly.


“I have to think that it’s because you are my new protector now that I have found my mate,” I stated calmly. “And let’s be real Blaine, I am just another craving for you, right? You said it yourself that you have never felt the mate pull toward me. I feel like the Moon Goddess put that on your arm to light the path.”


My words seemed to utter themselves but as I heard myself speak them, I knew them to be true.


His gaze met mine again, his lips pressed into a thin line.
