Eileen and I walk hand in hand through the mostly quiet park, making our way along the water’s edge as the stars continue to shine down on us. The rippling water reflects her hair, giving her a shimmering glow under the moonlight. I gaze over at her, only to find her staring straight back at me. The blush on my cheeks intensifies, and she squeezes my hand fondly.


“You mind if I ask you something?” I inquire, turning my eyes down to the pavement in front of us.


“What, uhm… what were you hoping for tonight? Like, is this just a casual get to know you, or are you trying to like… make this more official? Dating just to date?”


She watches me stumble over my words, quietly processing herself, “Is there an answer you’re hoping to hear?”
