Chapter 27: The Choice Is Mine

In her home, Eileen hums merrily to herself. It’s been decades since she’s felt this happy, and she’s not about to let the positive energy go to waste. After Lily left, she got straight to cleaning up the kitchen, scrubbing down the used pans and making sure to scrub the syrup residue off the table. It’s all so domestic and sweet, something she hasn’t been able to do for someone since her breakup. But even then, it wasn’t quite like this.

With the last of the dishes done, Eileen quietly sings as she makes her way back up to the bedroom. Those sheets definitely need to get washed, and there are plenty of-

“Ah!” Eileen cries out, startling back through the doorway of her bedroom.

Sitting pointedly on her bed, her legs crossed in disapproval, is Bea. She glares daggers over at Eileen, who understandably stares back in shock at the ex in her home.

The shock soon fades to anger as she points out the door, “Get out.”

“You’re gonna wanna hear what I have to say this time.”
