Eileen quirks her brow. She squeezes my hand back, “Slow and steady, yeah?”

“I love you too,” Eileen whispers, barely loud enough to be heard over the wind. That’s all Bea needed to hear before ushering the council forward. A tall man with buzzed hair and gold bracelets filling up his arms steps before the other members. He lifts his hand in the air, sending a dark blue aura straight into Lily’s back. 


Eileen’s eyes widen as she glances back at Bea, who is now surrounded by the four other council members. The one with his arm raised, Dameon, approaches, watching as Lily’s body collapses into Eileen’s arms. She struggles to grab her, then gently lies her on the nearby grass. She steps in front of Lily, her eyes glowing bright red as she protectively stands before the members.


Beside Bea and Dameon, a short woman with a blonde pixie cut and bangs, a white-haired man with a trailing beard and professional suit, and an androgynous vampire with slicked back hair and a button up stride toward Eileen.
