An Eye...For an Eye Part I

After school, Aey invited Fern to wander to one side of Rutherford Memorial School. A small corridor was a direct shortcut to the church built next to the school. The green lawn contrasted with the white church beautifying the church to look more elegant even though time had passed. The timeless red glazed tiled roof was slightly mottled. On the roof stood a towering tower with a golden cross (1). A scarlet west Indian Jasmine was planted along a lengthy fence, a golden wrought iron fence behind the church. If one looked carefully, one would find that it was a cemetery.

“This is the school church. Hmm...It's actually not the school’s. Only our school regularly comes here to perform various rituals. Outsiders can also join. By the way, are you a Christian, Fern?” Aey asked as she led the newcomer towards the church. Fern shook her head in denial while her eyes were still fixed on the building before her with admiration for the breathtaking architecture.
