017: Cultivation

A while later, Wang Jun found himself inside an endless, vast and dark pseudo-dimension, the Primeval Void. He sat cross-legged above the River of Primeval Qi, glowering upon him with its bright golden color from beneath.

Little did he know, the cave itself directly connected with the Heaven and Earth Spirit Vein. Every being in the universe shall return their Qi to the River of Primeval Qi once they died, surrendering their power to Circle or Samsara and let their soul to be reincarnated in the next life.

Slowly, the warmness crept onto his skin while the strands of Primeval Qi circling around his body endearingly, assessing his body and soul aptitude. As the Primeval Qi had deemed himself worthy to walk upon the path of cultivation, those golden Primeval Qi violently entered all of his holes like a swarm of moths attracted to the light. From both of his eyes, ears, nostrils, anus and even his urethra. Lastly, the Primeval Qi gathered to the center of his body, forming a core hence generally called as Dantian.

It situated 3 inches above his navel, for now, the Dantian was black and filled with the impurities. Wang Jun was relentless, he fortified himself, he didn't fought back and let the purifying process do its things.

True, every strands of Primeval Qi were deconstructing and reconstructing every part of his body, muscles, bones, blood and even every bit of atom inside his body.

Although Wang Jun had read many novels about cultivation which stated that cultivation was a very excruriating process, he never thought it would be so painful as if his body was being ripped apart into pieces. Worse, although he was, in fact, inside the game, the pain was beyond and unfathomable and made him almost lost his sanity while at it.

"Hnggh!"

Wang Jun gritted his teeth, holding the excruriating pain all by himself for hours, but for him, one second lasted like an eternity. By the dawn, Wang Jun found himself in tranquil moment, the profound energy inside his Dantian surged and revitalized his whole body. Wang Jun felt his whole being was rebirthed at that very moment.

Ding!

Wang Jun smirked as he looked at the bluish transparent skin in front of him.

[Congratulations! Your Cultivation has ascended to 2nd Stage Body Refining Realm!]

[You obtained 2 Skill Points]

[You obtained 1000 EXP]

"Hmm? Ascending my cultivation stage will grant me Skill Points and tons of EXP! This surely far more effective than murdering people, but damn! I can feel my brain being fried in the process! I have to cultivate this Primeval Qi more delicately and control the flow so it won't heavy burden upon me."

Wang Jun scrolling his skill menu up and down to plan his battle style depending on which skill he will rely on in the battle.

"Stealth makes wealth, levelling up my [Abyss Walk] would be more beneficial for my play style, hmm, killing my prey swiftly and without a trace!"

Thus, Wang Jun invented his newly obtained Skill Points into the [Abyss Walk].

[Skill Leveled Up!]

[Abyss Walk: Lv 3] [Consume: 5 DP]

[Your connection to the abyss had deepened. You are now able to walk in the shadow, teleporting to another location within maximum of 100 kilometer radius and conceal your presence within the shadow. The longer the distance and time, the greater the DP Consumption Rate.]

Wang Jun's eyes almost fell from his skull upon reading the skill's description. The [Abyss Walk] was ultimately broken if it used under the right circumtances.

"Combined with my new profound strength, I could kill anybody without worry! Hahaha! This is the best! Good bye daily farming, and welcome my daily killing spree!"

But then… he remembered to always stay true to himself. Yes, murdering other players would give him tons of EXP, however, he had to become stronger than anyone so he could do anything to his heart's content and eliminate any player who dared to oppose him.

"No, I shall not indulge just yet… Besides, this cave still has so much Primeval Qi left." Wang Jun then opened the window which shows the condition of his real body outside.

"Hmm, according to my the stats, I can stay in this game for at least 8 to 10 hours, real world times. Meaning, I can cultivate in this cave for 10 days or so. Seemed like I had to become a hermit for the time being."

The [Tavern] became more lively once again as the dusk had arrived. Hundreds of players huddled together in the first floor to have their dinner after completing their quests and what not.

Hou Yongyong and his party sat on the corner, drinking cheap ale to quench their parched throat.

It's been a week, or rather seven hours real world time since that shamefull, embarassing moment that Hou Yongyong and his party had to bitterly swallow after confronting the wrong person who they thought was the person who murdered them.

The only logical explanation was, Wei Fei might have took the same looking avatar as someone who had murdered and looted them in the first day. Hou Yongyong and his party couldn't help but to give up the chase, at least for now.

Alas, Fei Lan caught a whiff of that person in general chat.

"Leader," Said Fei Lan. "Look at the General Chat… many people was murdered in the forest just westward from the Village!"

Fei Lan showed Hou Yongyong the images, ten male players were murdered out in the wilderness.

Hou Yongyong, however, remained adamant, did not feeling upset upon looking at the horrid pictures of the victims who were brutally murdered. He then realized every victim has similar condition; The wounds on the body were old and begin to rot, however, the slitted neck was somewhat fresh this explain to him that each of them were tortured to near death and then finished by slitting their neck at the end.

Jiegei studied the images also, "Is this that person's doing?"

"I highly doubt it, that person in black relied on stealth, swift, instant kill. Torture is not his style." A Lan commented.

Taotao, the most perceptive member in the party raised his voice. "Perhaps, he changed his method to confuse us. Nevertheless, we must find and expose the culprit to the public!"
