Chapter 312: Thunder

"Finally killed it." Watching the elemental lord fall before him, the panting Muria breathed a sigh of relief. With the death of the elemental lord, the gravity field that had been pressing on Muria dissipated, lightening his body and easing his strain significantly.

"I actually killed a legend." Seeing the elemental lord now scattered into a pile of rocks before him, Muria couldn't help but wear a proud smile.

Although this elemental lord was in an odd state, seemingly a severely injured premature birth, its status was poor. But it was still a legend, capable of easily annihilating most soul level beings with a snap of its fingers.

However, it was unlucky to encounter Muria, a hybrid Titan hard to find in the world. Even if it had encountered a soul level Titan with a pure bloodline, it wouldn't have died.

A juvenile Titan, generally speaking, possesses at most one weapon forged from legendary metal. Such power is not enough to kill an elemental lord, after all, a normal Titan does not have a legendary armor to augment their strength.

"Delicious food." As Muria was reflecting on his glorious achievement, a short figure dashed past him, pouncing on the remains of the earth elemental lord and digging frenetically.

"Yingdi La!" Muria, in his dragon titan form, bent down, grabbed Yingdi La, who had reverted to her original form, by the back of her neck, and lifted her in front of him, "What do you think you're doing?"

"I want to eat something delicious." Yingdi La looked up at Muria with her big golden eyes, innocent and pleading.

"Defeating the earth elemental lord, you hardly exerted any effort from beginning to end. Now, you actually want the greatest spoils of war." Muria looked at the little one flapping in his palm, "Give me a reason to give you the heart of the elemental."

"You promised me before."

"I told you to deal with them yourself, not for me to desperately deal with the elemental lord while you watched from the sidelines and then reap the benefits."

"I wanted to help, it was you who told me to observe."

"..." Muria silently looked at Yingdi La, who was blinking her big eyes at him.

"Muria, if you give me this delicious treat, I will listen to you from now on. Whatever you tell me to do, I will do," Yingdi La, feeling the pulsation of the earth elemental lord's heart, stretched her neck looking pitifully at Muria, making an unprincipled promise.

Hearing Yingdi La's words, Muria squinted his eyes. The heart of the earth elemental lord was not compatible with his attributes and could not be used to enhance his power. It could only be inlaid into a staff or weapon, or used as material for arranging magical arrays, offerings for sacrifices to gods, etc.

Thus, this invaluable treasure was of little use to Muria. Weighing the options, it seemed better to use it to increase the favor of Yingdi La, a potential void creature, towards himself.

"Hmm, considering you've been good, this heart of the earth elemental lord is yours." Muria set Yingdi La down, "But only the heart is yours, the body is mine."

"Okay!" Hearing Muria's words, Yingdi La's eyes curved into crescents with a smile.

"Here, take it." Muria went to the remains of the elemental lord, put away the Sun-Chasing Spear and the Demon-Subduing Sword, dug out the heart emitting earthy yellow spiritual light, and handed it to Yingdi La.

"Owow!" Yingdi La took the earth elemental heart, larger than herself, and swallowed it in one bite, looking fully satisfied. Then, her eyes wandered to Muria, who was picking and choosing among the remains of the earth elemental lord with the Seven Sins Blade.

"Go sit aside and digest the heart of the earth elemental," Muria, pulling out a chunk of orichalcum from the remains of the elemental lord and noticing Yingdi La's gaze, said helplessly, "Its body is mine. You can have it after I'm done choosing."

"All the delicious parts will be picked by you, leaving only the unappetizing parts." Yingdi La muttered quietly, still unsatisfied after swallowing the elemental lord's heart, despite feeling very full.

If one had to choose a type of elemental being to battle, anyone would choose to confront an earth elemental.

Not for any other reason but one, defeating an earth elemental yields the greatest reward. Other types of elementals, upon being killed, only leave behind a core if they are of high enough level. Lower-level ones leave nothing at all.

But earth elementals are different; even defeating the lowest-level earth elemental could yield extraordinary metals. Defeating a higher-level earth elemental creature not only guarantees an earth elemental core but also various types and levels of extraordinary or even legendary metals.

In short, the body of a high-level earth elemental creature is far more valuable than its heart.

"It seems my luck isn't bad." Finding a chunk of mithril ore in the remains of the earth elemental lord, Muria smiled, feeling very good.

He had found several types of legendary metal ores, albeit in small quantities, which was still commendable given that this elemental lord was only over ten thousand years old, "young" compared to the ancient lords of the earth elemental plane.

"Not bad!" After digging out a chunk of terracotta gold ore the size of a human house, Muria found no more legendary metal ores, only left with high-purity mid to high-grade extraordinary metal ores.

The earth elemental lord itself was a mobile extraordinary composite metal mine, hence, even Muria couldn't forcibly slash through its body, only able to slowly grind it to death through the soul-destroying property of his weapons.

Of course, the main reason was that Muria's strength was insufficient to fully unleash the power of his unique weapons. If it were a legendary Titan wielding their unique weapon, facing an elemental lord would be similar to Muria cutting down elemental elders, not exactly one slash per elder, but not far off.

...After scavenging the extraordinary metal ores scattered on the ground, the miniature earth elemental realm beneath Muria's feet was almost collapsed, unable to maintain the large passage connecting to the earth elemental plane without the elemental lord's support.

"Yingdi La, choose another target," Muria said without turning his head, his gaze fixed on a purple orb wrapped in countless thunders.

"I choose that one." Yingdi La, who had taken the opportunity to stuff a few extraordinary metal ores into her mouth, looked towards an ice floe of comparable size to the collapsing earth elemental realm beneath their feet.

"I'll go by myself." Seeing Muria extend his hand, preparing to send her off again, Yingdi La quickly added.

"Alright, be careful on your own. Don't wake up that ice elemental lord," Muria advised.

"Got it."

After glancing at the ice floe where the still-slumbering elemental lord lay, Muria spread his wings and charged towards the miniature realm of thunder, roaring with lightning.
