Seeing them like peacocks in courtship, displaying themselves ardently, Muria found it amusing, just as Troy had mentioned.
Humans are superficial creatures, relying mostly on their eyesight to make judgments most of the time.
If Muria's subordinates, the multicolored dragons who had turned into handsome men and beautiful women, were to revert to their true forms, the human nobles would probably be so frightened that they wouldn't wet themselves only if they had exceptionally good self-control. Let alone now, when they are acting like peacocks in heat.
"Hmm?" Muria frowned slightly. Those dragon youths, surrounded by human noble maidens, had already reached the adolescent dragon phase and had developed the necessary capabilities to reproduce.
Thus, they were handsy, not knowing the meaning of the word 'courtesy,' while those noble maidens, having had their 'tofu eaten,' didn't mind at all; instead, they giggled cheerily.
But among these dragons revealing their true nature, there was one who stood out from his kin—Auston, the red dragon. He had the most human noble girls around him but was the most honest among them, hardly touching any of the human females, exceedingly well-behaved.
Most importantly, he seemed extremely impatient. If it weren't for Muria's repeated orders not to start conflicts in the human city, he probably would have exploded by now.
When Muria called out his name after finishing a transaction with a goblin merchant, Auston seemed to shake off an annoyance. After a very rough introduction of these human nobles to Muria, he asked with some urgency, "Muria, when are we leaving here?"
"Now," Muria said, a mischievous smile spreading across her face. She waved her hand, gathering all the multicolored dragons except Auston into a demi-plane, not allowing any struggle or resistance. A bunch of golden-level beings, under her control, could hardly aspire to rebellion.
"Can we wait a moment?" "No need." As Muria raised her hand, the dragons screamed in protest. They were unwilling to return; they had already been approached by human females, potentially ready to move on to the next step. Unfortunately, Muria completely ignored them.
To the onlooking nobles, a black-haired, golden-eyed young man they had never noticed before suddenly appeared, and with a mere gesture, took away the nobles they needed to please. He left only the red-haired, red-armored youth and then gave them a "kind" smile.
Roaring winds and a dragon's bellow shook the heavens. Under Muria's mischievous command, Auston soared into the sky, reverting to his thirty-meter-long red dragon form, and roared loudly.
Muria leapt onto the horns on Auston's head, riding the now restored red dragon into the skies, leaving behind a city of nobles and commoners stunned or flattened by the dragon's might.
Since Auston had revealed his true form and immediately carried Muria away from the city, it caused more of a scare than actual chaos.
In the city, besides the commoners flattened by the dragon's might, the most affected were the human nobles—emotionally scarred.
When Auston reverted to his true form as a red dragon, some nobles went weak at the knees, sitting paralyzed on the ground, unable to help themselves.
"Those guys just now, they were not human, much less nobles," said a pale-faced noble after Muria and Auston had flown away.
"No need to tell us, we all saw it."
"Were we just trying to please a bunch of vile dragons who could have eaten us at any moment?" asked a noble maiden, her face ashen. She had just tried to flirt with Auston, and now her legs shook uncontrollably.
"The black-haired youth riding the red dragon, I think I've heard of him." The stories of Muria had already begun to spread across the continent. As he appeared, some nobles connected the dots with the tales they had heard.
Of course, those who could still speak were the nobles with stronger resolve. Others, with vacant eyes and weak limbs, looked as if they had been terrified out of their wits.
The least composed were those nobles slowly forming a puddle of foul-smelling liquid beneath them. Realizing how close to death they had been, they reacted just so, in stark contrast to those who were still able to chat and laugh, thus forming two distinct groups.
...
"I hope I didn't scare those nobles too terribly," Muria said with a mischievous smile, already high above the clouds, as she began to deal with her gains from the trade with the planar merchant Stallone.
Muria took out the legendary metal she had acquired in the trade, then summoned her nine personal weapons, which orbited around her. She silently observed as ancient
god-script chains emerged from these divine weapons, wrapping around the legendary metals, devouring their essence to enhance their own strength.
In no time at all, the legendary metals were completely consumed by the nine divine weapons, not even a speck remaining. To human-sized beings, these would have been enough to forge a few weapons, but for Muria's personal arsenal, it was barely sufficient.
"This goblin didn't cheat me; the legendary metals are genuine." After her personal weapons devoured these rare treasures, Muria's uneasy heart finally settled down.
Wary of the goblin, Muria always worried about acquiring counterfeit goods. However, from the feedback from her personal weapons, these legendary metals were legitimate.
"Now for you, the Tome of the Mourner." Muria took out a heavy metal book from her spatial ring.
As soon as it appeared, seemingly due to the loss of some suppression, the cursed book began to reveal its true nature. Visible black mist spread from the book, becoming denser, and ghostly wails and demonic howls began to echo around Muria.
"Are you that eager?" Muria's expression remained unchanged, having anticipated this scene—a book that had cursed at least twelve legends, including its original owner, could not possibly remain quiet as it had during the transaction.
"Cackle, cackle!" A wild, unbridled laughter emanated from the book, and the swirling black mist formed a demonic figure with two horns and winged back, twisting as malevolent eyes fixed on Muria.
