"Lord Muria, Lord Muria..." Various voices—gentle, rough, slightly magnetic—called out urgently around Muria, making him feel quite irritated. It was like trying to sleep in summer with a swarm of mosquitoes buzzing in his ears, making him feel agitated and depressed.
"Stop making noise." Muria groggily opened his eyes, revealing a barely perceptible slit. Feeling a splitting headache, his tone became impatient. "Let me sleep a bit longer."
Instantly, all the voices ceased. Muria's surroundings fell into complete silence, except for the faint sound of breathing.
Satisfied that the noise had stopped, Muria closed his eyes again and quickly fell back asleep.
Waking up in an extremely fatigued state, only to realize he could sleep for another hour, brought an unexpected sense of joy. Falling back asleep in such a situation was a kind of happiness.
Time slowly passed as Muria slept. This time, Muria didn't sleep for long—just a mere month, which was like taking a nap for long-lived species.
"Ah—" Muria slowly opened his eyes, looking up at the blue sky of the demiplane, indistinguishable from that of the material world. He yawned long and stretched comfortably and contentedly.
"That was great!" Muria stood up and moved his body, still in his Titan Dragon form. The sound of his joints and bones rubbing together was like thunder, akin to the roar of a fierce beast.
Since his birth, Muria had rarely slept so comfortably. Each time he slept, it was purposeful, either to grow his body or to replace sleep with meditation to rest.
"Lord Muria, you are awake!" A green dragon shadow flew over from the nearby mage tower, landing with a group of dragons of various sizes and colors. They looked at him with eyes full of reverence.
"Hmm," Muria looked around and found himself next to the mage tower, in the unfinished floating city. According to his memory before he fell unconscious, this should be where he had landed.
"How long did I sleep?" Muria examined the crater he had made, feeling somewhat puzzled. These guys hadn't moved him to the mage tower but left him to sleep in the ruins of the city. Although it didn't matter much where he slept, it was still a bit surprising.
"Twenty-nine days."
"Almost a month?" Muria nodded. He had slept for a month, meaning the Kingdom of Lockman had been without its ruler for the same amount of time. The avatar he left to handle affairs must have dissipated by now.
However, the kingdom wouldn't have faced major issues without him managing affairs temporarily. The ancient dragons he had invited had already returned and could keep everything under control. So Muria wasn't in a hurry to leave; there was no need to rush.
"Fiona, accompany me to inspect my demiplane!" Muria's body lifted off the ground, flying towards the edge of the demiplane. Fiona quickly followed with the young dragons.
"It's so desolate!" Muria looked down at the barren land below and sighed. The newly integrated land looked no different from the Abyss land he had seen before, appearing equally barren and lifeless.
"Lord, this is only temporary. Given some time, these areas will turn into lush fields," the ancient green dragon Fiona assured him, patting her chest. "In no more than twenty years, I can transform this mountainous area into a dense forest."
"Very well." Muria smiled with satisfaction at Fiona's words. Although green dragons were evil, they preferred to live in forests. Their scales provided natural camouflage, and they knew how to cultivate plants well.
"Plants are already starting to grow." As Muria inspected his newly expanded territory, he paused in midair. He saw a moonlight grass stubbornly breaking through a stone and swaying in the breeze, a scene that made him feel pleasantly surprised.
These newly converted demiplanes, unlike the Abyss, contained abundant vitality beneath their seemingly desolate and barren surfaces. The countless demons that once fought on these lands left behind blood and bones, which, after being purified by world laws, became excellent fertilizer.
"Lord, we shouldn't go any further. There's a dangerous presence ahead," Fiona said, stopping Muria. Ahead lay an active volcano, with occasional eruptions of red-gold lava.
"A dangerous presence?" Muria looked at the thousand-meter-high volcano, the corners of his mouth lifting slightly. He sensed a familiar aura, much calmer than he remembered, with less violent energy.
"Broken Horn!" Muria shouted, his voice echoing across the desolate land before him. Immediately, some of the dragons following him began to back away stealthily, attempting to escape.
During Muria's slumber, Fiona had explored the new land and was startled by the Balor demon that Anseol had intentionally left behind.
"Rumble!" The volcano roared, with lava gushing out. A colossal figure crawled out from the crater, its dark red eyes fixed on Muria. Under the shocked gazes of the dragons, the Balor demon instantly appeared before Muria, then slowly knelt.
"Lord Muria! My horns have regrown." The kneeling Balor demon shook its head, displaying its massive, imposing horns to Muria.
Hearing the demon's slightly playful words, Muria was surprised as he examined it. The legendary demon had changed significantly, with many subtle alterations, especially in its lower body, where its jointed hooves had turned into humanoid legs, making it look much more pleasing.
"Have you met Lord Ulysses?" Muria asked after observing it for a moment. "The Titan surrounded by golden and black lightning."
"I have met that majestic lord," the Broken Horn Balor demon said with reverence.
"Lord Ulysses is an epic Titan, not a demon lord. Do not mistake it again," Muria corrected with a frown.
"Understood." The Balor demon had no objections.
"Are you willing to sign a contract with me? To become my servant?" Muria asked directly, wasting no time.
"I am willing!"
