Chapter 448: The Wind King Eagle’s “Friendly” Neighbor

"Comfortable!" With a faint smile on his face, Muria, who had reverted to his ordinary human teenage form, stretched as he walked out from the demiplane and returned to the palace.

The Tier 3 Balor had obediently signed a master-servant contract with him. After the contract was successful, Muria immediately had a fight with it to get used to his newly enhanced power.

"Muria, young master!" The golden-haired dragonborn maid, Mia, appeared beside him the moment Muria showed up, looking at him with a concerned gaze, noticing something different about him.

"Did anything happen in the kingdom while I was away?" Muria avoided Mia's eyes, feeling a bit uneasy. His disappearance had been rather abrupt, even he hadn't expected to faint from pain.

"Everything is stable, nothing major happened. Only a few minor issues occurred when Princess Remilia was touring the country and overseeing the city's reconstruction, but they were resolved by the accompanying giants and Mr. Miles."

"Hmm." Muria nodded. Since the issues had already been resolved, there was no need to inquire further.

"However, young master, the World-Stabilizing Giant Beast, the Wind King Eagle, which you are most concerned about, has returned." Mia reported this significant news as she observed Muria's expression.

"Returned?" Muria raised his eyebrows, not too surprised. His parents had returned, indicating the end of this demonic disaster, so it was normal for the Wind King Eagle to come back.

"According to the cloud giants' observations, the Wind King Eagle entered a state of sleep immediately upon its return, but its condition is somewhat different from before."

"Already in a state of sleep?" A trace of delight appeared on Muria's face. Since the giant beast had returned and fallen asleep, he could attempt to implement some of his previously conceived plans.

With this in mind, Muria flew out of the palace and saw the hundreds of cloud islands still floating beside the capital. Even though the Wind King Eagle was done with its task, it hadn't taken away the cloud islands, which relieved Muria.

"Come with me to check on the Wind King Eagle's condition." Muria transformed into a rainbow streak and flew straight to the cloud islands, with Mia following closely behind. Below, a squad of patrolling giants broke off and soared into the sky, trailing them.

"What happened?" Upon arriving at the center of the cloud islands, Muria was surprised to see the giant beast lying in the eagle's nest. This was very different from the first time he saw the Wind King Eagle. Now, it seemed somewhat weakened.

"How many Demon Lord projections did you fight?" Muria muttered to himself. Although he often stayed in the palace, he was well-informed about major events on the continent.

Over the past year, he frequently received reports of battles between legendary beings, most of which were victories from his own elders, with the Titans being invincible. Besides these, the Wind King Eagle's battles were reported most often.

The Wind King Eagle went wherever there was a Demon Lord projection and fought the strongest demons nearby if there were none. It never rested, being even more combative than the Titans.

It seemed to be the Wind King Eagle's creed to only fight the strongest demons. Even with the world's favor, the support of the laws, and top-tier power capable of defeating demigod avatars, it still ended up battered and bruised.

"Is it preparing to lay an egg?" Muria circled the sleeping Wind King Eagle, noticing that its crystal eagle nest was growing upward, seemingly intent on enveloping the Wind King Eagle completely.

"A pretty good way to recuperate." Muria's eyes glinted. Dragons had similar healing techniques. His concern now was how long the Wind King Eagle would sleep.

These giant beasts, blessed with ancestral heritage and the world's favor, were almost immortal, the epitome of longevity. Their sense of time was more exaggerated than typical long-lived species; a slumber of ten thousand years was trivial to them.

Considering such a long time, Muria naturally coveted the cloud islands that the Wind King Eagle seemed to have collected. Since learning from the Golden Dragon Mother that cloud islands could be transformed into floating cities, Muria had set his sights on these islands.

At first, Muria resisted the idea. As a Golden Dragon, how could he covet others' belongings? But imagining the grandeur of traveling the world with hundreds of floating cities, and the help these floating cities would provide for his future goals, Muria felt that he needed to be flexible.

After all, the Wind King Eagle, once asleep, would only need a place to rest. The extra space would be unused. Letting it sit idle was a waste, and wastefulness was shameful. To prevent such shameful behavior, Muria felt compelled to help develop these cloud islands.

"Eagle Brother," Muria landed on the rapidly condensing wind-element crystal eagle nest and called out to the mountain-sized Wind King Eagle, even pushing it lightly. Finding no reaction, his courage grew.

"With your strength, even in sleep, you should be able to hear me, right?" Muria spoke seriously, though it was nonsense. Remaining aware while sleeping wasn't really sleeping.

"I wanted to ask if there's anywhere you'd like to go?" Muria waited a few seconds. Seeing the Wind King Eagle predictably unresponsive, he continued,

"No response, so I guess not. You've lived so long; you must have been to all the interesting places in the world. That's why you parked the cloud islands here. So, you don't mind where you go, right?"

Muria cautiously tested the Wind King Eagle's state. "Ahem, Eagle Brother, I have a small proposal that benefits both of us.

"Look around. Don't you think these cloud islands are too barren and empty? It's not very aesthetic. Wouldn't you be disappointed waking up to such scenery?"

Silence. The Wind King Eagle remained motionless. Emboldened, Muria continued, "I think, given our ten years as neighbors, it's my duty to help you develop and utilize these cloud islands, making them more beautiful and practical."

"Of course, you don't need to thank me. I'll bear the costs and effort to improve the cloud islands. I just hope for some minor, insignificant returns," Muria blushed slightly, rubbing his chin awkwardly. "After I transform the cloud islands, let me and some giants live on them. Just the right to reside.

"The ownership of the cloud islands will still be yours. Of course, during your sleep, I'll decide the movement direction of the cloud islands. It shouldn't be a problem since you don't care where they go."

"Eagle Brother," Muria's blush faded as he convinced himself he was just asking for residence, nothing more, "If you stay silent, I'll take it as your agreement!"
