90 million is indeed very cheap

Su Wanwan remembered that Mengrui had requested her to choose some new necklace sets for her as she angrily stomped by a jewellery store. She took a little pause before pushing open the doors of The Black Pearl Jewellers. This was a recently established expensive jewellery store, but people were already going crazy since they sold unique items.

"I'm looking for some exotic jewels that would make someone easily stand out in a room full of crowded people. Something unique, it may be pearls or diamonds.", she said to a female shop assistant.

"Ma'am please come this way to take a look at our exclusive collection."

Su Wanwan strolled past the display counters, which had a variety of eye-catching items. She understood why BP jewellers were so well-liked in the metropolis these days.

"Miss, I'll help you decide what to pick."

Su Wanwan was stunned to hear the loud, manly voice. She fixed her gaze on the man who just spoke. His physique was rather feminine and sultry in contrast to his masculine intonation. He had a sharp nose, glassy eyes and looked like a gook.

His hair, elegantly dyed in a lustrous shade of silver bestowed upon him a peculiar allure. Adorned in a dark grey one-button blazer, impeccably tailored to his form, and complemented by matching suit pants, he exuded an air of sophistication and refined taste. The sleek ensemble accentuated his commanding presence, effortlessly combining elements of style and confidence.

With each deliberate step he took, his attire whispered of an individual who effortlessly navigated the realms of fashion, leaving an indelible impression on those fortunate enough to cross his path.

"I'm sorry to startle you like that, I'm owner of BP Jewellers, Kang Minghao." He smiled charmingly as he extended his slightly tanned and tender hand towards her.

The startled woman took his hand nervously, flushing deeply as she realised how slender, artistic, and flower-like his finger was. "Oh, so you are the boss here." She then shook her head to jolt herself out of her reverie. "I'm Mengrui's manager, she is an opera singer. I hope you know her. I need to get a neckpiece for her that complements her style and sticks out at a party."

"Yes I know her, Xia Mengrui." Kang Minghao broadened his grin and said, "Let me show you some necklaces that I think will be suitable for her."

His grin made Su Wanwan feel uneasy. She sensed some malice from him, but she brushed it off as paranoia. "Alright, I'll count on you."

She listened intently as he showed her various jewels and described the inspiration behind them.

"What a beautiful design!" With a coy flutter of her eyelashes, she leaned forward and said, "Sir I'm sure, my artiste will like this."

"No, that is not yet for sale to the general public." Minghao let her know and moved on to show her other jewelleries.

Su Wanwan pouted, her face sporting a delicate and cute look. "That's unfortunate, but can't you make an exception?"

The shop workers were disgusted by Su Wanwan's antics; the woman was openly flirting but they didn't intervene. Despite her gentle countenance, she was shameless enough to have ideas on their boss. She occasionally spoke in a coquettish tone and laughed seductively.

"No, you cannot buy it now, but don't worry it will be launched soon. When the announcement is made, you can come and purchase it."

Her eyes widened and she beamed, "En, I'll come again later."

Su Wanwan's eyes twinkled as she viewed the expensive diamonds. She knew she wouldn't be able to afford these jewelleries in her lifetime. She was destitute and dependent on Mengrui; the diamonds cost a few million dollars, which she could not afford. Pushing her depressed thoughts to the back of her mind, she said, "I heard a very exotic necklace was launched yesterday and it's on the limited collection of your catalogue book. Is it available right now? I want to buy it."

"That's already sold out, you came very late miss Su. However you can take a look at this diamond necklace." Minghao motioned the clerks to bring out the piece he was talking about. The necklace appeared to be thick and heavy. With an emerald stone in the middle, it was covered with many obsidian diamonds. It had a gothic and chic look but because the design wasn't at all simple, it wasn't really appropriate to wear to parties.

Su Wanwan was really dazzled to see such a huge piece and immediately liked it. She didn't give much thought to the occasion at hand before deciding to purchase it. "This one is extraordinary, I haven't seen a necklace like this, there are so many diamonds encrusted on it. It must be costly."

"Actually it's not that expensive, it's just 90 million Yuan."

Hearing Minghao say the exorbitant price with a straight face her smile faded. '90 million? Why is he acting as if it's the price of veggies at the neighbourhood market?'

"It certainly cannot be 90 million." She had never seen a bunch of 10 million notes together in her lifetime, 90 million was just too much and Mengrui's entire pocket money for a month was 100 million.

"You are right, it's not 90 million, but actually 120 million yuan. Since it's the last item in the collection and you like it, I offered a reduced price." Minghao said in a blunt manner with a serious expression.

Su Wanwan disguised her sarcastic tone with a grimace and muttered, "90 million is indeed very cheap."

"Isn't it?", Minghao let out an airy laugh that sounded good to the ears, it was rich and attractive. "Because it's for a high profile individual like Mengrui to wear, I'll offer it for a still discounted price, 60 million yuan which is exactly half of the original cost."

Fucking sick, he thinks 60 million yuan is a joke?

"Sure." Su Wanwan softly uttered her words, almost in a hushed murmur and feigned interest in scrutinizing the necklace as her fingers traced the sharp contours.

"Miss Su are you still indecisive?"

'No, but I think you are really exaggerating the price'. She couldn't say her thought out loud while the man gazed at her with an expectant look.

"You see these obsidians are of extremely high quality, it's rare. You will never find another piece like this elsewhere. Only 10 pieces were sold in the entire continent.", he pressed on, his demeanour remained unchanged while a fleeting trace of repulsive emotion shimmered in his eyes like a malicious flame. The flicker of detestable sentiment, with its eerie gleam was beyond the comprehension of Su Wanwan who witnessed it.
