The King’s Confusion (1)

It was already late at night, but the lights in the king's chamber were still on.

As the monarch of the country, it wasn't unusual for him to overwork. When the queen was around, she strictly forbade bringing work into the bedroom, but since she took on the diplomatic mission overseas, there was no difference between the resting quarter and the office.

Yet today, the king remained unmoving on the armchair.

He opened the bottle of wine and poured himself a glass. It was unheard of for the king to drink alone, but with no one to accompany him right now, he finished the chalice in no time.

If his physician saw him right now, he would probably faint at the spot.

The king was fifty-five years old already, but some of his memories from when he was ten were still as vivid as yesterday. He was a little boy back then, but he remembers the Princess of Taranis who he looked up to.
