Chapter 498: Time Dragon Reversal, The Aloof Time Dragon

With the battle's outcome decided, the Celestial Emperor looked at the dragon gods and said slowly, "In the contests of lesser and intermediate divine power, the dragon god faction has one win and one loss."

"The third and final battle of supreme divine power in ten years will determine the ultimate victor of the Warless Contract."

"I can inform you in advance that I will personally participate."

Upon hearing this, the deities' camp was invigorated, while the dragon gods' expressions grew heavy.

This was the Celestial Emperor, one of the few beings at the pinnacle of the multiverse, whose peers could be counted on one hand.

Afterwards, the gods gradually left the Asura Field.

The dragon gods, in their avatars or true forms, gathered in the Hall of Eternal Heroic Spirits.

"The Celestial Emperor is indeed preparing to participate personally in the final battle as the representative of supreme divine power," said Landis, the Just Dragon God, his voice heavy.

"None of us can match the Celestial Emperor."

"Even if Bahamut and Tiamat successfully merge, they would still struggle against the Celestial Emperor, as they are not true main gods."

The sacred white light on the Life Dragon dimmed slightly as he spoke.

The Metal Dragon God surveyed the surroundings and said solemnly, "We still have a chance. As long as the Nine-faced Dragon God is resurrected, we will have the power to contend with the Celestial Emperor."

The Death and Judgment Dragon God said in a low voice, "I have been observing the situation in the Scorched Hell. Before the third battle begins, with the resources of the wild gods, the soul spirit array may not be successfully set up."

The wild gods were acting in secret and could not afford to be overt.

Although they wanted to resurrect the Lord of Terror, the top combat power among the wild gods, before the gods turned their attention away from the dragon clan, the reality was somewhat prohibitive.

"Is that so? In that case, whatever they lack, we will provide," said the Immortal Dragon Queen slowly. "Negotiate cooperation with the wild gods."

The wild gods wanted to resurrect the Lord of Terror.

The dragon gods wanted to resurrect the Nine-faced Dragon God.

There was no fundamental conflict between the two.

Although the best outcome for both sides would be to resurrect their own combat power and devour the other to strengthen themselves, the risk was too great. Neither the wild gods nor the dragon gods could afford any accidents and both desired stability.

Although the wild gods were enemies of all living beings, cooperation was not impossible when necessary.

Moreover, there are no eternal enemies, only eternal interests.

"Cooperating with the wild gods..."

The Metal Dragon God frowned, but after careful consideration, did not refute the Immortal Dragon Queen.

Cooperating with the wild gods would facilitate the resurrection of the Lord of Terror, who would undoubtedly become a formidable enemy in the future. The Lord of Terror was killed by the combined efforts of the Metal Dragon God and the Immortal Dragon Queen, and given the Nine-faced Dragon God's delayed resurrection, there was deep-seated resentment towards the dragon clan.

However, the crisis faced by the dragon god faction was imminent.

As for the potential future enemies, they could only be dealt with later.

"Through the Steel Queen, I have a way to communicate with the wild gods."

"Let's contact them here. I believe they won't directly refuse."

With that, the Immortal Dragon Queen closed her eyes.

After a while, a primordial god-like power descended, filling the space with a deep, dark aura that rippled faintly.

"Dagon, I was quite surprised to learn that you were behind the wild gods' actions," said the Immortal Dragon Queen slowly.

After extracting information from the Steel Queen, the dragon gods learned that the ancient sea god Dagon was the leader of the dormant wild gods, directing their efforts to dissolve the multiverse back to its primordial state.

With Dagon's wisdom and power, he was indeed a rare figure capable of commanding the respect of other wild gods.

"Hehe, as a wild god, it is natural for me to want to create an environment more suitable for myself."

"Speak directly. What is your purpose in contacting me?" asked Dagon.

The Immortal Dragon Queen smiled lightly and said, "You must already know that we are aware of your plan to resurrect the Lord of Terror."

"If you want to resurrect the Lord of Terror smoothly, I can tell you clearly, that is impossible."

Hearing this, the ancient sea god was briefly silent.

If the dragon god faction spread the word, the wild gods would immediately face a siege from the gods. Resurrecting the Lord of Terror would be a pipe dream. With their current strength, the wild gods could not confront the gods head-on and could only act in secret.

"Since you know about it."

"Then you should also understand the situation with the Great Demon Lord and the Nine-faced Dragon God."

"As long as the Great Demon Lord cannot be resurrected, the Nine-faced Dragon God will remain trapped."

The ancient sea god said faintly, "The dragon god faction has no choice. In the third battle of the Warless Contract, without a main god, how will you fight the Celestial Emperor?"

He tempted, "Moreover, the gods target the dragon clan, and countless species view you as the scourge of the multiverse."

"What's the point of clinging to such an era? Why not join us in overthrowing the gods' rule and reverting the multiverse to its primordial state?"

The ancient sea god was skilled at corrupting minds.

However, the dragon gods present were all mentally resilient, and the ancient sea god's mere sliver of spiritual will could not sway them.

The dragon gods, though targeted by many gods, were still part of the ruling class. The Warless Contract was essentially an internal conflict among the gods.

As the ruling class, the dragon god faction would not want to revert to the primordial era alongside the wild gods.

Moreover, true dragons love wealth, enjoy having beings grovel at their feet, singing their praises and deeds, pursuing beauty and food, indulging themselves, and relishing the feeling of being lords. They inherently favored a more prosperous world.

"Enough with the temptation."

"Let's get to the point."

The Immortal Dragon Queen said, "The dragon god faction will provide you with the necessary resources to set up the soul spirit array, separating the true spirits of the Lord of Terror and the Nine-faced Dragon God, allowing each to revive peacefully. Whether we are enemies or allies afterwards, we do not care."

Once the true spirits were separated, the Nine-faced Dragon God could quickly resurrect based on accumulated faith.

The ancient sea god replied, "Oh? Why should I agree?"

"I would rather help the Lord of Terror devour the Nine-faced Dragon God."

"Even without your resources, the soul spirit array will eventually succeed."

Hearing this, the Immortal Dragon Queen's five heads all turned, eyes sharp. "Yes, you may succeed, but I can guarantee that before you do, the gods of the dragon faction will descend upon the Scorched Hell, destroying all your preparations and efforts."

"After all, if we fail in the Warless Contract in ten years, we will fall into an abyss. We have nothing left to lose."

Those with nothing to lose are not afraid of those who do.

The wild gods had a dream of returning to the primordial era and had prepared for endless ages for this resurgence. They did not want to fail again before the real confrontation with the gods began.

Faced with the dragon god faction's desperate stance, the ancient sea god fell silent again.

After some time, he spoke, "Soul crystals, divine iron, ancient gems, flawless negative energy crystals..."

"These are the remaining materials for the soul spirit array. Prepare them and bring them to the Scorched Hell."

"I agree to this deal."

The ancient sea god was also inclined to cooperate deep down.

If they could not resurrect the Great Demon Lord during the Warless Contract, once the contract ended, the gods might notice the wild gods' activities and take action.

The wild gods had managed to act covertly so far mainly because of the distractions of wars stirred up around the dragon clan, which attracted the gods' attention and destabilized the situation, allowing them to operate in the chaos.

"Alright, let's establish a contract."

The cooperation between the dragons and the wild gods was limited to this occasion. Once the Nine-faced Dragon God and the Lord of Terror were resurrected, the cooperation would end, and they would remain enemies.

Moreover, if the dragons won the Warless Contract and became the dominant gods, the first thing the deities would do to maintain their rule would be to eliminate the wild gods.

Soon, the specific contract was signed.

The dragon gods ended their communication with the wild gods.

"Everyone, do not draw attention. Contact the gods of the dragon faction and prepare."

"Once the true spirits of the Lord of Terror and the Nine-faced Dragon God are separated, our cooperation with the wild gods will end. They may harbor malicious intent, potentially leading to a fierce battle."

The wild gods' faction stood against all gods.

Though currently weaker, they remained formidable foes for the individual dragon god faction.

Only with the dragon god faction at its core could they avoid being passive if the wild gods attacked.

After the meeting, the dragon gods kept an avatar permanently stationed in the Hall of Eternal Heroic Spirits, ready to exchange information and respond to emergencies.

The meeting concluded for the time being.

The dragon gods focused on the Scorched Hell, gathering materials.

Shortly after, the materials were collected, and Tiamat, Karaxis, and Garon set out for the Scorched Hell.

Other dragon gods assisted in concealing their movements.

The gods' perception abilities were powerful, often able to detect the

movements of other deities across planes. However, this perception could be consciously obscured by deities of the same level.

Meanwhile, the gods of the dragon faction, though unaware of the true purpose of the dragon gods' journey to the Scorched Hell, followed orders and stood ready to descend at any moment.

During this time, Garon returned to the depths of his dragon lair within the hall.

The battle with Gengchen had not drained much of Garon's energy.

As the Lord of the Heroic Domain, Garon could draw on the vast life energy of the heroic domain even from other planes. Even if weakened by being outside the domain, it still added considerable strength.

The true form of Garon, the divine Garon, and the authority of the Lord of Heroic Spirits combined formed the ultimate version of Garon Aurelian. Gengchen never got to witness this form.

In his lair, Garon closed his eyes, continuing to absorb the waters of the time river and life energy, recovering his minor losses and preparing for the encounter with the wild gods in the Scorched Hell.

"Primordial Sun God, Aheng, will you be in the Scorched Hell?"

Garon thought silently.

True dragons do not forget grudges.

Garon always remembered the Primordial Sun God.

The Primordial Sun God was renowned among the wild gods, possessing god-like supreme power.

He had disappeared without a trace after being severely injured by the gods, and despite extensive searches by the Light God and the Radiant Lord, no trace was found. Garon now believed the Primordial Sun God had been sheltered by other wild gods; otherwise, he should have been discovered.

Perhaps he was lurking in the abyss, within Dagon's shadowy sea.

"Dagon... I had crossed paths with this wild god leader before."

"Unexpected."

When Garon first reached god-like lesser power, the first being he killed of the same level was the Shadow Shallows Lord, who served Dagon.

Time continued to flow quietly.

In just a few days, Garon had fully recovered.

While he was resting in his lair, waiting to depart for the Scorched Hell, the river of time rippled, and waves converged to form a special call for the Time Dragon Reversal, catching Garon's attention.

"It's been a while since the last Time Dragon Reversal."

"About time."

Garon narrowed his eyes, looking towards the river of time, seeking the time dragon calling for his aid.

Seeing the scene before him, Garon's expression turned strange.

In an alternate timeline, on an unknown material plane.

On the shimmering sea, a legendary true dragon about thirty meters long was flying swiftly.

This dragon had crystal-like scales, a graceful form, and as the golden sunlight shone on its crystal scales, it created a dazzling reflection on the clear sea, making it quite eye-catching. Notably, there were rings of black scales on its neck and chest.

This was a beautiful young female crystal dragon, no more than ten years old, appearing very immature in Garon's eyes.

For the second time, Garon encountered a female variant time dragon.

The crystal Garon was holding a large egg with strange patterns in her forepaws, while behind her, fifteen black giant serpents over sixty meters long were writhing through the sea, angrily chasing her.

These were Amorz giant serpents, rare legendary creatures that lived in groups.

The egg the crystal Garon was holding emitted an aura identical to the Amorz giant serpents behind her.

The serpents spat venom like arrows at the crystal Garon.

The venom, smelling foul, turned the seawater toxic, killing countless fish in moments.

One of the crystal Garon's wings already showed signs of venom erosion, covered in black and purple spots, slowing her flight and making her wobble as she fled, looking very distressed.

More venom arrows hit the crystal Garon, making her sway as if dizzy, almost falling into the sea several times.

Eventually, the crystal Garon painfully discarded the egg.

The egg fell into the sea, gently cradled by the water, and was retrieved by the Amorz giant serpents.

Yet, they did not stop pursuing her, closing in as her injuries increased.

"I've returned the egg. Stop chasing me, please."

The young dragon flapped her wings anxiously.

Returning the stolen egg did not appease the serpents.

Finally, as they closed the distance, the largest Amorz giant serpent leaped from the sea, opening its jaws wide to bite the wobbling crystal Garon.

The crystal Garon turned to see the serpent's maw filling her vision, her poisoned vision darkening.

In her daze, her life flashed before her eyes.

At this moment, time stopped.

The towering waves, the roaring sea wind, the fearsome Amorz giant serpents, the surging sea... everything froze.

Simultaneously, a massive silver dragon, over five hundred meters long and resembling a silver mountain, appeared in this frozen scene.

The silver dragon extended its claw towards the crystal Garon, turning it gently.

The invisible power of time gathered, reversing the river of time, instantly healing the crystal Garon's severe injuries.

After doing this, the silver dragon glanced at the crystal Garon indifferently and then disappeared into the river of time without a word, leaving coolly, as if it were a dream.

Only the frozen entities in the time-stop field proved the silver dragon had truly been there.

The crystal Garon stood still, her mind deeply imprinting the image of the silver dragon.

"So cool."

She blinked and muttered.

Then, looking at the frozen Amorz giant serpents, she approached one, pried open its coiled tail, and retrieved the egg with a delighted expression.

Though the silver dragon had left, the time-stop field remained.

The lingering time power solidified the river of time in this area, with no indication of when it would dissipate and allow time to flow again.

"When will I be able to do something like that?"

The crystal Garon wondered.

Meanwhile, in the main timeline, Garon opened his eyes in the Hall of Eternal Heroic Spirits.

Responding to the Time Dragon Reversal, he had taken the aloof route in front of the young Garon, coming and going quickly, doing good deeds without seeking recognition, feeling very satisfied with himself.

Some time later, the materials for the soul spirit array were gathered, and Tiamat, Karaxis, and Garon set off for the Scorched Hell.

Other dragon gods provided support, concealing their movements.

The perception abilities of gods are powerful, often sensing the movements of other deities across planes. However, this perception can be consciously obscured by deities of the same level.

The gods of the dragon faction, although unaware of the dragon gods' true purpose for visiting the Scorched Hell, followed orders and stood ready to assist at any moment.
