Chapter 586: Good Brothers, Die Together!

After a brief and superficial conversation, God-King Zeus left the Golden Sea God Palace.

Inside the main hall of the Golden Sea God Palace, the imposing and tall Sea God sat on his throne, his eyes filled with contemplation, and his fingers rhythmically tapping on the golden armrest.

"Hades, the God of the Underworld, and Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom."

"These two deities, one suppressed under Mount Olympus and the other disheartened, choosing to seal herself in sleep."

Garon pondered deeply.

The two targeted deities, Hades, had no other recourse; resistance would only result in more severe consequences, so he could only endure his anger and unwillingness as he was pressed beneath Mount Olympus.

As for Athena, she chose to sleep not only because her divine essence was damaged and her mood darkened, but more importantly, due to her wisdom, she likely sensed a force plotting against her. With her power weakened, she could hardly fight back, so she chose to avoid the edge by sleeping.

Now, apart from a few long-dormant primordial gods, there was no deity among the Olympian gods who posed an undeniable threat.

The Sea God's azure eyes flickered slightly, as deep as an abyss.

"No need to pretend with Zeus anymore."

"Zeus is surely plotting how to get rid of me; he cannot genuinely trust a Sea God who is not under his control."

"Rather than wasting time waiting for Zeus to devise a way to target me, it's better to tear off the mask while he's still preparing mentally."

"But before that, I need to clearly ascertain the attitudes of other Olympian gods."

Garon sought to ascend the throne of the God-King legitimately as a Sea God without alarming the primordial gods of the Olympian multiverse. For this, pure individual power was insufficient. Otherwise, with Garon's abilities, he could directly challenge Zeus in his capacity as Sea God.

However, the attitude of each Olympian god could not be ignored. Even if he defeated Zeus in battle, if the situation was unfavorable, the Sea God could not ascend the God-King's throne.

Moreover, with Hades and Athena consecutively encountering issues, the gods, if not foolish, could sense something was amiss, clearly orchestrated by a hidden mastermind. In the minds of the gods, who would this hidden mastermind be?

Garon called out from the depths of his heart to Amanata.

"What's the situation in Olympus?"

"I'm ready to overthrow Zeus now. Is the timing appropriate?"

Eternal Day Amanata, disguised as the Sun God Apollo, mainly operated within the Olympian heavens, understanding the attitudes and reactions of the Olympian gods towards Zeus's recent actions.

Because Apollo, like the former Dawn Lord Lothandar, was like a young sun—radiant, handsome, positive, and cheerful—he had a good rapport among the Olympian gods, unlike the Sea God, who was met with much caution and vigilance. Thus, Amanata was the ideal candidate to ascertain the gods' attitudes. Additionally, by switching to the personality mode of the Dawn Lord, Eternal Day could easily portray the disguise, although not as perfectly as Garon, it was still unnoticed by the Olympian gods.

Soon, Eternal Day's deep voice resounded in Garon's mind.

"The Olympian gods generally believe that the recent series of events are inseparable from Zeus and you. They speculate that the God-King is suppressing deities who could threaten his position."

"Even powerful deities like Hades and Athena have encountered misfortune—suppressed or weakened. While fearing Zeus might see them as threats, the gods' dissatisfaction with Zeus has reached its peak."

"I think the time is right."

After Hades was punished and sealed due to the Tartarus incident, the gods did not react too strongly or directly point fingers at Zeus since Hades was not one of the twelve main Olympian gods. But Athena was different. She was a peer among the Olympian gods and ranked highly among the twelve main gods.

When something happened to Athena, all the gods became alert.

None wanted to be the next Athena. They vaguely felt that the current situation was caused by Zeus, perhaps with the Sea God's involvement. As for Apollo, who once suggested to Athena, he was not deeply suspected, with the gods thinking it more likely he was used by the Sea God, which had precedent.

"In that case, let's start directly."

"Zeus is self-opinionated and suspicious by nature, viewing capable deities as potential threats and scheming to eliminate them."

"He is unfit to be the God-King. I will expose Zeus's true nature to the gods."

The Sea God Poseidon smiled faintly, righteously whispering.

At this moment, in the grand and divine-filled Olympus heaven, within the God-King Palace belonging to Zeus, the God-King quietly sat on his throne, his gaze overlooking the vast and empty hall, appearing to revel in his domain.

"Athena and Hades no longer pose threats. Next, I need to find a way to remove my brother Poseidon. As long as Poseidon remains, I can never be at ease."

"Once Poseidon is gone, my position as God-King will be unshakeable, and I can finally rest easy without constantly fearing the gods will usurp my authority."

"But how to eliminate my brother? He shouldn't completely trust me either."

"I promised him the position of the Underworld King to temporarily appease his ambition, but I cannot truly give it to him. Otherwise, with both the Sea God and Underworld King titles, he will be even harder to deal with. I must find a suitable method before fulfilling that promise, before Poseidon senses my hostility."

Raising his forearm, Zeus supported his head with one hand, while the other tapped gently on the throne's armrest, his eyes flashing with thunder, mirroring Poseidon's contemplative stance.

Poseidon, Zeus, Hades.

Among these three brothers, Poseidon was most similar to Zeus, both in character and appearance. Hence, deep down, Zeus feared Poseidon the most.

Suddenly.

While contemplating how to deal with Poseidon, Zeus's gaze hardened, and his expression changed dramatically.

He abruptly stood up, with countless brilliant arcs of lightning soaring around him, brewing a terrifying and destructive aura. At this moment, Zeus's face darkened like storm clouds, his eyes predatory, like a beast ready to devour, his fists clenched tightly, seemingly forming thunderous spears of lightning.

He sensed the shattering of his faith.

In the Olympian multiverse, the faith of many beings in God-King Zeus was plummeting at an unimaginable rate.

Not only that.

Zeus listened intently and heard many of his fervent believers questioning and cursing him, feeling immensely deceived, abandoning their faith in anger, and even developing aversion and hatred towards him.

His gaze pierced the celestial barriers, looking at the outside world, Zeus discovered the cause of the upheaval.

"Poseidon!"

"Do you want to perish with me?"

In the God-King Palace, nearly a roar, Zeus's low growl echoed amidst the rolling thunder.

My back pain flared up again, as the frequency was too high. I went to the hospital today and was diagnosed with a transverse process of the third lumbar vertebra... after getting an injection near the lumbar vertebra, my back hurts terribly. I managed to write a bit.
