Blake yanked his head back when the moon goddess once again tries to attack him.
Similar to earlier, the chakrams were a couple of inches away from ripping his throat open. Blake then frowns in the midst of the fight, 'Her fighting style is way different than her appearance. I thought she would be a mage of some sort, but she's using chakrams instead'
As this moon goddess is wearing a witch hat, Blake assumed that she's a mage.
Turns out he was dead wrong, the moon goddess' appearance is quite deceptive, she uses chakrams to fight. Moving back more and more, splashing the water underneath his teeth, his eyes squinted when he saw an information menu appearing above the moon goddess' head.
[Lvl 511. Goddess of the Cerulean Moon - Dianis]
'Oh my god, level 511?!' Blake shouted inside his head in horror.
Just above the moon goddess' head is her level and name written in deep crimson color.
Blake finds his luck keeps on getting worse and worse.
Not only was he met with an error whilst creating his avatar, but he was now facing possibly one of the strongest Bosses in the whole game. Surely, level 511 is one of the highest-level entities in the game, she's a God.
If he's against a level 511 entity, then he doesn't stand a chance of defeating Dianis.
As his mind started to regulate no notion of winning this fight, Blake calm himself down and tries to think logically. 'If this goddess is really Lvl. 511, she should be able to one-shot me. Since I could dodge her attack, she shouldn't be that strong.
Despite Dianis' ridiculous level, she shouldn't be that strong.
Thinking clearly, a level 511 entity should easily dispatch him. But since reality proves otherwise, Blake is quite sure that there seems to be misinformation here, or the Dianis in front of him is not the real one.
It was then, Salana's voice rings once more which brought hope back to Blake.
'Yes, you're right. What you are fighting now is only a very tiny fragment of Dianis' true self. If you actually meet the real Dianis, the Goddess of the Cerulean Moon, you would die before able to gaze at her'
Upon gaining confirmation from Salana, Blake nodded his head, his eyes now hopeful.
Resuming back the fight, deciding to try and fight back, he was surprised when Dianis' attack didn't stop. Instead of stopping, she spins her body and does a follow-up overhead slash with her flickering chakrams.
At the sight of this, Blake closes his eyes and raised both of his arms up to block.
Swoosh!
Blake felt surreal to find himself managing to halt Dianis' attack in its tracks.
Letting himself be led by the burning sensation inside of him, he pushed her back with a swing of his arms and instantly stepped forward before throwing a straight punch into her stomach.
It was a solid punch, without any obstruction.
Due to the force of the punch, Dianis was sent stumbling a couple of meters back.
'H-How did I do that...? That's cool' Blake thought excitedly.
Since he has been dedicating his entire life to fulfill his promise to his deceased father, he rarely does anything other than work. Blake only did martial arts when he was little, and he has little to no experience in fighting.
But what he did just now was instinctive, completely automatic.
It's not even a stretch to say that he doesn't feel like it was actually him that has done that.
Managing to land a punch, his eyes then landed on the red line on his arms.
Obviously, his power has something to do with Salana. As she said earlier, the red mark and also the burning sensation inside of him should be the thing that Salana did that she said to be bad for him.
If it weren't for that, he wouldn't be able to do this.
Smiling lightly in response, Blake decided to let himself fully immersed in the burning instinct.
"Alright, fight's on!"
Blake dashes straight at Dianis who is already recovered from the punch earlier, she raises her gaze and saw Blake running straight at her. In response, her eyes glowed even brighter than before.
Upon seeing this, Blake can feel the danger from her eyes and roll to the side.
Swish!
Just like what his instinct signaled to him, Dianis shot bluish light beams from her eyes that Blake managed to dodge barely. Sliding on the watery ground, he managed to close the distance and swept Dianis' legs.
Not stopping at that, he tackled her down to the ground.
Splash!
Dianis' witch hat was thrown to the side as she got mounted on by Blake.
But as it turns out, this was a bad move as Blake was headbutted right on his nose, and the pain that pierces his nose caught him off-guard, 'Holy shit! Is this normal? How can she also does street fight like this?'
Following that, two light beams landed on his stomach and send him crashing away.
His propelled body splashes through the watery ground.
"Damn it, that really freaking hurt" Blake cursed, holding his bleeding nose in pain.
As this is the first fight he has experienced while connected to the full-dive VR Helmet that is also connected to his nerves, he was surprised to find that the pain feels very real. It was akin to his nose actually broken from that headbutt.
Despite his eyes being watery, he looks up and saw Dianis descending from the sky.
Blake can see that her chakrams are glowing with bluish energy that seemed to be infused by the moon behind her, and he can feel that this attack is going to be a powerful one. It was then, he feel an itchiness in the spiraling mark on his arms.
Glancing at the marks briefly, he finds that there's a speck of ember coming out of them.
Out of pure instinct again, he reaches out to his back before two small fiery portals appeared behind him. Blake then grab ahold of something inside of those two fiery portals and pulled them out.
Surprisingly, two scimitars, beautiful and blazed with fire were pulled out of the fiery portals.
'It's a family heirloom, I'll smack you a million times if you don't handle them carefully' Salana suddenly chimed in, it was these scimitars that were illustrated in the card inside the Limited VR PK Helmet box before.
Upon holding the two fiery scimitars, Blake smiled from the thrill and excitement.
Although he had already expected something like this when he plays the Lunaris game, the actual feeling surpassed his wildest expectations. Even the heat from the fiery scimitars feels very real, he can feel it directly in his skin.
It was acting as fuel to the burning excitement inside of him.
Clang!
Blake's two fiery scimitars clash against DIanis' glowing chakrams, creating colorful sparks upon impact. Not stopping at that, the two started exchanging blow after blow, trying to break the other's defense.
Each time their weapons connected, a loud metallic sound reverberated to the entire place.
Furthermore, the beautiful arcs of light and fire can be seen following the trails of their weapons, lighting up the dark place with colorful decorations. At this moment, Blake is completely lost in an immersion in the fight.
Despite the pain he was feeling, bit by bit he started to get used to it.
In the real world, even the slightest bit of violence would be punished with jail. Due to that, fighting has become a rare thing. But now, at this current moment, Blake feels that he was actually enjoying himself.
Maybe due to the pent-up frustration and mundaneness of his life, he became like this.
Clang!
Blake parried an attack with a huge smile on his face, countless cuts can be seen all over his body but he ignored them with the help of the adrenaline coursing in his veins. With that parry, he managed to disarray Dianis' battle stance, opening up her defense.
Not wasting time, he landed a turning kick from below strongly.
Compared to the punch earlier, the kick is stronger as it sends Dianis flying a couple of meters back. Blake then pulls on the scimitar back and focuses the fire at the tip of the blade before thrusting it forward.
Swoosh!
A concentrated fire beam shot from the tip, heading straight at Dianis' chest.
Unable to recover quickly enough, the swirling fire beam managed to pierce her through before the fire started burning her entire body. It was then that Blake comes in for the kill, decapitating her with a swing of his scimitar.
Swish!
Dianis' head flew as her neck was sliced cleanly, a cue of Blake's victory.
It didn't take long for her body to slowly turn into the moonlight energy, bit by bit from her body and eventually her decapitated head. Only a couple of seconds passed, and Dianis' entire body has already faded away.
Blake then fell to his knees, panting heavily as the fight has come to an end.
Slowly, the spiraling red mark on his arms also started to dissipate, alongside the two burning scimitars in his hands. "Haa... I did it, I defeated Dianis" he muttered out loud, still trying to catch his breaths.
As he was resting, Salana's voice came again.
'How did you able to use the Fire Incursion skill? The first stage of the Persona Harmony should've only given you a sliver of my weapon mastery' Salana asked with slight curiosity in her tone.
Upon hearing this, Blake shrugs his shoulders. "I don't know, I just did it"
Immediately after he said that he was surprised when a shattering sound enters his ears. Blake raises his gaze and saw the entire dimension of the place he was in was shattering like glass, almost as if the world is breaking apart.
"What's happening?"
'Since you defeated Dianis' fragment, the dimension will not have sufficient energy to maintain itself. It will start to crumble. But don't worry, you should be ejected to the Lunaris world'
"Okay, that's good at least. But what about my race? I haven't chosen anything yet"
Even though he was glad that he managed to defeat Dianis' fragment, he was still worried about his race. Blake still wants to be an Undead, he likes that race the most compared to the other ones.
But that would be a problem if he got another race instead, it would be a bummer.
Although he was really worried about that, Salana's voice didn't come through as the entire place shattered into pieces and he fell into an empty darkness. Even the glowing moon disappears from his vision.
It was then, Blake was completely swallowed by darkness.
~
Meanwhile, somewhere along the barren land decorated with scorched dead trees.
Nothing seems to inhabit the place, there's no sign of life for miles and miles away, a dead landscape. But then out of nowhere, at the center of the place, a pitch-black hole appeared. A figure that seems to be a man fell from it and landed on the rough ground.
"Rrrghh..." Blake grunted when his back hit the ground quite hard.
Struggling to sit up while rubbing his throbbing back, he scans around and finds that he was in the middle of nowhere. The ashen scent fills his nostrils, and he felt slightly dizzy from the stuffy air in this place.
First and foremost, he wanted to check his race in his status window.
As he tries to summon his status window by trying a few words, a holographic menu appears when he calls out 'Status'. But before he can inspect his status window, a sudden migraine attack his mind.
Blake was forced to clutch his head, it feels like a thousand needles stabbing his head.
Countless notifications then appeared and drown his vision completely.
