Blake curls his body while still clasping his head in his hands, the more notifications that appeared in his vision, the stronger the migraine that attacked his mind gets to the point that he couldn't open his eyes.
It went off for a while, and the notifications endlessly appears.
A small ember suddenly sparks near Blake, and Salana appears and went over in concern.
"Blake, hey... what's wrong? Are you okay?"
Since he survived the fight against Dianis' fragment, Salana thought that Blake should be alright. But it seems she jumped to a conclusion too fast, Blake's pained expression clearly indicates that he was not okay.
Blake was completely paralyzed on the spot, suffering from an excruciating migraine.
After about 10 minutes, the pained expression slowly started to ease.
"What was- What was that? It feels like my head was about to explode!" Blake complained as he slowly recovered. Raising his gaze, he finds Salana kneeling beside him, looking at him in great concern.
Despite what he has been through, this somewhat makes him smile teasingly.
"What's this? Is that concern I see in the great Salana's face?"
"Huh...?! Don't get cheeky now, is that how you treat your precious savior?"
Blake chuckled lightly as he got pushed by Salana and landed on his butt, he then proceed to lie on the ground as opposed to standing up, trying to steady his breath for a minute. Even though he was fine now, he could still feel the lingering headache.
"So, are you going to tell me what happened?" Salana asked curiously.
It was clear that something happened to him which puts him in a state of pain like earlier.
Upon hearing this, Blake looks at the cloudy sky above him before he navigates his eyes over to the right corner of his vision where the countless notifications from earlier have been stacked into one pile.
Tapping that pile with his mind, he finds the notification log that he didn't get to see earlier.
Now that he has the time to check the notifications he received earlier during his migraine, his eyes completely shot open as he can't believe what he was seeing. "N-No way, this can't be right. It just can't be"
"What? What is it?!" Salana asked, she was dying out of curiosity.
Seeing that Blake is still stunned while looking at something that she can't see, Salana cursed inside her head. "If only the All-purpose phone is not broken, I should also be able to see what you are seeing" She cries.
But despite her cries, Blake's mind is still on the notifications he was looking at right now.
Each of the notifications showed that he has unlocked a Racial Quest of a specific race. Scrolling through the notification log for a solid minute, he finds that there are definitely more than one hundred of the same kind of notifications.
'Hmmm... Racial Quest should be a quest tied to a specific race to gain rewards'
Comparing this to his knowledge from other MMORPG games, he was certain that Racial Quest is a quest that would give the players the chance to explore and learn more about their chosen race's backstory.
It's a good way to learn about the world and also interact with NPCs of the specified race.
Of course, completing the Racial Quest will give the players rewards such as unique abilities, cosmetic rewards, or even increased reputation to the associated race Kingdoms which would help a lot.
Inspecting the notifications, he finds two categories of Racial Quest.
Some of the races only have a normal Racial Quest, while others have Chain Racial Quest.
Furthermore, the notifications' outline has a variety of colors. Glancing at Salana, he then asked, "Do you know about the grading system of this world? I'm specifically asking for the quest grading system"
"If only we had the All-purpose phone, then the general information will be clear"
Blake could only smile wryly as Salana is clearly being sarcastic, but she eventually sighs and ponders for a moment, "If it's the same as my world, then white is the lowest and black is the highest"
"Same as your world? What is that supposed to mean?" Blake asked in confusion.
Realizing that she has misspoken, Salana shakes her head and waves her hand, trying to dismiss that topic, "I don't feel like talking about it. I'll tell you about it later, when I'm ready at least"
Albeit curious, he decided to drop the subject as Salana is uncomfortable with it.
Putting his focus back on the notifications with the grading system in his mind, he finds that the white-colored notification is associated with the normal Racial Quest, while the black ones are associated with Chain Racial Quest.
It's a consistent cue that he picked while scrolling through the log.
From this cue, he can assume that the higher-grade race has more quests to complete.
Checking the rewards of these Racial Quests, he finds that the rewards for each of the Racial Quests are gaining the race itself aside from the other random rewards. 'Weird... there shouldn't be any way that I can have two races at the same time. At least, that's based on the MMORPG games I played before'
"Is there any way I can let you see the notifications I'm seeing to you?" Blake asked.
Since he has many questions in his head regarding these notifications, he hoped that Salana can see them and answer some of his questions. She seems knowledgeable about the game, so she must know more than him.
Just as she said that Salana's eyes suddenly sparkled, "Oh! I can see it!" she exclaimed.
"Usually, the All-purpose phone has many features and connects us together. But since it's broken, I think you have the authority to let me see the in-game messages by simply willing it" Salana added before she gasped in surprise when she saw the colorful notifications.
No matter how much she tries, she was not able to suppress her surprise.
"Impossible, how can you unlock all of the available Racial Quest inside the game?!"
"I don't know, there seems to be a malfunction due to the incident with Dianis"
Albeit her surprise, she also thought the same thing, this is simply too good to be true. But then, her eyebrows dipped into a frown when her eyes landed on the requirement of completing one of the Racial Quests.
Out of the notifications, she was looking at the Elder Abyssal Dragon one.
"Wait a minute, the Elder Abyssal Dragon race should only be obtained through meeting with Surta the First Void Dragon King, and becoming his daughter's husband. Why is the requirement asking you to go to the Limiter Void...?" Salana mused in confusion.
The Elder Abyssal Dragon race is one of the races she knows more than the others.
From what she remembered, a player would trigger and unlock the Chain Racial Quest for the Elder Abyssal Dragon race when they met with the Wandering Shadow Messenger. It was then the player would be directed to Surta the First Void Dragon King.
It shouldn't involve going to the Limiter Void, but her eyes showed her otherwise.
"Can you search for the normal Werefox race? I need to make sure something" Salana asked.
Upon hearing this, Blake nodded his head and did exactly as she requested.
Salana then reads the requirement before she gasped once again in shock, she couldn't believe the requirement to complete the normal Werefox Chain Racial Quest, "O-Obtaining the Nine-tailed Heartsoul...?" she mutters in absolute disbelief.
Seeing her overwhelmed expression, Blake can't help but feel curious.
"What is it? Is there something wrong with these unlocked Racial Quests?"
"N-No, it's not that there's something wrong. But it didn't follow the normal path"
After saying that, Salana turns her head to Blake before she continues, "Normally, in completion of a Racial Quest, the player would be able to turn into the base form of that race as a reward. Werefox race, for instance, players would start off as a juvenile Werefox with one tail before eventually evolving to the true Werefox that has eight tails through leveling up and completing the Lore Quest"
"But the true Werefox is not the strongest Werefox race. It was the nine-tail that sat at the highest. Players can't reach that through normal means, which is the Lore Quest. It can only be achieved through a hidden opportunity, and that opportunity is meeting another Nine-tailed Werefox, killing it, and gaining the Nine-tailed Heartsoul"
Blake keeps on listening to Salana's explanation attentively.
Glancing back to the Chain Racial Quest for the Werefox race he gained, he then frowns in confusion, "If it can only be gained through that hidden opportunity, then why is it stated in this to get the Nine-tailed Heartsoul in the Golden Fire Grove?"
"I don't know" Salana muttered with the same frown, she has no idea.
She paused for a second before she continues, "But what I do know is that these Racial Quests that you unlocked, it's way better. It tells you about the hidden opportunity and also where to complete the requirement. Hidden opportunity is the inhibiting factor for players to evolve to the highest form of their race, they simply don't know how to evolve their race further"
Upon hearing this, Blake was silent as he realized that he got extremely lucky.
Even though he suspected that this started from the incident of the all-purpose phone malfunctioning, he was glad that it did as he now gained this immense benefit. But then, he remembered something.
"I'm lucky to get this, but can I even have two races at the same time?" Blake asked.
Salana nodded her head, she remembered some instances where a player have multiple races. "Well, there are some ways to have multiple races but you need legendary artifacts, unique abilities, or unique titles to do that"
Instantly after he heard that he went over to the notification log again.
Scrolling through the hundreds of notifications again until the very start, his eyes then landed on a specific notification that he catch a glimpse of earlier during the sudden headache.
[Congratulation, Player MoonDespoiler has gained a unique title, Supernatural Enigma!]
As Salana said title earlier, he remembered that he also gained a title.
Blake tries to click the notification that gives him the Supernatural Enigme title expecting to gain a description of the title, yet nothing happened. 'Maybe I can check the title through my status window'
With that, he tries to open his status window by thinking 'status'.
