World of the Powerful

In spite of his consciousness telling him no, the urge is too strong for Blake to handle.

Even Salana who was sitting on the hood of the sedan car that the woman was about to use to escape earlier was caught off guard, she didn't anticipate Blake to lean forward and satiate his thirst for blood.

Stopping him now would be futile, the woman has already seen it.

'W-What...? I- Is he biting me?' the woman exclaimed in shock, feeling a sting on her neck.

Under the frustration and anger that he was suspected to, Blake simply didn't care and let his animal side come out. Puncturing both of his human fangs inside the woman's neck, he started sucking the blood out of her.

Although he somewhat still has control, it changed when he tasted her blood.

Numbing sensation completely overwhelms his entire senses as his mind solely focused on his tastebuds, the woman's blood is even sweeter compared to the assassins he killed in the game world, and he completely lost control.

Recovering from her daze, she tried to push him back but she was completely helpless.

On top of Blake's strong hand still gripping tightly around her neck, she couldn't budge him from his spot. It was akin to pushing a rock, the urge for blood unconsciously forces Blake to use his full power in leaning forward.

Just like that, the woman could only pound on Blake's chest, helpless in this situation.

It takes about a full solid minute before Blake eventually pulls himself back, his lips are already smeared with scarlet blood, and he even groans in satisfaction as the taste of blood rejuvenates his entire body.

Even the injuries he sustained started to heal, steaming and closing.

Despite not being as fast as his avatar's healing factor, this is still beyond human limits.

"Phuaah! No wonder the Vampires in the movie can't help themselves, the taste of blood is simply wondrous. Like crystal clear water after three days of not drinking anything, it's refreshing!" Blake commented as he wipe the blood on his lips.

Upon seeing that Blake has regained his mind, Salana scoffed from the side.

"Earth calling for Blake, when I said that you should act as if you were inside the game world, I don't mean to this extent dumbass. Now what are you going to do?" Salana said, face-palming herself.

Blinking his eyes a couple of times, Blake also paused, "O-Oh, I think I went overboard..."

Looking around the place, Blake sighed in relief finding that the entire place is devoid of people. Not even a single car can be seen except for the one beside him, and nobody should spot what he did.

After confirming that he was good, he then shifted his attention back to the woman.

Since Blake drinks quite a bit of blood from the woman and lost himself for a moment there, the woman has turned quite pale, and she even struggled to keep herself prostrating on the ground due to how weak her body becomes.

"Where's your car key?" Blake asked.

Not receiving any answer, he then checked the car and find the key in the keyhole.

'I can't leave her now, she already saw that I'm a Spectral Vampire. But then again, I was already planning to bring her back to explain to me about everything' Blake thought, he then carry the woman and puts her inside the car before the two of them left.

About five minutes later, Blake managed to reach back to his apartment room.

Despite only going from the building across to his apartment building, he needs to stop by the toilet to wipe the blood from his face and also got a little bit of trouble with the security as he can't find the parking ticket.

But Blake used the woman's condition as an excuse, saying that it was an emergency.

Thankfully, the security is nice enough to let him go.

Making sure that nobody is around, Blake opens the door and brought the woman inside. Not even treating her gently, she threw her to the sofa before his attention went back to Damon and Hunter's corpses again.

'What am I going to do about them...' Blake thought with a sigh.

In no realm of possibility that he would find himself in a situation that requires him to dispose of dead bodies, he's an upstanding citizen, and yet here he is confronted by the exact situation he never imagined he would be in.

Although her vision is hazy, she was still surprised to see her comrades' corpses.

Both Damon and Hunter that were quite notorious in her line of field lie dead in a nobody's apartment room, the horror was too much for her to handle, and as she watches Blake cleaning the room she fell unconscious.

An unknown amount of time passes, and the woman slowly opened her eyes.

Upon opening her eyes the woman jolted in shock and scurries back when she finds Blake sitting on a chair facing her. It was then her back hits the headboard of the bed, and she finds herself to still inside the apartment room.

Inside the bedroom, it seems. But her limbs are not tied or anything.

However, despite not being tied, there was no intention of her running away whatsoever.

Knowing that the person in front of her is basically inhuman, and even drinks her blood for measure, she doesn't want to instigate more or she'll lose her life. 'I need to stay on his good side or he'll kill me for sure...'

"So are you a Vampire?" the woman asked, her voice hoarse.

Blake looks at the woman with an expressionless face before he takes a glass of water from the side and gave it to the woman. Seeing that the woman didn't take it, he smiled lightly, "I don't know what kind of work you're in, but this is only water. Remember? I'm an ordinary guy"

Clenching her jaw, she grabs the glass of water and chugged it in one go.

"Now that we're both in a perfect state of mind, tell me what is your purpose here and what did I get myself into? Don't try to lie, I'm not a bad person, so I don't want to have to kill you" Blake asked nonchalantly, he seems more composed now.

Upon hearing this, the woman bit her lower lip, she seems to be hesitating.

Eventually, knowing that there will be no chance of escaping if she didn't provide the information and also show the merit of having her alive, she decided to explain the situation to Blake.

"This all started about a week ago..."

About a week ago, the hidden leaders of the world came across a powerful entity.

It came out of nowhere, and this happened right at the same time, and it's also worldwide. Of course, it's unknown how this powerful entity chooses who it shows itself, but this incident causes quite a sensation in the world of the powerful.

The exact conversation with the powerful entity is unknown, yet one thing is certain.

The powerful entity relies upon a message about the fact that the Lunaris game is some kind of conduit that will help the people of the world to fend off something called the Inevitable Apocalypse. For Blake, this is not surprising information as he already knows this from Salana.

But then, the woman's latter explanation started to become interesting.

Each of the chosen powerful people is owed a Limited VR Helmet, there are seven types of these Limited VR Helmets. It will be delivered to them through the developer company of the Lunaris game, which turns out to be a fake company.

In actuality, it's only a place where the powerful entity creates the VR Helmets.

Normal VR Helmets are distributed to the game shop across the country and the whole entire world, while the Limited VR Helmet is delivered by the special forces and secret services to the person chosen by the powerful entity.

Due to the complexity of the Limited VR Helmet, it came a day after the launch of the game.

Of course, knowing that the Inevitable Apocalypse is coming, the other powerful people that caught a whiff of this information and didn't get chosen try to steal it and use it for their own benefit. Maura said that she was forced by one of those powerful people to take this job.

Her employer's identity is unknown, but she was tasked to retrieve the Limited VR Helmets.

"Many mercenaries and special forces were trying to get the Limited VR Helmets in that truck that night, we are the first ones that caught the truck, and you were there. Most of them are probably still around the area, you'll need to be careful" the woman eventually said.

Upon hearing this, Blake was put into his own thoughts.

It seems what he and Salana thought were true, the powerful people of the world are the ones managing these Limited or regular VR Helmets. The so-called powerful entity is the one making the product and leaves the rest to the inhabitants of the world.

Additionally, the fact that there are more people after him is worrying.

Knowing the full bearing of the Limited PK VR Helmet, Blake can't really give it up.

Just like Salana said, the Limited PK VR Helmet is already bound to him. Even if Blake wanted to give it up, he couldn't. But these powerful people that are after it doesn't know that, so they wouldn't stop until they get their hands on it.

'Man, I only wanted a break from work and play games. But this happens...'

On top of that, Blake could feel his body shivering from the thought that he stole the Limited PK VR Helmet from Maya, that turns out to be one of the chosen and most powerful people in the world.

Nobody knows who she's, and as far as Blake is concerned, she could be anyone.

Could be a political leader, could be an underground mafia boss, or even a hidden power that controls the world from the shadows. But no matter what, she's definitely very much a dangerous person.

Blake couldn't imagine what kind of person she is, and hopefully wouldn't need to know.

"Look, I know that we didn't start off well, but I can help you. Now that I've given you the information and failed the mission, I can't go back. If I did then they will kill me. So please, give me a chance, and don't kill me" the woman pleaded.

Upon hearing this, Blake gave her a side eye before standing up, "What's your name?"

"M-Maura..." the woman, Maura replied.

Pondering for a moment with his back against Maura, he then eventually nodded his head before looking over his shoulder, "Fine, I'll trust you. Since I am kind and understand that this is your job, I'll give you a chance to prove if you're any use to me"

Before Maura could celebrate, Blake's expression darkens and his eyes glowed red.

"Just remember this. If you lie to me, I will kill you. If you try to flee, I will kill you. And if you try to jeopardize me, I will kill you. My eyes can always find you, and I don't want you to find out what I got in store if you do any of that. So stay on the bed until I said so" he added with a grim voice filled with threat.

Seeing his expression alone, Maura quickly nodded her head, her body trembled in fear.

Not stopping at that, Blake continues, "Also, I also need you for something else"

"Anything, as long as you give me a chance," Maura said, her eyes lit up.

But her sparkling eyes didn't last long as Blake smiled and said, "If that's the case, then you're also going to be my personal blood bag! Any time I want blood and couldn't hold it in, I'm going to drink your blood"

"E-Eh...? I'm sorry?!"
