Opening his eyes in the game, Blake was immediately confronted with a difficult situation.
Blake's eyes were jolted awake when he heard a loud scream that he was quite sure belongs to Tara, he then saw the entire room is in a mess, and there are two assassins on the other side of the room.
It was quite obvious to him that the assassins that were after the two girls came.
'One fight onto the other, I really want to take it easy so what the fuck is this, man?' Blake complained inside his head, this is not what he was expecting when he logged back into the game to check on the two.
But it seems he woke up right on time as he saw one of the assassins trying to attack Tara.
Since it was nighttime, his senses were heightened to an insane degree and he could even hear the whistling sound that the arc of the dagger made as it makes its way towards Tara. In reflex, he stretched out his hand and caught the blade of the dagger.
Clank!
"B-Blake!" Tara exclaimed, she was surprised to find him awake.
Realizing that the person lying on the bed that they thought was a nobody sitting up and caught the dagger of the assassins, the assassin jumped back to his comrade while eyeing Blake with caution.
Catching the dagger is surely harder than parrying it.
Just from this alone, the two assassins become alert, they could tell that Blake is strong.
Getting up from the bed nonchalantly, Blake stares at the two assassins with his piercing purple eyes that seemed to glow in the darkness of the room. Pointing at the two assassins playfully, he then smiled, "Both of you are fucked"
"Hmmm...?" the two assassins were confused when they heard this.
But immediately after that, the two felt an incredible blow to their chest in an instant.
Upon feeling the incredible blow that the two suffered without even reacting, they looked down and finds both of their chests has a huge hole in them almost as if something drilled through them.
[Level 27 Assassin Killed!]
[Level 24 Assassin Killed!]
[Obtained 55,500 Exp]
[Level up!]
[All stats has been increased accordingly]
Knowing Blake's power already, Tara doesn't seem to be surprised by this.
"What happened while I was gone?" Blake asked as he gets up from bed, stretching his body.
Realizing that she could only rely on Blake, she quickly pulls out the needle on her chest and held his hand. It was then her eyes began to become watery, on the brink of tears from worry which is surprising considering she was an assassin.
"Please, help me get back Lady Linthia. I'll do anything, but please help me!" She pleaded.
Seeing the tears drizzling down from her eyes, Blake was stunned for a moment.
But as he was looking at Tara's teary eyes, he just noticed something more in the information menu above Tara's head. Aside from showing her name, level, HP, and MP, it also shows intimacy which he didn't see before.
[Intimacy: 50 (B) - Tara perceives Player MoonDespoiler favorably]
'Was it always been there?' Blake thought.
Realizing that she was actually crying for real, Blake quickly averted his gaze elsewhere.
'Now that I'm looking at it, I'm not really good with tears. Did she even need to go to this length? I'll help her as I also can kill these assassins and level up quickly. It's basically a free dungeon for me, as long as the assassins are only this strong' Blake thought, rubbing his temple for a moment.
[Tara is offering player MoonDespoiler a quest!]
[Quest Reward: 350,000 Exp and NPC bonus]
[Quest Penalty: -500 Infernal Veiled Assassin reputation]
[Would you like to accept the quest?]
[Yes or No]
'Oh my god, 350,000 Exp? I don't think this quest will be easy, the reward should be proportionate to the difficulty of the quest, right?' Blake thought with a wry smile, this is going to be the hardest quest he would be accepting.
But also, he noticed there was a quest penalty if he decided to accept it.
Just looking at the quest penalty alone makes him frown as it's quite weird, 'Wasn't Linthia and Tara came from the Infernal Veiled Assassin? How is saving Linthia reduce my reputation and even put it into the minus?' he thought in confusion.
If he was saving a person from a guild or an organization, the organization should favor him.
Although that is the case, Blake could only attribute this to one thing, and that is the fact that he didn't know anything about the situation inside the guild. Surely, it is way more complicated than it seems.
Linthia is an important person, he knows that. But this brings it to a whole new level.
Pondering for a moment, Blake decided to accept the quest as he simply couldn't see Tara helpless like this. He has quite an impression of her due to their journey. She was a strong and cautious woman when he met her, and this state that she was putting is simply not it.
Additionally, the worst that could happen to him is dying.
Dying would only mean being respawned somewhere else for him, not a big deal for him.
On the other hand, Tara and Linthia would probably die for real if they died in this game world. Despite the two of them being actual NPCs, they were acting almost as if they were real people, and there was no need for him to act cowardly.
Firming his belief, he decided to accept the quest offered by Tara.
[Player MoonDespoiler has accepted the quest from Tara!]
[Quest - Save Linthia]

Upon seeing the notifications from the system, Blake paused for a second.
Even Tara was confused when she saw Blake has a devious smile on his face, almost as if he was excited about something. But then, he suddenly opened his mouth, "Tara, I'll help you but I have a condition for you. Will you be fine with that?"
"I said anything, I'll comply with your condition" Tara replied quickly.
Finding that there was no hesitation from her to answer that, Blake nodded his head as he feel that he could trust her, especially if he had done so much to help her and Linthia, "Okay, if you're willing, then whatever you see today... I want you to forget it"
"Huh? What do you mean by-"
Just as she was asking, Blake walk past her and went to the two dead assassins.
Not even wasting a single second he quickly suck the blood out of the two of them and replenish the Blood Reserve he used to cast two Blood Lances earlier, he drained the two corpses completely dry.
Tara covered her mouth when she saw this, this is beyond her wildest expectation.
"A-Are you a Vampire...? How did you get inside the kingdom?!" Tara exclaimed with a whispering tone, her eyes were opened wide as if she was looking at a monster that she has never seen before.
Upon hearing this, Blake chuckled, "You could say that, are you going to change your mind?"
[Congratulation! Blood Reserve capacity has been expanded!]
[Blood Reserve: 2,000 -> 5,000]
'Oh? The capacity is increasing, this is good...' Blake thought.
"N-No, I still- I still want you to help me rescue Lady Linthia" Tara stutters but eventually steeled her resolve. No matter what, Linthia's safety is the first priority right now, regardless if Blake turns out to be a Vampire.
Blake smiled, "Well, alright then. Let's save Linthia..."

Meanwhile, in another part of section four, Carymount City.
"BlueBlade, what should we do about that Tara girl? Should we go back and finish her off?" an assassin, clad in an all-black outfit asked while eyeing the inn that they were from earlier to retrieve Linthia.
But the assassin with the blue dagger, BlueBlade chuckled in response.
Looking at the inn with a mocking smile, he waved his hand nonchalantly and turns around, "No need for that, let her suffer knowing that Linthia is in our hands. She has been beside Linthia ever since little, so this will hurt her way more than death. I'm sure she's in tears right about now"
"We'll use Linthia to make him yield, Grandmaster Mallory will be delighted" he added.
Just when BlueBlade was about to leave, the other assassin who was carrying the unconscious Linthia glanced back at the inn with a frown, "What about GhostSaw and SilentStar? I think they are in trouble, Tara is quite stronger than them. Even with the needle darts, I think she could still beat them"
"If they couldn't escape, they are unworthy of being assassins" BlueBlade replied and left.
Deciding that their job here is over, the two assassins leaped through the buildings silently without anyone below that were roaming the city streets noticing. "Call back the other squad, we got Linthia, and we are done here" BlueBlade commanded.
"Yes, Sir" the other assassin nodded his head and contacted the other squad.
Taking out a talisman from underneath his all-black outfit, the assassin called the other squads to retreat. In response, the other squads confirmed and headed to the meeting point before they could go back.
Along the way to the meeting point, the other assassin looks around warily.
"BlueBlade, shouldn't we be more discreet? Some of the stronger people below would notice us if we're not using any cloaking magic, the guards would be waiting for us at the meeting point if that happens"
"Don't worry, the guards wouldn't intervene"
"Why is that?"
"Even though it's subtle, we know that the mayor is helping Linthia and Tara and pretending to help us in our search. We could let it slide since he didn't do it blatantly. But if he butt in further, the Grandmaster wouldn't be happy and he will be in trouble"
In a moment, the two eventually arrive at the meeting point.
The meeting point is a tiny bar on the corner of a deserted street of section four, and nobody is staying there. The owner is a very old man, so it's perfect a perfect place to prepare themselves for their departure from the city.
Upon reaching the bar, the two went inside and find nobody inside except for the old man.
Looking at the two assassins that barged into the bar, the old man looks up and smiled lightly, "Welcome back," he said with his frail voice, "What do you want to drink? I'll bring it to you immediately"
"Old man, have the others not arrived here yet?" BlueBlade asked with a frown.
Out of the squads, the two of them were the furthest from this point, so it's weird to find the other squads didn't arrive here first. "No, you two are the first to come back. None of you guys came back after you left"
Despite the oddness, BlueBlade decided to sit and waits after ordering rum.
Just then the other assassin glanced outside when the two of them heard a thunderous explosion in the sky followed by soft pitter-patters that grow louder and more insistent with each drop that cascades against the window.
Drumming against the glass like an ominous plea for entry to the bar.
"It's raining..." the other assassin mused to himself.
BlueBlade on the other hand couldn't sit still on the chair when he saw that it started raining, he was calm before but this is almost a sign that something is going badly, "I don't like this feeling, something is wrong"
