Maura closed the door of the apartment room once again.
A moment ago, Blake has already announced himself as a Vampire and also drinks Steel's blood forcefully. Now that he knows there were monsters out there similar to himself, he feels bolder than usual.
Blake also learned more about his compelling ability on regular humans.
It seems he could only compel people that he has already tasted, he needs to drink their blood first in order to actually compel them and put them under his control. He tried compelling Steel before drinking his blood, and that ultimately failed.
On top of that, the power of his compellation depends on the target's view of him.
Despite only wanting to test how far his compellation ability could force Steel to do, he tries commanding Steel to kill himself and that too ended up in a fail. The inner defiance weakens his ability, and that's good to keep in mind.
But then again, this got Blake thinking about Maura, 'My control over her is very strong'
'She didn't even get down from the bed when I compel her to stay. Is she naturally that obedient or are there more factors that made her act like this? I need to test more about this ability, this going to come in handy in the future' he thought, nodding his head.
After testing his ability, Blake commands Steel to keep an eye on the Pumpkin Man.
In order to approach the Pumpkin Man, he should know who he's dealing with first. Maybe he could compel someone near the Pumpkin Man to search his house for information, that's a possibility for him.
Glancing at Maura nonchalantly, Blake then asked, "Are you sure you're staying?"
"I already told you, we're on the same team. Similar to you, I'm also stuck in a problem that I don't want anything to do with. Why not work together if we're on the same boat...?" Maura replied, shrugging her shoulders.
Dangers loomed around her, and she couldn't help but clutch to the strongest person.
Upon saying that, Maura then shifted her eyes to the side and saw Blake's phone buzzing a couple of times. It's been doing that from the moment the two of them reached back to the apartment.
Pointing at the phone, she then said, "Blake, you're phone is ringing. It might be important"
Blake jumped from the sofa when he heard this, he realized that today should be the day he met with Angel. Currently, his avatar is in a carriage heading to Einora City, he should have already arrived by now.
Looking at the notifications, he finds that it was Angel.
Sighing to himself, Blake decided to log back into the game while thinking about his plan.
It's true that he needed to be alert in case there was more trouble coming knocking on his door, but he got Maura on his side, she should be able to perform well as a bodyguard for him while he's playing the game.
Maura could wake him up if anything came up more efficiently than Salana.
"Hey, come here..." Blake commanded.
Upon hearing this, Maura went over to him without saying a word before Blake lifted her chin, forcing her to look at his eyes. Realizing what he was about to do, she averted her gaze elsewhere, "Can you not compel me...? I saved your life, I think that's enough to gain your trust"
"Hmm... should I trust you?" Blake asked back with a calm voice.
Not expecting her request to work, Maura looks back at him expectantly but she finds that Blake was smiling teasingly, "Don't make me laugh. Trusting you, no matter how small, have a chance of being betrayed, and compelling you doesn't"
Without waiting for Maura to say anything, Blake's eyes glowed red.
"Don't leave the apartment room, keep a lookout for any sign of danger, and don't attack me when I'm playing the game. Only stop doing that when I told you so, do you understand?" Blake commanded sternly.
In response, Maura's eyes also turned red before she nodded her head.

A moment later, Blake logged back into the game and finds the sun blinding his eyes.
Blake needed a couple of seconds to adjust to the light, and when he did, he finds himself inside somekind of a hut with the necessary furniture of a room made of wood. It seems he was not inside the carriage anymore.
"Are you usually a heavy sleeper like this...?"
Out of nowhere, a voice came from the side, it was Linthia sitting on a chair.
Not intending to answer, Blake then asked back, "Where are we?"
"Einora City, you didn't wake up no matter how hard me and Tara tries to wake you up. So we decided to rent a room and waited for you to wake up" Linthia explained, she seems to be worried but she doesn't express it to Blake.
Just as the two looks at each other, both of them averted their gazes at the same time.
'Shit, I remembered her kissing me. It's hard to look at her normally'
'Aahh... what am I going to do? I'm too embarrassed to face him right now...'
Dwelling inside their heads for a brief moment, Blake then gets up from the bed and clears his throat, "I believe Einora City is way safer, am I right? The assassins shouldn't be attacking you here"
"Yes, this place is quite far. But I don't know, they might still attack" Linthia replied lightly.
Upon hearing this, Blake nodded his head in understanding.
Although this place is in another kingdom and is quite far from the Infernal Veiled Assassins Guild's headquarters, there might still be a chance that they could find them here. So Blake couldn't afford to become too careless.
"If that's the case, stay here with Tara. I'm going out for a bit" Blake said and walks out.
Reaching the hallway, he was surprised by the sight.
The inn he was staying at right now is vastly different compared to the inn in Carymount City, everything is made of wood and there are many glowing bulbs of light on the side, fueled with green magic.
On top of that, this place is made on a big tree and the air here feels very fresh.
Looking out of the opened window along the hallway, Blake was surprised to find the beautiful nature scenery filling his vision. Not only the trees and surrounding vegetation but also insects and birds that chimed and buzzed like a melody.
More importantly, there were Elf people walking the road, and this makes him excited.
"B- Blake...?"
"Hmm...?"
Upon hearing someone calling his name, Blake turns around before he saw an Elf coming from the end of the alley. She looks extremely beautiful with her short light red hair that is tied into a ponytail and mesmerizing pair of green eyes.
On top of that, her outfit is also pleasing to see the eyes.
The Elf wore neat pale green shoulder armors as well as intricate vambraces. Her upper body is covered with a crop combat shirt while her lower body is covered with a pale green cloth, only hiding her private area and strapped with a leather belt.
She looks like a hunter, especially with the sword on her back and her roots tattoos.
Additionally, her pointy ears were pointing down at the sight of Blake. She was definitely surprised, and she was looking at Blake as if she recognized him. But when he looks up to her information menu, Blake realized who it was.
It was actually Angel, the inn he was in right now should be the one she was staying at.
[Lvl 18 - Lavina17 ]
Realizing that it was Blake, Angel ran toward him and gave him a big hug.
"Woaah..." Blake utters in surprise.
Even though he was also excited to meet with her a couple of days after their encounter in the park, he thought that he was the only one excited the most. But it seems he was wrong, Angel is also excited.
While still wrapping her arms around him, Angel then said, "I thought you bailed on me"
"No way, I wouldn't do something like that. If I can't come then I would've told you that I couldn't make it" Blake replied with a light smile, he also braced himself and hugged Angel back in response.
Staying in this pleasant position for a moment, the two then pulled back from each other.
Angel looks up at Blake's information menu before she covered her mouth and gasped, she was surprised to find that he was level 32 and he was also the infamous MoonDespoiler that everyone is talking about ever since the world announcement appeared.
"I thought you were joking, but you're actually the MoonDespoiler?!" She exclaimed.
Upon hearing this, Blake scratches the back of his head and couldn't help but smile. It's been so long since he received a woman's attention like this, "Am I really that famous? I only got lucky, it's not that big of a deal"
"Oh~ Being modest, I see" Angel nudge his stomach with her elbow playfully.
Blake chuckled when he saw this side of Angel, she was playful when she was outside but she was even more playful inside the game, "If that's the case, then can I rely on you to become stronger? Pretty please~" She added pleadingly.
Looking at Angel's pleading expression, Blake's heart melted instantly.
"Of course, show me the way! I'll help you get stronger as much as you want, there's nothing stopping me from helping you level up" Blake announced, pounding his chest proudly with a bright smile on his face.
Seeing this, Angel's smile blooms even wider, "Yay~ Let's go then!"
Just like that, the two head to the exit while bantering with each other in a spirited manner.
"That being said, why is your avatar similar to your actual self?"
"I didn't put much thought into it"
"It's okay though, you already look good already. I really like your purple eyes"
"Don't flatter me like that, my heart is beating too fast right now"
Oblivious to the two of them, Linthia was standing in front of the room and looked at their backs with a frozen expression. She was about to ask earlier where Blake was going, but she saw this scene instead.
Now she knows why Blake wanted to come here, 'Is that his girlfriend...?'
'But how could he know anyone from the Elf Kingdom when he didn't even live here? More importantly, why is my chest feels like burning?' Linthia thought, putting her hand above her warm chest that is in pain at what she had witnessed just now.
