A Fight Between Undead

Spending time with Angel is a temporary break for his mind to forget everything.

Angel's reaction to different situations is quite pleasant to see even though it frustrates him sometimes, especially when he saw her avatar build earlier. In addition to her lifting bearing, Blake feels comfortable when around her.

Even then, it didn't wipe the anger inside of him but only suppressed it momentarily.

Now that he was confronted with the Twin-gun Revenant, that anger resurfaced and he now needs something to vent his anger on. If anything, despite the bad situation he's in, this will at least provide him with some relief for his anger.

In his life prior to that fateful night, he has always kept his composure.

Living his life in a composed manner is always his way of avoiding unnecessary pain, being angry always makes him tired so he decided to stop taking anything to heart. Even when he got fired, he didn't lash out at the manager or his co-workers.

But it seems that day when he got fired unjustly is the day his mindset becomes loose.

Maybe if he was in the real world he would be able to hold back his anger more effectively. But inside the Lunaris game, there's no need for him to do that, he would use this chance to vent out his exasperation and anger.

Getting into his battle stance, Blake has quickly done some upgrades to his skills.

Currently, he still has 11 Class Skill Points available to use use.

Knowing that it would be a very tough fight against the Twin-gun Revenant, he decided to use 5 points to upgrade his Colossal Slam skill mastery to Perfect, and also spend 6 points for his Gladiatorial Focus skill mastery in preparation.

It cost him 1 point to upgrade the Gladiatorial Focus skill mastery since it's a D-grade skill.

On top of that, the skill evolved into its upgraded version, Expert's Zenith Focus.

[Expert's Zenith Focus]

Type: Gladiator Class Skill

Grade: C

Skill Cost: Mental Fatigue

Description: A skill that is possessed by Expert Gladiator. Upon being confronted in a one-on-one fight, the player enters a state of focus and mastery. In this state, the player got an additional 8% physical stats while also increasing their reflex and attack accuracy. During the activation of the skill, the player will feel mental fatigue that will get weaker with a higher SPT stat.

Upon upgrading his skills, the Twin-gun Revenant made his move.

Pointing both flintlock pistols forward, the barrels surged with dark energy, charging to fire.

Blake squinted his eyes before his mind was cleared of all things that might scour him from focusing, he then sprinted to the side when the Twin-gun Revenant used its Twin-gun Barrage and started firing multiple shots.

It was quite difficult to outpace the barrage with his current speed but he managed to do it.

Despite it being the first time the Twin-gun Revenant uses that skill, Blake decided to also use the same logic he figured out before, there should be a few seconds' gaps that he could use when the Twin-gun Revenant was not able to shoot at him.

Casting the Shadow Step skill, he vanishes from the spot.

Scanning the entire room, the Twin-gun Revenant seems to be confused as to where Blake has disappeared to. No sign of presence can be felt inside the room, but it was then a figure emerged from the side.

In order to catch this monster off guard, he uses both Shadow Step and Ninja Step skills.

Managing to reach its back, Blake clenched his fist strongly.

BAM!

Enhanced with both his Colossal Slam skill that has reached perfect mastery as well as the Umbral Fortitude to enhance his fighter gloves, the Twin-gun Revenant got sent crashing forward into the gate of the room.

[- 7,300 HP]

Just like that, Blake decided to use the same strategy and disappeared once again.

None of the two was able to properly sense another due to being Undead. Both are only sensitive to the presence of life. However, both were Undeads so they could only rely on normal senses alone in this fight.

Blake was able to take advantage of this situation with his shadow skills.

[-3,100 HP]

[-5,800 HP]

[-4,400 HP]

[...]

[87,500 / 111,000]

The Twin-gun Revenant was overwhelmed by this, it was not able to properly react to Blake.

Under the constant attack with Blake coming in and out of the shadows like an actual phantom, he was able to chip down the Twin-gun Revenant's HP. If it continued like this, then taking down this Hidden Boss would be easy for Blake.

Soon, it turns out it was naive for him to think of that so quickly.

In an instant, Blake appeared on the Twin-gun Revenant's right intending to attack him again. But his eyes dilated seeing that the Twin-gun Revenant takes off his top hat before it started to spin on its hand.

Despite realizing what he was trying to do, Blake couldn't change his trajectory that quickly.

Boom!!

Casting the Hat Trick skill, the top hat in its hand exploded.

A ridiculous amount of dark fog instantly covers the entire room. Like being poured into a blank white canvas, the entire room turned black in an instant. On top of that, the force from the explosion knocks Blake all the way and sends him crashing to the wall.

[-1,900 HP]

Damage-wise, it was not that high. But there's one thing that makes him sweat.

[You have been influenced by the stun effect!]

Blake tries moving his body but he finds out that he couldn't, the dark fog seems to mess up with his internal and freezes him on the spot. Even then, he has high SPT so he shouldn't be stunned for that long.

Bang!

Splash!

"Arggh!" Blake grunted when his upper left chest got penetrated through by a burning bullet.

[-3,000 HP]

The bullet is faster than a regular bullet and it also corrupted his skin.

Raising up his gaze with his hand holding his chest that got shot, his eyes turned from purple to red again as a devious smile crosses his face. Standing up calmly, he looks to the front while the dark fog surrounds him completely.

It's a devastating skill that the Twin-gun Revenant has, turning the battlefield into his terrain.

Even other Undeads would probably be in trouble.

But Blake is not an ordinary Undead, he has the EX-grade Spectral Vampire race, and no shadow or darkness can blight him. Oblivious to what he was thinking, the Twin-gun Revenant inside the cover of the dark fog dashes to the side before he fired at Blake from the back.

Since the place is covered in a dark fog, the Twin-gun Revenant expected the bullets to hit.

Although that is what he expected, Blake suddenly disappeared from his spot. The night time of the dungeon activated his Overlord of the Night skill, and the Shadow Step he cast has more range and is also faster.

In the next second, the Twin-gun Revenant's eyes broaden in surprise.

Out of nowhere, Blake appeared with an ecstatic smile right in front of his white eyes.

"Boo!"

Recovering from his surprise quickly, the Twin-gun Revenant flick the flintlock pistol on his right hand before a blade protruded from beneath the pistol. Following that, he intends to do a horizontal slash at Blake.

Despite it having a high chance to be blocked, it will at least give him some space.

Blake who was already anticipating the Twin-gun Revenant to retaliate quickly summon his Shadowblood, he also lets out his aura that instantly etched fear in the Twin-gun Revenant's heart.

The Spectral Vampire's presence could bring fear to any Undead.

Since it's an EX-grade race, then Blake reckons that any race below that would be affected.

Just like he had already expected, the Twin-gun Revenant's attack stopped and it staggered a step back because of its presence. This creates a perfect chance for a lethal blow, and Blake wouldn't waste the chance that has presented itself like this.

"Blood Lance..."

Swoosh!

Infusing 7,000 HP, the Blood Lance that came out was as thick as a muscular arm.

Blake didn't summon five but instead summon one but is juiced with all of the HP he infused into it. Like a bullet, the Blood Lance flew and instantly pierces through the Twin-gun Revenant's chest, propelling him backward.

Growl!

Crash!

[Critical Hit!]

[-37,100 HP]

A haunting scream escapes the Twin-gun Revenant's mouth when he got hit.

Not wanting to let up the chance to finish the Twin-gun Revenant quickly, Blake quickly dashed forward with the full intent of finishing the fight. Seeing the damage he caused, one more Blood Lance with 8,000 of his HP would be enough to kill it.

Despite this will leave Blake with only 2,000 HP left, it's worth it in this situation.

Clenching both of his fists, he decided to punch the Twin-gun Revenant for good measure before dealing the final blow, to make it certain that the monster will die with his last Blood Lance skill.

But it was when his fist is only a couple of inches away from hitting, something happened.

In an instant, the Twin-gun Revenant's face jolted up with a sudden movement. Blake could feel something changes about this monster, his pale white eyes started to be devoured with the color black.

[Warning! The Hidden Boss is using Seek of Vengeance skill!]

Upon seeing this, Blake quickly crosses his arms in front of him.

Bam!!

[-6,000 HP]

[4,100 / 17,000 HP]

Like a crazy maniac, the Twin-gun Revenant sent a front kick directly at Blake which sends him crashing away, 'Argghkk, it got way stronger. I'm in trouble, I can't breathe, and my body is exhausted already'

Gritting his teeth, Blake tries to stand up but he realized something.

'My arms... it's broken?!' he exclaimed in surprise.

Blake looks at his arms and finds they were shaped unnaturally, his skin was also severely bruised, turning blackish due to blocking that kick. It was then, he sensed something approaching from his front fast.

Raising his gaze, his expression paled when he saw a pistol aimed at his head.

With a wicked smile, the Twin-gun Revenant is already pointing his flintlock pistol directly at Blake's head, caressing the tip of the barrel on Blake's forehead. 'S- Shit, is this where my first death will be...?'

Just as he thought of that, his eyes widened in realization.

Under the extreme pressure of the moment, Blake remembered that he gained an item that would help him survive this situation. It's not guaranteed but it's the only chance he got, 'I wanted to save it, but there's no harm in using it now. A Hidden Boss is worthy enough for me to use it'

In the next second, Blake quickly open his inventory and clicked on an item.

[Do you want to use Specter Tears?]

[Yes or No]

'Yes...'
