It was during the night that Blake eventually logged out of the game.
Even though Salana told him to quickly log out since Steel is back inside the apartment, he couldn't do that immediately, Tara was asking him about where he has gone and also reprimand him that he would need to give them a heads-up next time.
Blake admits that it was his fault, leaving without saying is not what a guardian should do.
Due to that, he promised that he would be with them all day tomorrow.
Upon waking up in the apartment room once again, Blake finds that Steel is sitting on the sofa watching TV while Maura is on the balcony, taking some fresh air as she couldn't take a walk due to being compelled.
Seeing Blake woke up and started stretching, Steel straightens his back.
"I reckon you have something to say to me, Steel. Go on, tell me what you found out today"
Albeit suddenly, Steel didn't stutter and convey what he has found.
Taking out his phone from his pocket, he then puts it on the table showing a picture of a man who is still in his twenties with sleek back blonde hair and fancy black sunglasses. "Russel Iscariot Procter, he's the person that lived in the top-most penthouse of the Grand Emerald Tower. He's the guy you are looking for. And if I'm being honest, this guy is the man, his standing is insane"
Looking at the picture, Blake's eyes squinted, this person should be the Pumpkin Man.
"He's the sole heir of the Procter Family, a family that owns a trillion-dollar multinational corporation that has a broad portfolio of business interests across several industries, having close relationships with the elites in multiple countries as well as the military"
"I've checked the Grand Emerald Tower, and that place is crowded with secret services and hired mercenaries that keep a lookout 24/7. I'm quite ashamed to say this as a mercenary myself, but do you really need to get close to him? Is there any other way?"
Just from listening to Steel's report alone, Blake finds it natural for him to feel this way.
But then again, Blake already expected as much.
If the Limited VR Helmets were reserved for the elites of the world, then naturally, this kind of figure will be chosen. Russel has immense wealth and power, someone that should not be messed with.
Similarly, Blake also thought that it would be impossible to get close to the penthouse.
Although that is the case, Blake has no other choice. At this moment, Russel is the only one he knew to possess the full information about what's actually going on in this world that now feels foreign to him.
Monsters existed in the real world, and he wanted answers.
'Even though it's still vague, I can feel that there's something going on behind the scene. I feel that there's some connection between the Lunaris game, Privileged Players, and the Supernatural creatures' Blake thought with a frown.
But as he was in deep thought, Blake then realized something.
"Going into the penthouse forcefully is not my only option, I only need to know who has access to his penthouse aside from Russel himself. A maid perhaps or someone. I could get closer and compel them using my power" Blake said as he glanced at Salana, he's not a normal human so there are options for him
Seeing that Salana is nodding her head, it seems he was on the right track.
Listening to what he had to say, Steel also nodded in confirmation, "Yes, that's also what I was searching for. But at this moment, I could only find out that his women are the only ones that have access to his penthouse"
"Women...?" Blake muttered in confusion.
Upon seeing Blake's expression, Steel could only smile wryly, "Yes, women. Russel has multiple women coming to his penthouse, all of them are high-class models or actresses. It's rather easy to spot them, considering that the secret service always accompanies them in and out of the building. If you want to get in, then those women are your tools"
Albeit he was fine earlier, finding out that Russel has many women pained Blake's heart.
'Fucking rich guy, this world is so unfair' Blake complained inwardly.
Now that there's a plan informed, the plan is starting to become plausible. If he could get close to one of Russel's women, then everything will fall into place smoothly. It would only be a waiting game before he learns more about his situation.
"I already got a target, but I need time. Let me find out her habit first" Steel said.
Blake waved his hand as it was natural that this kind of thing will take time. While in the meantime, he could focus on getting stronger inside the game and outside the game, 'I need to grind more inside the game and also train to use my abilities in the real world. No matter what, I'll be stronger than that Ghoul'
A moment later, Steel has already left again to do his job.
On top of that, Blake already takes a walk outside to buy some food and drinks to fill his fridge. Since he now needs to take care of two mouths, he needs more supplies or they'll starve.
Since he got money, that's not a problem for him.
Reaching back to the apartment room, Blake is now alone inside with Maura. He then glanced at her looking out from the window for any sign of the Ghouls from yesterday vigilantly.
"How are you feeling, Maura?" Blake suddenly asked.
Maura looks back before she realized what he meant, "I still feel weak, I haven't recovered"
Considering that Blake drank quite a bit of blood to recover from the Ghoul's devastating attack, he was not surprised that Maura still feels weak. It would take a couple of days for her to recover.
Pondering for a moment, Blake then glanced at Salana on the side.
"Should I buy her a VR Helmet so she could be more effective in the real world?" He asked.
Upon hearing this, Salana rubs her chin in thought before she eventually nodded her head nonchalantly, "If you want to, then you can. She's a mercenary, she'll become a great addition to your team. Tara and Linthia are not focused on long-range, but she can"
"Hmmm... maybe I should. Oh, and another thing"
"What is it? Ask away, I'll help you as much as I can"
It's been stuck in Blake's mind ever since the exchange system was introduced, he has thought of a way that might produce him a lot of gold. "What do you think of me getting an easier race, a B or A-grade race for example, and selling the racial quest to players that could pay me?"
"Oh...? I got to say, that's a good idea! But you need to becareful" Salana replied in surprise.
Blake remembered that Salana said that NPCs can be turned instantly if he wanted to, but players work differently. If he tries to turn a player, that player will gain a racial quest instead of being turned as Tara did.
Since his racial quests are unique, he doesn't need to go through the regular race evolution.
For example, a player that transitioned from human into an Orc wouldn't be able to turn others into an Orc, they would need to evolve their race first. But if Blake completed his Orc Racial Quest, he would gain a variation of the Orc race that could instantly turn others into an Orc.
Due to that, he was the only that could take advantage of this cheat he has.
In addition, by doing this, he also contributes to the world and prepares the players further to confront the Inevitable Apocalypse. Blake thought that this is a brilliant idea, but he would need Salana's input.
Now that Salana agrees, he decided to do that first before getting the Dhampir Race.
Just thinking that one player would pay him 10,000 gold to get the racial quest makes Blake's mouth watery, he would amass an insane amount of gold in an instant. It would take a short time before he became very rich.
But then, Salana added, "It's good, but you still need to protect your identity"
"If you really wanted to do that, then you must create or gain an item that could hide your name at the very least. Many people would aim you out of envy, remember? So do that first before you started promoting your service, and we'll need to find a way to make sure they don't turn on us"
With that, he now has a change of plan, this will be his main focus for now.
A couple of days passed.
Throughout the weekend, Blake expects Gibran to come to visit him. But it seems there was no need. Not replying to Gibran's message probably disperse his will to come to visit, and that further shows that Gibran is not his friend from the start.
On top of that, Blake has been training and grinding non-stop.
Since he helped Angel immensely increase her levels, he felt bad to not do that to Linthia and Tara. Due to that, he also decided to help them. But unlike players, the experience they got is a bit slower than the norm.
It confuses Blake, but Salana explained that it has got to do with talent.
Compared to players that would gain 100% of the EXP from killing mobs, the NPCs would need to rely on their talents to extract EXP. Tara could only absorb 61% of the EXP while Linthia could absorb 87%.
Albeit it's a bummer for them, there exist NPCs out there with immense talent.
Salana told him that the highest one she knows was 211% EXP which is two times the amount of players gained and that alone is quite daunting to know. For that person, killing one mob equals killing two mobs for players.
But that person is an anomaly, there are not many NPCs that have that insane of a talent.
Despite the lesser percentage of EXP gained, the two have started to increasingly become stronger than before. In addition, Angel also joined them occasionally for the raid but it's hard to say if the women are getting close with each other.
It was nighttime now, Blake is currently dressed properly under Maura's guidance.
Maura is a mercenary, but she has worked as an assassin for a year. She has attended numerous high-end events and knows the fashion taste that would make any women's eyes glued onto Blake.
Across the street is a nightclub, lights can be seen flashing from the inside.
"Remember, your target is a woman with blonde hair called Julia. She's a well-known Influencer, Steel is adamant that you would've recognized her instantly if you saw her. It's better if you succeed now, but if you couldn't, then we'll have no choice but to ambush her" Salana reminded from the side about his objective.
Upon hearing this, Blake nodded his head, "Don't worry, I got this"
Suppressing his nervous self, Blake held Maura's waist before he takes the first step and headed to the nightclub.
