Guest?!

I find myself staring into Holden's black eyes. He was staring right back, I blink flinching back.

"where am I?" I ask, looking around. I was surrounded by flowers... no, I was surrounded by ruins, blood and a strong feeling of hatred and anger.

He stares at me for a moment, a little longer. "You're at my house." He says calmly, so calm I have to confirm I'm not dreaming.

"your house?" I blurt, trying to get out of bed but end up flinching instead.

He holds me steadily so I don't hurt myself any longer.

"Yes. My house." He says, staring down at me. When I stare back, I'm certain I saw something in those eyes, but I wasn't certain. Was it concern or...

"you're awake!" I hear a merry deep voice boom in the room, causing us both to pull away from each other. It was Jax and he wasn't kidding when he said he'd missed me.

His blue little frame wraps around my shoulders in a hug. I smile, a sincere one.

"missed you too." I say softly, and there was silence.

I look up to find Holden gwaking at me. He shakes his head like he was trying to come out of a trance but still didn't utter a word.

Jax pulls away from the hug, "give him a break. You can't really blame him, he hasn't seen you smile before; actually no one has." Jax says with a shrug of his shoulders.

I arc an eyebrow at Holden, with an amused look on my face.

"really?" I  say, and he rubs the back of his neck.

"Its pretty though." He says without looking me in the eye. I blink, "what?" I ask, certain I didn't just hear him clearly.

"you smile. I suits you well, just keep on smiling." he says, finally facing me and giving me a small smile of his own.

I stare at him in shock, unsure of what to say. Thankfully, Jax bails me out.

He clears his throat, "I came here to let you both know, breakfast was ready. Now, come down stairs will you?" He says, flying out the door.

We both stare at the door for a while, until Holden finally turns to me.

"so... breakfast?" he asked, with an unsure smile, a hand still behind his neck.

"sure." I say, with a smile. He takes my hand in his, pulling me up carefully he helps lead me down the stairs and into the dining area.

Jax helps pull a sit out for me, while Holden makes sure I'm comfortable in it.

The meal Jax prepared for breakfast was beyond delicious.

"where in the world did you learn to cook?" I ask, with an amused an eyebrow.

"tell me about it." Holden mutters under his breath, still consuming his meal.

"learnt from the best." he said with a shrug of his shoulders, but then he stiffens moment later.

My face drops once I understand his statement.  I knew he was talking about, it was my grand father. And he was a great cook.

"oh..." I say, bowing my head. I was using my spoon to play with my food now.

Holden stills for a brief second.

"I didn't mean.." Jax begins but I stop him.

"Its okay. I'm not hungry anymore." I say standing on my feet. I begin walking but nearly miss a step.

Thankfully, a hand holds me steadily around my waist. I find my arm around Holden's neck.

"I'll take you upstairs." he says, leading me up the stairs but stops abruptly when there is a knock on the door.

"who is it?" he asks, still holding me firmly.

"Open up, its me. Guest." the voice yells.

I blink, my head completely blank. Who on earth names himself Guest?

"Guest?" Holden repeats, the surprise evident in his voice.

"yes, its me, now open the door." The deep voice booms through the house once more.

Jax narrows his gaze at the door, before he finally speaks.

"now, what is he doing here?" he mutters.

"wait," I say my eyes widening.

"you know him?" I ask, by now we both had turned to face him.

"you could say that." Jax replies nothing short of calm.

"you know Guest?" Holden asks, his voice nearly high.
