Elemental Slime

What's wrong with this game?! Why I can't use my skill?!

Me too!

Read the information! It says players can't use their skills otherwise they performed the skills!

We are doomed! We should not head to this forest...

Finally, the main dilemma of the new players has occurred. Although these players could fight the monsters using their weapons. However, the damage they could make was not that large compared to the damage they could inflict using the provided skills in each class.

Performing these intricate and demanding skills was a significant burden for the Mage and Cleric classes. Why? Because they had to meticulously create a complex and intricate magic circle before they could even attempt to cast these awe-inspiring abilities. In addition to this arduous task, the skills they possessed were severely limited, which only added to the difficulties they faced.

"What course of action should we take?" inquired a man clad in a brown robe and armed with a sword, addressing his fellow players. His hands were visibly quivering as he gazed at the towering two-and-a-half-meter bear. The bear's violet claws were nothing short of formidable, possessing the ability to melt a player's skin or bone in just a fraction of a second. The mere sight of it was enough to strike fear into the hearts of even the bravest adventurers.

Withdraw! This was the only option right now since they decided to go to the middle part of the forest before learning their assigned skills. However, it was too late since plenty of players died. Despite the fact they were not going to lose any level as they were level 0. Still, the needed monster cores to revive their characters were a big burden to them. In fact, none of them managed to collect even a single monster core until now.

What the players should do if they didn't have monster cores in their bags? It has a simple answer. Players should buy monster cores using the real money that could be found on the market. As of now, the level 0 revival fee was 100 monster cores equivalent to 50$. Well, if the players didn't possess huge some, there was still an option. They just wait for several hours until their characters were revived. However, it seemed like these players could not wait for too long.

At this stage of the game, if the players were left behind, it was hard for him to catch up like, putting thread into a needle hole. Furthermore, a player who has an advantage could be a significant factor in this game. This was the main reason why players were willing to buy monster cores, even though it would cost them money.

The player's reviving fee and duration increase as they reach higher levels.

Breakthrough Online is operated by Super Rare Computer, which means once the game was officially released, the main creator and developers have nothing to do with it. However, the game updated automatically once a player achieved milestones or discovered new maps

Inside the cave.

Slime was the type of creature that was weak with magical power but immune to a physical attack. This information immediately appeared inside his head after analyzing this situation. Where did he get the information? Technically, this information usually was not hard to acquire as it always appeared in the novel and manga he read during his free time.

Stepping back two paces, he deftly dodged the incoming stones. Fortunately, there were only a handful of monsters present. Had there been a swarm of Slimes congregated in the area, he would have had no chance of evading them all.

At this point, the only way to defeat these monsters was to target their cores directly. However, the drawback was that he wouldn't gain any other rewards from killing them, aside from the experience points earned. Currently, he faced a dilemma - he needed to recoup the $500 he had spent on the console. He had no choice but to engage with the monsters, or else he would exhaust his stamina and perish at their mercy.

"I will make up with the other monsters." He clicked his tongue.

It was not difficult to find the slime's cores as there was a gleaming light appeared in its body. Nevertheless, the core was moving throughout the slime's body which was why it was hard to aim.

After dodging the stones for several minutes, alas, Arsen's skills were cool down. He left the pillar right away and dashed at the monster located at the left slide. It was alone and none of the monsters could protect it, it was the perfect opportunity for him to inflict damage.

Swoosh!

Without a second thought, he utilized the Dash skill, obtaining a closer distance against the slimes. After that, he followed up with the Stab skill.

Crack!

A sound of glass cracking was perceived by his ears and Arsen could feel the mild heat coming from the monster's liquid. Yet, he didn't heed that as he noticed the remaining monsters were no fools. The three slimes headed to his location to give support. Arsen put a calm expression on his face, knowing this was a perfect opportunity for him.

Blink!

Inside the ten meters radius, Arsen occurred at the monster's blind spot, giving him an easy time using Stab for the second time. The same sounds went to his ears as he eliminated the slimes. After a couple of seconds, the four slimes turned into white light before dissipating in this world.

Name: Arc Blood     Level: 0 81%

He frowned his brows. "After killing the monsters, still, I didn't level up," Arsen said in a disappointed tone. "It seems it's not easy to level up."

Meanwhile, he checked the place where the slimes disappeared, hoping could find any kind of item coming from them. However, he found nothing. The only gain he had in this battle was EXP and manage to increase his skill proficiency. Unlike practicing the skill with the trees and other stuff, the monsters provided higher proficiency. Right now his Stab skill has 8.37% and Blink has 6.21%. Well, it was natural to have slow progress with the Stab skill since it was affecting the Mental Strength of the user during the cast.

Four slimes. I have to kill thirty-plus of them. A sigh came out of his mouth, knowing how large money he lost after killing the slimes without getting the cores. Soon, Arsen started his expedition, killing all the slimes he discovered on the map.

_

Two hours had easily passed, and Arsen already killed thirty slimes. Right now, he was level 2 at 75%. When he leveled up, Arsen received three rewards, first the 7 free attributes, 2 skill points (SP), and a new skill. This was not an offensive skill, to be exact, this was a defensive skill that he acquired after blocking the stones.

Arsen was well informed not all the times he could dodge the stones, that's why he used his Newbie's dagger to deflect the stones. Because of the stones, his weapon durability lost two points.

[Perfect Block] (Defensive skill)- upon casting the skill, the user could block a magical and physical attack three times.

Cooldown: 7 minutes.

Arsen was happy with this skill as he knew Perfect Block could help him in a tight situation. Moreover, he was eager to find the remaining slimes so that he could finish his quest. However, twenty minutes had passed, and Arsen could not find the slimes, at the same time, he failed to notice that he was already at the stomach of the cave.

"Fuck! This is annoying." He cursed. Who would not be annoyed with that? He only needed four slimes to complete the quest and leave. But the slimes didn't show up for some reason.

Spark!

And all of a sudden, Arsen glanced at the sound's source. Yet, he didn't see anything there so he walked a little bit until he spotted a green door. Arsen was not dumb, and even a kid could say this door was dangerous.

Based on his knowledge, this game was focusing on exploring and discovering as well as earning money. In his mind, if this door was dangerous, so it means there were also bountiful rewards waiting for him there. No matter which players went, everybody knows that the higher stake the higher or more valuable rewards they could get.

Without a second thought, he pushed the door with his all might. Soon, the sound of the door groaning transpired as it was giving way to the young man. As soon as Arsen had a vision within the vicinity, he saw a blue treasure chest on top of the flat marble. His intuition was right, he could get a reward for entering this door. Moreover, he checked the area first, finding if there were any traps there.

"I guess my expedition is worthwhile." He smiled maliciously. The moment he stepped forward once, suddenly, the green door was strongly closed to the point force coming from it. Arsen expected this chest could not get without a catch, but he didn't expect this one.

Ding!
