Arsen could not believe that he managed to kill the Elemental Slime. If he hadn't leveled up back then, definitely he already perished in this virtual world due to the Burning effect.
"The Burning Effect" is a natural phenomenon that causes a player to experience searing pain as a result of exposure to flames. The intensity of the pain depends on the strength of the fire that has inflicted them, and can leave the player feeling weak and vulnerable. As the flames consume their body, they will gradually lose health points, their skin blistering and turning red from the heat.
Just like in the other games, the players could regain HP, Mana, and stamina once they leveled up. It was the main reason why he managed to escape from the verge of death.

In this game, players had two methods of leveling up their skills. The first involved gradually increasing their skill proficiency until it reached 100%, representing a mastery of the skill. The second method involved using Skill Points (SP) to instantly level up a skill. SP could also be used to unlock new skills, but they were difficult to obtain, with only a 30% chance of earning them upon leveling up. Most players could only acquire SP after successfully completing challenging System Quests, adding to the prestige and value of these special rewards.
Arsen was determined to increase his Strength and Agility attributes in the game. He knew that by improving his Strength, he would be able to inflict more damage upon monsters, as well as increase his overall stamina, allowing him to fight longer and more effectively. As for Agility, he believed that it would provide him with increased movement and attack speed, enabling him to dodge enemy attacks and land more blows in a shorter amount of time.
The +1 that could be found on the screen was his reward for completing the quest eliminating the Elemental Slimes. The 23 free attributes also came from the quest that bestowed him +12 free attributes, and the remaining attributes came after leveling.

"This game is no joke..."
Arsen muttered to himself as he remembered the intense pain he had experienced earlier. After resting for several minutes, he placed his hands on the ground and pushed himself up into a standing position. He winced slightly as he straightened his body, feeling a dull ache in his muscles from the previous battle. Despite the pain, he was determined to continue on his quest, knowing that the rewards would be worth the effort. Taking a deep breath, he steadied himself and began to move forward.
Glancing around his surroundings, Arsen's attention was drawn to a flickering item lying on the ground. The system had informed him that this was the item used by the slime to harness the power of electricity. Without hesitation, he made his way towards the object and found a silver ring with blue accents. As he picked it up, he noticed intricate details that were initially unclear from afar. Upon closer inspection, he saw an ancient rune imprinted on the ring. Though he lacked knowledge of the symbol, he was relieved to find that the system could provide him with information. With a deep breath, he focused his attention on the ring, ready to learn all he could about its mysterious powers.
[Shock Surge Ring] (Epic, upgradeable)
- could provide the wearer with the ability to channel and manipulate electric currents, allowing the wearer to harness the power of lightning.
Additional skill(s)-
[Chain lightning] level 1 (action-type) - The wearer can send a bolt of lightning through to the enemy, paralyzing and damaging the target for 6 seconds. The skill range has only a seven-meter radius.
Cooldown: six minutes and thirty seconds.
[Static Shield] level 1 (Defensive-type)- The wearer is surrounded by an electric field that can deflect incoming attacks and damage enemies who come too close. Lasted for 10 seconds.
Cooldown: eight minutes.
[Power Surge] Level 1 - this skill could raise the player's strength, speed, and defense by 35%. Lasted for 20 seconds.
Cooldown: One hour.
The Shock Surge Ring, a magical masterpiece conceived by the great Reighn Campbell, stands as one of the remarkable creations of this world. Tragically, it was left damaged in the aftermath of the cataclysmic Great War.
Drop upon death.

The Shock Surge Ring's impressive capabilities left Arsen amazed. He was no fool, and understood that this ring could provide him with a tremendous advantage over the other players. With a wide grin on his face, he clicked the "Equip" button on the screen. However, the ring was not perfect - if Arsen died, he would drop the item and it would be lost to him.
"Wow, this ring is epic even though it's broken. Just think how much more amazing it would be if it were still intact," Arsen mused. He couldn't help but wonder if the ring might even have a higher rank if it were fully functional. But there were other rewards to be had as well - the blue treasure on the flat marble still remained unopened.
[Uncommon Chest]
Without a moment's hesitation, Arsen eagerly opened the chest and patiently waited for the treasures to reveal themselves. After 15 seconds had passed, the contents were finally unveiled: a stunning, dark violet robe, a sleek knife, and two gleaming bronze coins. Arsen couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement at the sight of these valuable items, and he quickly snatched them up before anyone else could lay claim to them.
[The Ebon Cloak] level 5 (Uncommon-rank) was a coveted item among players, as it granted the wearer the ability to conceal their identity from lower and similarly leveled opponents. But that was not all - the cloak also provided a substantial boost to defense, with +12 to physical and +17 to magical defense.
Durability: 15/15
Ignore five levels
[Winter's Bane] (Uncommon-rank, level 5) was a formidable weapon in the game, capable of inflicting massive damage on opponents. With a basic attack, the weapon could deal +150 damage, but the damage could skyrocket up to +300 if the attack was a critical hit. What's more, the weapon also had the ability to slow down opponents by 3% - and this effect was stackable.
Durability: 15/15
Ignore three levels
Drop upon death
Additional skill(s)
Freeze level 1 (Action-type)- this item will slow down and freeze the opponent for 10 seconds. Laster for 15 seconds.
Cooldown: Five minutes.
The Winter's Bane was a sleek, double-edged dagger with a striking blue blade. Not only was it visually impressive, but the dagger was also light and comfortable to wield, making it a marked improvement over the clunky Newbie's dagger. Its design made it easy to maneuver in battle, allowing the player to strike quickly and precisely, giving them an edge over their opponents. With its deadly combination of speed and power, the Winter's Bane was a weapon that any player would be fortunate to wield.
In this game, a player's weapon was a critical factor that could make or break their success in battle. The more the player synchronized with their weapon, the greater the weapon's true potential could be unleashed. By mastering the intricacies of their chosen weapon and attuning themselves to its unique characteristics, players could gain a significant advantage in combat. This made choosing the right weapon a crucial decision that could impact a player's success in the game.
Arsen had a successful outing after completing the Eliminating Slime Quest (Ordinary Difficulty). Although the quest was relatively easy - akin to slicing butter with a hot knife - and only of Ordinary tier, Arsen had a bountiful harvest. The reason for this was simple: the area was not unexplored, which increased the likelihood of finding valuable items.
After settling his business in this place. Arsen immediately left the cave and headed to the Mayor's hall. Of course, on his way, he saw the farmers, preparing for the slime's arrival.
"Don't worry, sir. I have already taken care of the slimes. You can go back to tending your crops in peace," Arsen spoke in a polite and reassuring tone to the old man NPC. The farmer was of a frail build and wore a worn-out farmer's hat.
The old man smiled at him wryly, based on his expression, it seemed like he was not happy with this young man's news at all. "Thanks for your help, Immortal." He paused for a second as he was a little bit shy to add these words. "However, the slimes are not the main problem for us at all. To be honest, we can handle some of them. The real dilemma we are facing was the wolf."
"Wolf?" Arsen asked, slightly confused as he didn't recall encountering any wolves during his quest. He then shrugged his shoulders and sighed. "Don't worry, I'll look into it and find a solution once I gather enough information."
In his mind, Arsen believed he would gain more information about the wolf problem if Mayor Whitlock issued a quest related to it.
_
Several minutes had passed, and Arsen observed players training their skills, including the newly registered ones. This was not surprising to him since the game had captured the attention of the entire world since its official launch. However, he did not pay much attention to them as he headed directly to the Mayor's Hall.
As he entered, Mayor Whitlock was taken aback by Arsen's sudden appearance. He didn't expect the last person who took a quest to be the first to complete it.
System: You have received +30 Mayor's Favorability.
To earn the title "Mayor's Buddy," a player must collect 120 points of favorability from the Mayor. This title allows players to deepen their relationship with the Mayor and receive special quests that are not posted on the regular quest board.
Mayor's Buddy: 30/120
"This is interesting." Whitlock laughed out loud before adding these words. "Do you want to receive another quest today?"
