Chapter 44: Suicide

"Is this girl the daughter of your younger sister?" The mother looked at the girl standing next to the man, her tone still cold.

"Yes," the man nodded with a smile.

The schoolgirl in uniform next to them also greeted, "Hello."

The mother glanced at the girl but quickly turned away, saying, "Let's eat."

"Sure, sure," the man replied. They then entered the old and decorated house together. After washing their hands according to their mother's rules, they sat together beside the warm hearth and looked at the food on the table.

"Hoang Tuan, Hoang Lan, this is your cousin. During the National Day holiday, your cousin's mother is busy, so she'll stay with us for a few days. Her name is Tran Thien Nga, and she is a very good student. Hoang Tuan, if you have any questions, you can ask her for help."

"Hoang Lan, tidy up your room a bit. Tran Thien Nga will be staying with you for a few days."

The man, Dinh Phuc, introduced himself as Hoang Tuan's uncle and took the role of their father. In the character setting, he was portrayed as someone who was strictly managed by his wife, which was somewhat similar to Hoang Tuan's "weak" character from some angles.

Hoang Tuan had updated this story with the latest content while he was bored at school. He also knew about Dinh Phuc and Tran Thien Nga's entry into the story beforehand. Based on the difference in the story this time and their proficient acting skills, Hoang Tuan easily recognized that both of them were not newcomers. They seemed to have entered the novel world much more than he did.

After they sat at the table, the two actors exchanged glances. Unlike Hoang Tuan, they couldn't see the story content, although they had returned to this house, they didn't know who their "companions" were this time.

...

"Why aren't you eating?" The mother's voice rang out beside him.

Seeing no one using chopsticks on the table, she frowned, seeming annoyed that no one had tasted the food she had cooked.

"Darling, I had dinner with Thien Nga on my way here. My phone was off, so I couldn't contact you. Go ahead and eat first; we are not that hungry," Dinh Phuc replied with a somewhat awkward smile.

The meal on the table was delicious. At least that's how it appeared and smelled.

However, being in an unfamiliar world, they knew that not everything could be consumed. Everything had to be checked and carefully tasted. Otherwise, they might lose their lives here.

So, when they came here, they were prepared and discussed thoroughly. Avoid or inspect whatever they could to prevent any danger.

Of course...

After Dinh Phuc finished speaking, the mother's face immediately darkened, and she stared at him as if she would strangle him in the next moment.

For someone who cooked a lot of meals at home, hearing that her husband had eaten out, it was undoubtedly the best way to annoy her...

There's logic in this world.

The mother had every right to be angry.

Hoang Tuan could see that after the non-existent dialogue in the story was spoken, the plot quickly turned into the father being stabbed in the eye with chopsticks by the mother and then going crazy...

Well, if they didn't do anything to deal with the situation.

Hoang Tuan might lose his "father" companion just because of this meeting.

The temperature at the dinner table dropped a bit...

"Right, what's this?" When my mother was about to go crazy.

Dinh Phuc calculated the timing. He took out a small red bag from his pocket, opened it quickly without any hesitation, and took out a bunch of beautiful bracelets.

"I saw this on my way here and thought you would like it, so I bought it for you!"

In a depressing atmosphere.

Dinh Phuc wasn't killed by the mother; he managed to escape death thanks to this "gift."

Hoang Tuan watched quietly without saying a word.

To change the storyline based on this method, although outdated, still worked.

As long as it was a gift, it would affect anyone.

Either greatly or insignificantly.

"Mother" was a normal woman who seemed to suppress her emotions a bit after seeing the gift. Hoang Tuan could feel that.

Despite her anger, there was no intention to kill Dinh Phuc anymore...

...

"What about you, dear?"

The mother turned her head, her eyes now looking at Hoang Tuan and his sister.

The matter of their father not eating was brushed aside.

"Dad is not hungry, so I'll eat first! I'm very hungry anyway," Hoang Tuan replied, his spoon already scooping the mixed ribs soup in front of him.

[Someone, who eats people.]

[No longer human...]

[Mom, she... sad.]
