City Walk 2

After the interesting event earlier, we decided to take a stroll through the town and grab a snack at a restaurant near the home. They served delicious dumplings made from flour made from spirit wheat and meat from spirit beasts. Not only were they highly nutritious, but they also tasted incredibly good. Oh, just the thought of that juicy flavor and tender dough... mmm. I anticipated sitting with Mei at our favorite spot on the second floor, enjoying our meal.

As we walked, I decided to clarify a few things.

"Mei, can you explain why your sister went with my brother? I'm used to seeing you two together all the time, and now I feel a bit uncomfortable, especially since they're taking so long" I asked.

"Master, it was your mother's insistence that they go together. She said it would give her peace of mind. We were both born in those places, so I suppose that's the reason" Mei replied.

"Hmm, but why did he go there in the first place? I must have missed that detail" I wondered.

"If I recall correctly, he went to purchase Cultivation of Inner Level beast cores. The ones in the home defence array are about to expire" Mei explained.

"I see, I understand now" I replied.

At that moment, a young boy who barely reached my height ran past us, leaving us both surprised and turning to watch him go. It wasn't often that we saw people running around like that. But just as I was about to turn and continue walking, another young man in his twenties rushed by shouting something like, "Stop, thief! I'll catch you anyway!", brushing against my shoulder and causing me to stumble. In an attempt to avoid bumping into Mei, I ended up falling into a puddle, splattering my clothes. Mei quickly helped me up and examined me, and then with eyes filled with the desire to kill and punish, turned to the direction the rascal had run off.

"That scoundrel dirtied my clothes," I grumbled.

"It's nothing, young master. I've memorized his face, and I'll make sure he won't bother you again," Mei reassured me with creepy smile.

"It's alright, Mei. Let it be. These things happen. Apparently he was chasing after a thief. Well, nothing can spoil our evening, especially when we're going to enjoy those delicious dumplings. Let's not allow foolish people to ruin our day!" I declared.

Mei chuckled slightly and softly said: "Very well, young master."

We continued walking at a leisurely pace toward the restaurant and home. But it didn't take long before a man's hand landed on my shoulder, interrupting my sense of peace and joy.

"Sorry, shorty, for bumping into you. Well, you seem intact, hahaha! I should have caught that thief. I'm at fault too, but you should look where are you going to too, and you should toughen up a bit, or you'll always be this fragile!" he said, flexing his biceps and boasting, "Look at what I can do, all the ladies are mine! Well, you're too young to think about such things anyway. Alright, farewell!" With that, he muttered something about Miss Zhou and hurried away.

"Damn it, this is the second time you've ruined my day. I hope there won't be a third," I grumbled.

"Young master, please excuse me for a moment. I have some urgent matters to attend to, just for two minutes," Mei said with an icy expression, devoid of any emotions except for boiling rage.

"No, Mei, we won't let this jerk spoil our day," I insisted.

And taking her by the arm, I led her to the restaurant.

From Mei's perspective:

As the young master took me by the arm, it felt as if lightning struck, leaving my mind completely blank, devoid of any thoughts. All I felt was shock, and my entire being drowned in a childish joy, allowing him to lead me wherever he pleased. "Yes... that's right... who cares about some jerk... we have plans," I thought to myself.

From Xia Tao's perspective:

Taking her arm and noticing the change in Mei, I couldn't help but rejoice in the effect I had on her. It was magnificent. If nothing changed, I had already found one of my future cultivation partners. Humming a melody, I led my peach colored maid to the restaurant.

As soon as we entered the restaurant and went upstairs, I couldn't help but exclaim, "Damn, this is no longer funny."

The restaurant was nearly empty at this time, too late for lunch and a bit early for dinner. There shouldn't have been anyone here except for occasional visitors. And of course, that jerk who had tried to ruin my day twice was sitting with a heavily made-up woman who looked around 30 years old. I still remember those wonderful videos from my previous life where an unattractive woman transformed into a charming young lady with the help of tools and makeup. It still gives me the shivers. Judging by what I see, that female specimen could certainly use one of those tutorials. Ugh, disgusting!

Although she was dressed in expensive clothes, maybe that was the problem. Could she be a whore? Well, my mood is certainly heading in that direction.

"Forget about them, Mei. Let him work," I said with a smirk. "Let's go to the other side. The view might not be as good, but the place is nice too."

"Work? What do you mean?" Mei asked, her face filled with perplexity.

I moved closer to her and spoke in a hushed tone, wearing a very serious expression. "It's elementary, my dear. Look at her. Based on her expensive attire, but her unpleasant appearance and oddly applied makeup, I wouldn't be surprised if that's actually a man dressed in women's clothing. And then, the young man sitting next to her becomes the man-whore who caters to extraordinary personalities. It's quite obvious."

As we were discussing this, an passing waiter overheard our conversation, looked at the woman and the man for a long moment, tilted his head as if contemplating something, and then nodded ever so slightly a few times. He then broke into a smile and went to the kitchen to share the newfound gossip. However, we didn't notice any of this.

When the message finally reached Mei, she burst into laughter, forming a small fist. "Oh, what are you saying, young master! Who taught you such things? Tell me, and I'll have a word with that person."

We walked to a table on the other side of the dining hall, unaware that an ordinary young man had acquired quite an extraordinary reputation from that day onwards.
