Prison break

*Bang*

He crushed into someone and fell over.

'What the?' Roland clutched his head, he was bewildered.

He reached out his hand to try and stabilize himself. His hand landed on something curved and hard. Roland looked down and his eyes widened in shock.

Beneath him, was a girl who looked to be the same age as him.

The girl had a beautiful face, her skin was bright red, the girl's build looked slightly bigger then Roland's. Underneath her arms Roland was shocked to see another pair of arms, besides that she looked perfectly human.

She was adorned in leather and metal armor that barely covered the whole body, there were patches of white fur here and there.

'Which race does she belong too?' Roland's eyeballs danced around in it's socket, his gaze exploring uncharted territories.

He didn't recognise her from any of the fantasy races from his previous world, it was a novel experience.

"Ehh please let go." A weeping-voice, sounded as the girl's body trembled, she had tears in her eyes.

Roland was currently holding onto a horn on her head. He quickly came to his senses, "Sorry about that."

*Sob* *Sob*

The girl covered her eyes and began to weep. Roland frowned, a scene of him as a little boy crying infront of two graves played in his head.

'Surviving is one thing and helping others is another.' Roland sighed.

"Don't cry, what's your name?" Roland questioned but his words fell on deaf ears as the girl didn't respond.

Roland thought for a second and said. "A wife came home one night and quietly entered her bedroom."

Hearing this, the girl stopped weeping and moved her arms, revealing her curious eyes.

Roland continued, "From underneath the blanket, she sees four legs instead of her husband's two. She grabs metal staff and starts hitting the blankets as hard as she can. Once she's done, she goes to the kitchen to get a drink."

"As she enters she sees her husband there, reading a book, he says... " Roland saw that the girl had a subtle smile on her face, so he paused for a suspens effect.

"Hi darling, your parents came to visit us, did you say hell-..." before Roland could finish, he heard the girl bursting into laughter.

"Hahaha" The girl started laughing, seeing her bright expression, Roland couldn't help but smile.

"~He he~ That was a funny story." The girl's soothing voice was something Roland believed he could get drunk on.

"It was just a joke, but why were you crying?" Roland was curious, not it about this matter but also about her identity.

"What's a joke." The girl had big round curious eyes.

Roland scratched his head, "Well, it's a funny story but it's not necessarily have to be a story. Like for example, do you know why 6 was so afraid of 7?"

The girl shook her head.

"Because 7 8 9." This was a joke Roland heard from his co-workers in the lab.

"~Hehe~ ~he~" The girl began to giggle. After a while, Roland helped her up.

"Thank you." The girl stood up and was slightly taller then him. Her body looked slim and fragile but was bigger then Roland's in general. Her small muscles, were a bit defined.

"..."

"..."

The atmosphere suddenly became weird, awkward silence filled the surrounding. The girl seemed shy and not very good with interaction, the exact same breed that Roland was.

Roland mustered up the courage and asked, "What's your name?"

"..." The girl remained quiet, her expression grew more nervous.

"..." Roland was at a lose for words. 'C'mon at least work with me!'

Roland fell into thought and said, "From now on, you don't have to cry anymore. Your stronger then that, you've already survived this far, be strong."

Roland said these words to the girl, but these were words he needed to hear himself. He sighed and shook his head, his eyes seem to change and have more confidence.

When people are facing problems or are troubled. More often then not, they knew the solution but they were just stubborn or lazy. In cases were those people didn't know, they weren't self aware enough and needed to hear those words the most.

The girl look at Roland in shock. She resonated with Roland's words a lot. She stopped lowered her head and fell into deep thought.

After a bit, the girl raised her head, "thank you I-"

The mysterious boy was nowhere to be seen. She looked around but she couldn't see neither hide nor hair of the boy.

"Young miss! Young miss. There you are, we've been looking everywhere for you." Just then, the girl's foraging with her eyes, was interrupted by two tall figures. One male and one female.

"Young miss, please don't listen to those brats." The male, also looked like the young miss. He had four arms, and wore a simular attire but the only difference was that his body was stuffed with muscles, and his stone-grey skin.

"Yeah, we tetramites don't need-" The female; was also tall but slightly shorter then the male, had a pony tale, grey skin and a lot of muscle in her body.

"It's alright." The young miss interrupted the woman, she was currently looking up into the clouds.

_Scene change. Five minutes later_

Roland finally arrived in front of the tallest mountain in the area.

After checking and making sure it was clear, he ran into the lobby, past the reception desk, into the hallway, down three flights of stairs and finally into the forth floor.

Roland had memorized the path and in no time he reached the area, where his cell was located. He took the key from his waist and opened the door.

"Time to go." He said.

The flame girl, Ash quickly got up and followed him to the neighbouring room.

"Finally, I haven't eaten in days now!" Artic commented when the door opened.

"This is not a restaurant, let's go." Artic was surprised, but he didn't waste time and quickly followed him.

They quickly entered Roland's room, closed the door and moved towards a curtain corner.

"You did this?" Ash looking at the tunnel, she frowned when she heard what Roland said. There was a fireball in her hands that was illuminating the room.

"Ladies first." Roland gestured, he naturally didn't forget about the frightning coldness in the tunnel.

When ash entered the tunnel, she increased the brightness of the flames. Using the openings on the wall, the group quickly descended down into the cold part of the tunnel.

"Why is it so cold down here." Ash frowned, the floating flame started to discharge some heat. She had felt the temperature change earlier but she didn't put much thought into it.

"My guess is that, Fifi did this. Can't you melt the ice with your fire." Roland following Ash, Suggested.

"It's not that simple, since I have these restraints on."

"Oh, allow me." Roland, quickly removed the restraints from Ash and Artic.

"Human cub, you really can remove the restraints!" Artic exclaimed. Is that an ability of his?

Ash rubbed her hands together and flames appeared on hands, the tunnel instantly became warm.

The continued down and along the way Ash kept adjusting the heat. So they arrived in front of the vertical part were they had to crawl vertical, but right in front of them was a wall of ice.

The surrounding walls were covered in a thin layer of frost. Under Ashe's flames the frost melted and the temperature started to rise.

Ash placed her hand on the ice wall, and a sizzling sound was heard, as steam started to rise, but after a few minutes She stopped.

Roland frowned and looked at the wall, " Why isn't the ice melting?". Despite all the flames and steam, the wall remain intact.

"It's indeed my sister's ice. My sister's ice has the ability to regenerate." Ash had a thoughtful look. Looks like this boy was telling the truth afterall.

"If that's the case, just use more fire." Artic thought it to be simple.

"No! we're still in tunnel." Roland quickly exclaimed. I'd know the relationship between science and magic in this world, but lighting a fire in this tunnel will quickly burn the oxygen. I'll research it in the future!

"It's no use, I won't be able to melt my sister's ice. " Ash had a nostalgic look, and her voice drifted away.

*sigh*

'Plans never keep up with change.' Roland lamented at his bad luck. "Ok let's just take the stairs."

The trio quickly returned to Roland's room, down the staircase and quickly by the tenth floor.

_Scene change_

Cyrus was standing in between some trees, he grabbed a trembling panther that was the same size as a house and casually threw it forward in the air.

"I've gathered enough monster to form a nice lasting horde of monsters." Leeu the lion, suddenly appeared and said.

"Yeah, hopeful I can get the opportunity to sneak in an-" just as Cyrus spoke up, his eyes shot open in fright as he quickly turned his head towards a certain direction.

Leeu also followed suite, not only them but the rest of the animals in the forest felt the same, they started to trembled even more noticbly.

A huge and terrifying pressure suddenly engulfed the whole forest. Everything, the ground, the sky, leaves and animals started trembling.

Leeu and Cyrus had ugly expressions. Cyrus quickly regained his composure, he grabbed Leeu and they disappeared together.

On the other side of the forest, everyone had an equally ugly expressions, they have never felt a pressure this strong before.

This level of power, Was this still humanly possible?

"Looks like father is finally here! And it seem he has gotten stronger!" The only person who wasn't scared, Nemisis, spoke up.
