Chaos

When plans go awry, the key is to remain calm and level-headed.

Roland and his group quickly turned around and started running. His group was in a difficult situation and their overall fighting power right now was almost non existent. Even the weakest guard could possibly take them on.

"What do we do." Ash who was carrying Artic over her shoulder asked.

Roland wracked his brain but failed to come up with a strategy. His previously impressive plan, had flown out the window. It had crossed his mind to leave everyone here to fend for themselves but that wasn't who he was, plus these people could very well be his friends in the future. Plus it wasn't smart to leave people who could fight behind.

"Let's hide instead!" With some a pale face and dry lips, Fifi suggested. She had used to much power and could barely stay awake.

"They are over here!"

"They went this way!"

"Quickly! split up!"

Voices of the guards kept coming from behind them.

They kept running while taking every coner they saw, it didn't matter that much if they were slower, they could make up the distance by confusing the enemy. Since the floors in this prison were in a maze like manner, there wasn't a one-way or direction.

"There's no place to hid." Roland responded. As time quickly passed, he was getting more and more nervous,'We're not gonna outrun them, and we have no location to run too. We're not gonna be able to stop them either. So where to?'

'Circle back? maybe they left their position by now? Go back to master's cell? maybe the old hag left?

'Damn it! How did my plans turn into chaos, so fast? Maybe we should-' Just as Roland's thoughts were getting out of control, his eyes suddenly shot open.

"Wait." He quickly stopped and looked at the door in front of him.

"Wait, what are you doing?", The two sisters asked in unison.

"Gambling."He quickly opened the door and entered. He didn't have much time to panic. When plans are going awry, create chaos in response, to confuse your enemies as well! If I'm gonna be frustrated, so will they!

Roland and his group were quickly greeted by the scary atmosphere. The light from the door, landed on a middle age man who was currently sleeping with his back turned towards the door.

Despite the man being 'defenceless', Roland and Ash could feel that the old man, could strike at anytime.

"Excuse sir!" Roland called out a few times but there was no response. He stilled his nerves and approached the chains on the wall and cut them. Even with that, the man remained motionless so he and the others left, but he left the door wide opened.

Roland came to the next door and opened the hatch, he was greeted by the sight of a middle age woman, the woman was sitting crossed-legged with her eyes closed.

When the woman opened her eyes, Roland felt fear for a moment before it dissapeared. Roland gritted his teeth and greeted, "Hello miss!"

"Hello darling!" The middle-aged woman was surprised by this development.

"I'm sorry to bother you but could I trouble you to help us! You see, we're currently trying to escape but the guards are chasing us, and we can't fight them." Roland quickly and courteous said, he didn't have the luxury of time and he didn't want to offend this person, so he approached with caution.

"Oh my, you are in quite the pickle!" The woman smiled. She crossed her legs and asked, "Pray do tell, what might I acquire from assisting you in you endeavours."

Roland was annoyed by the slow manner of speech from this woman, he ignored it and said, "If you become our bodyguard, I promise to remove your restraints!"

"Hmmm." The woman deliberately fell into thought, she sense their desperation from their choice of words. So why not milk the fat cow if it comes to you!

'What's there to think about!' Roland had a plan he wanted to execute but it needed the woman's

"Ms we don't have much time. If your not gonna help us it's fine, we'll move on to the next door." Roland deliberately said, he didn't know which psychopath he'd meet next, the events of Morow were still clear in his head. Currently this

woman appeared normal.

"Wait! I'll accept."

Truth was, she was also desperate. She had been in here for many years and a chance like this barely came, and she was tired of staying in this boring place. She had also considered that it was a trick by the other party but, what would she lose.

Roland quickly opened the door and noticed that unlike the others she was actually chained up to the walls near her bed. He approached the middle-aged woman, and was able to get a proper glimpse of the her.

She had sharp pointy ears, despite the wrinkles on her face she looked beautiful, her crimson red hair was tied up in a bun. An elf!

"Your not gonna betray us will you?" Roland quickly dispelled his thoughts.

The woman glanced behind him and a scroll magically appeared in front of her! This was the spiritual contract that magically bonded two people to a set of agreements.

'She wasted no time!' Roland admired as he opened the scroll.

It was actually an equality contract. The conditions were that Roland had to remove the restraints, in return she had to protect them for two hours and not to harm them.

Roland frowned when he saw that there was a duration, he thought about it and didn't complain. He pricked his finger and drew some blood, before signing the contract.

Roland noticed from the contract that the woman was named, Aeliana Emberlyn. The contract started glistening with light before diassapearing.

Roland quickly removed the restraints from the woman, strong winds kicked from the woman but it was only momentarily.

"Now Mr...."

"Roland, just Roland"

"Mr Roland, allow me and lead the way." Aeliana quickly took Fifi and placed her over her shoulder. Her entire demeanor changed, instead of a bodyguard, she seemed to turn into a secretary.

Roland was impressed by this professionalism, he nodded multiple times.

"Why is this door opened?"

Just then a guard appeared by the door but before he see what was inside, he felt a vicious kick land on his stomach, sending him crashing into a wall, weather he was alive or not was unkown.

Roland quickly led the way and they moved to the next door, he opened the door and they found a middle age man.

He quickly checked and saw that, the man wasn't chained up to the wall.

"The prison is in chaos, this might be the only chance you may get to escape." Roland left these words and moved on to the next door, he only had less then two hours where he was more or less safe.

He didn't remove his restraints because he knew that it restricted the prisoners powers, the prisoners on the tenth floor were already frightening without their powers. So he hoped that they would take care of the guards.

Hearing the boy's words, the man quickly got up and exited the room, he looked to the left and saw a guard approaching and two his right was the group that had just released him.

"The exit is that way!" Roland pointed towards the guards as he opened the door and entered, he repeated the same thing and left.

The middle aged man who had been released first, quickly approached the incoming to guards and threw two fists at them, quickly turning them into a bloody mists.

Roland's goal was to create maximum chaos while trying to escape.

Roland continued like this, there were some prisoners who were chained up but he just unchained them and just left. He opened the hatch of some doors and didn't see anyone, his encounter with Morow was still living ren't free in his head so he just left.

He continued like this for a while. He opened the door and saw a skinny looking man, Roland didn't let his skeletal frame fool him. The fact that he was on the tenth floor, where the 'scary and dangerous' people were kept, was proof of his capabilities.

Roland opened the door and quickly said the words that were becoming second nature to him.

"...this might be the only-" before Roland could finish, he suddenly saw the skinny man crushing into the wall and Aeliana had appeared besides him.

Apparently the skinny man had intended to attack Roland but he didn't noticed Aeliana and suffered for it.

Just as the old wanted to stand up and fight, a flaming arrow landed right besides him.

"You currently have your restraints on, think carefully if you want to proceed!" Aeliana's chilling voice sounded in the room.

The skinny man hesitated but ultimately stopped.

"Hmph, wise decision." Aeliana, left these words and stood besides Roland. They left and Roland closed the door.

Although people like him were strong and could benefit the cause, they were also the same people who could hurt the cause.

"I think this should be enough, we'll free the others on our way out!" Roland said as they changed course.

It wasn't that hard to find the way out, all someone needed to do was follow the signs of mayhem and they would eventually find a way out.

Blood could been seen on the floor, limbs, and disembodied heads where scattered on the ground like it was a child's dirty room.

_five minutes later_

Roland and his group had released a lot of prisoners and were almost done with this floor.

Roland opened the hatch to the last door and saw an old lady with grey hair, who had more then twenty restraints on her, she currently held the record for the most restraints in Roland's head.

She was currently staring at Roland, making his feel as if he'd die at any moments. Roland steeled his nervous and opened the door.
