Chapter 1 Coffee

{Buzz, Buzz...….Buzz, Buzz.....Buzz, Buzz} The alarm clock rings trying to wake up a young man who is sound asleep. The bedroom door opens and a woman walks inside. She faces him "Come on Damian, it's time for you to wake up. You can't be late for school" She walks back to the door and before she leaves she says "I made you breakfast, hurry before it gets cold".

Damian struggles to get out of bed but forces himself up " i really don't feel like going today. I think I overdid it last night. I'm done drinking for a while" he gets dressed and as he gets ready to leave his room he stops at the mirror and checks himself out " Damn i really do look good" his black curly hair hangs in his face, his tall, toned build. His school outfit was open in the front showing off his white shirt and gold chain. He flexed his arms before walking out of his room.

As Damian enters the Kitchen he sees his father eating. He thinks to himself "oh great he hasn't left yet? Wonder what he's going to say today". Damian sits at the table and his mom places a plate of food in front of him "Thanks mom" she smiles "Your welcome, do you want something to drink?" Damian thinks for a second "Yeah thanks, can I have a cup of orange juice?" she nods and walks to get it.

"Why don't you get your own damn juice" Damian dad remarks. Damian looks up from his plate "you're really going to start? Fine, she offered so I accepted. That a problem?" His father drops his paper "The Hell you say to me boy?" Damian stands up "You heard me old man, Is that a problem?" His father stands up and charges at him "I'll be damned if I'm going to sit here and be disrespected by the likes of some wannabe thug. You're nothing but garbage!" Damian pushes his father on the floor "Don't you dare try to call me garbage! Maybe if you acted like a father I would have turned out how you wanted!" His mother comes running over and starts pushing Damian away "That's enough, please that's enough. Just go to school" Damian looks at her confused "I'm not in the wrong here, He started this". She just kept pushing him away until Damian just left the house.

He Began to walk to school "Screw that bastard. And what was with mom? Why did she push me away? I wasn't wrong for what i did, he's wrong" thoughts rushed through his head as he walked to school. But his attention was grabbed by a scream coming from an alleyway. A voice whispered to him "save her '' he looked around to find who whispered but couldn't find anyone. Now curious He walked down the alley to see what made the scream and found a woman being mugged. The mugger turned his head to face Damian ,pointing his knife at him "walk away kid you want no part in this" Damian just looked the man in the face. This only angered him "I'm not going to tell you again kid. Walk away." Damian smiled and moved his hand behind his head. This lifted his shirt revealing a gun in his wasted band. "Give the woman back her stuff and walk away" The mugger quickly handed the woman stuff back and ran away.

She Hugged Damian "Thank you so much" Damian Holds her tight "you have to be more careful this town isn't safe" She pulls away from the hug "I know, i just thought i would take a short cut. He was so fast I couldn't even pull out my pepper spray. Hey, I was going to grab a coffee. How about I buy you one as a thank you?" Damian looks at his watch "Yeah, that would be nice" They start walking and Damian thinks" I'm already late, whats a little later"

They sit at a table and order their coffee and wait for it. The Woman turns to Damian "I never got your name." Damian turns to her "it's Damian and you are?" "It's Ada. Can I know how old you are?" Damian smiled "I'm on the young side. Im 19" Ada smiles " how old do you think i am?" Damian studied her "23" Ada laughed "wow 2 years off, im 25" they talked a bit more before their coffee was done. They walk out of the store "Well Damian I guess this is where we part ways. I hope to see you again" Damian takes a sip of his coffee "Yeah this was fun, we should do it again sometime". Ada pulls out her phone and hands him the phone "then how about we plan it next time?" Damian smiles and puts his number in. They say their goodbyes and walk off.

When Daiman gets to school it's already 9:30 am. He walks right in and right to his class. The moment he enters his teacher sends him out without a word Damian walks to the office and takes a seat. The principal walked out of his office "this is your 10th late in a row. I'm going to have to talk to your parents" Damian doesn't move "good luck with that" The principal just sighs "What happened to you? You used to be such a good kid" Damian just sips his coffee.

The Principal Calls Damian's parents and when they show up he leads them to his office and sends Damian out into the hallway. He walks the halls scrolling through his phone when he hears another whisper "You're in danger" He turns his head and sees no one. When he turns back he sees a woman dressed in all gray, with long Gray hair. He could swear she was glowing. But she was all the way down the hall. "You must save them all" echoed through Damian's head. He looked at her as she began to walk away so he ran down the hall at her but lost sight of her. He wanders the halls, scared that something so about to happen. He jumps when his phone rings. He picks it up "Hello" The voice on the phone answers "Damian where are you?" He breathes a sigh of relief to hear his mothers voice "i had to use the bathroom." His mother relays the message to the principal "Okay just get back to her when you're done. We have to talk to you" the phone hangs up.

Damian falls to the floor Laying his back on some lockers" come on get it together. Everything is going to be fine. You're just tired" He closes his eyes and just breathes for a little. When he opened his eyes a woman was in his face. This one was pale and dressed in all black. Damian Slams back into the locker and he tries to yell but the screams don't come out. The woman stands up "I hope she picked right. Time for the test." she clapped her hands and walked away

Damian's heart is racing so fast but despite being afraid he stands up to follow where the woman went but she disappeared.

His mind is racing and he tries to piece everything together but before he could he hears gunshots…
