I watched them go out of the coffee shop, Immediately they came out of the door Tommy's sports car appeared, with another sports car behind it. The second car was an Aventador SVJ Roadster, I watched as the drivers came out and handed over the keys to Tommy and Xavier. Xavier turned slightly and looked at me through the glass door before entering his car.
Only when they got in and zoomed off did I let out a loud sigh of relief.
" Did I just meet Xavier Scott? " I murmured as I stood there still dazed. Amanda came to stand by my side" Actually ma'am, I have a confession to make." I looked at her Immediately " What happened? " came my question as I waited for her reply.
" Did you notice no one entered the coffee shop since you entered?" She asked instead, and I nodded. I was so focused on Tommy that it didn't even occur to me. I turned to look at the door and noticed the open sign was turned in meaning anyone passing by would be seeing the closed sign.
" Yeah, why is that? " But something was already telling me it had something to do with the men who just left.
" The two men that left here paid to reserve the whole shop for the period they were here, To be precise it was the one that got you coffee. It seems you know them." She paused, I was about to ask how much they paid when she continued " Can you believe he paid 10 million dollars just for them to take a cup of coffee with no one in the coffee shop? I even said it was too much but he just asked a young man to pay me, The young man left before you came though." She looked amazed.
" The show off. He really can't help but flaunt his money" I muttered, I wasn't just even annoyed when normally I got annoyed with people who do that. I couldn't help but roll my eyes. That's to be expected, I mean his Thompson Frederick after all.
" Why don't you look shocked or even surprised? " Amanda looked at me waiting for some sort of explanation. Her innocent expression was hilarious to watch as she waited.
" I know them Amanda, or should I say I know the one that paid. " I simply explained.
" What? Don't tell me his your boyfriend. Oh my God, why else would he serve you coffee? This is like in the movies where the female lead would be married to a billionaire or a CEO of some big company and keep it a secret in other not to get attention. Don't worry ma'am, I'll keep it a secret. " She was talking so fast I didn't even get the chance to say a word, By the time she was done I was just looking at her loss of words.
" I knew it, that had to be it " This time I couldn't hold my laughter. She was right in some ways but was still completely wrong, though I wished that was the case. It would have been way better to marry Tommy than the old man at least he was handsome and young and we got along. Not quite old husband ' That reminds me he's no longer mischievous, he doesn't tease me like he used to If anything it was like he avoided me ' I almost laughed out, 'Why would he marry me only to avoid me, Maybe his plotting something evil ' My heart started racing when something crossed my mind, it was his eyes again. I felt the same feeling I felt looking into the old man's eyes when I looked at Xavier.
" Your wrong dear, He's not my boyfriend. He's just someone I know. " I told her as I snapped out of my thoughts "Didn't you get to see his face? " Did she not recognise them, I just learnt not Not recognising Tommy was possible after all I didn't recognise him too but not recognising Xavier Scott was impossible.
" No ma'am, they both wore the face mask when they spoke with me." She replied. Knowing Amanda, her interrogation would have gone on longer if she had seen their faces.
My phone rang, it was Hads.
" Hey Hads "
" Hey dear, are you still in the coffee shop? "
" Yeah, are you done with your work at the orphanage?" She sounded really tired.
" Yeah, Am coming. I don't want to go home yet." That's rare, Hads liked the comfort of her home. I guessed immediately that she wasn't okay.
" Alright, see you " With that she hung up.
She got to the coffee shop 30 minutes later, She crumbled and the chair the moment she entered and just placed her head on the table. I made an iced americano and took it to her.
I massaged her shoulders while her head was still on the table and she raised her head and smiled in contentment.
" Are you okay? " I could see she wasn't
" Am not Lisa, Little Sam's health got worse. " She sighed heavily as she replied " I went to see him at the hospital and he was looking so weak and fragile" She continued holding back a tear.
Little Sam was her favourite boy in the orphanage, the boy was only 8 years old. Hads and I had been visiting the orphanage for 5 years, we met the same when he was only 3 years old and have watched him grow since then. If I might have been sure Hads would have offended and adopted him. A few days ago, Little Same got sick and has been in the hospital since.
" He'll be fine okay? Stop worrying" I tried to assure her and she nodded.
" Have your coffee." I tapped my hand on the table as I waited.
She smiled and took a sip.
" This is amazing Lis " She closed her eyes as she nodded in satisfaction
" Dramma Queen " I muttered as walked back to the coffee bar and she smiled She finished her coffee and brought her to the counter. They were customers in the shop now and Amanda was attending to them.
" Guess who I met today? "I asked her as I suddenly remembered the person that came by earlier.
" Rhe came closer to me immediately and whispered " The old man came again? "
" I wouldn't have been so shocked if he was the one." I simply told her. " Then who, You're keeping me in suspense ." She complained.
" I told you to guess. " I was intentionally annoying her now since I knew she hated being in suspense.
She rolled her eyes at me before looking at me annoyed
" Okay... It's Xavier Scott" I said quietly.
" What!? Where? How? " She shouted which made everyone in the coffee shop turn in our direction.
